  1. Whoa whoa whoa...I just read in that first thread that there is no more kiddie pool on Adventure! True?!?! No slide, either? That's a deal breaker for me!

I was on adventure this past month and there is indeed NO h20 zone also known as the kiddie pool area. I would consider adventure if you have kids, more to do although I like both of these ships. Adventure now leaves on Saturday and jewel on Sunday. Jewel is just out of dry dock so she now has big screen tv, electronic where am I boards by the elevators and new furnishings. Lots of things happen including live music in the centrum, therefore rooms close to the centrum can be a little noisy in the evenings. Also there is a lifeboat cover between deck 6 nd 7 although it does not interfere with the outward view from the balcony it does interfere with the downward view. Hope this helps.

  2. So sorry husband is sick. Not fun, I got a really bad cold when we did the 15 day Panama Canal cruise.

Couple of questions: did you book your rental cars online before you boarded your cruise. Did you book the luau before your cruise or was it a ship excursion.

Renting a car seems the thing to do so you get around. Thank you for taking the time to give us a detail of your experience. Really enjoying reading along.

  3. Sheila & Ed, we stopped using cruise transfers years ago, having to wait on the bus to fill, we could be well on our way.:). since we plan to spend the night at the IAH Marriott, our shuttle will be from the Hotel to Cruise port morning of the cruise. Right now our July 2017 cruise is hardly moving so unless more sign up and wanting to share the shuttle we are on our own.

Check out the super shuttle they do pick up at hotels

  4. We have a cruised plan for next year and also will stay at the IAH Marriott then shuttle to the cruise Port and back to IAH, rates are pretty much the same whether we use Galveston Express, rent a car for the week and park or go with Galveston Shuttle & Limo. Rates are based upon 1 way. Right now our Roll Call is very slow so unless we can get 5 people min to use Galveston Express we will use the other company and do a private shuttle.

We used the super shuttle private car and driver. They were waiting for us when we landed and met them in baggage claim. Pricey if only two people but same price as RC shuttle if 4 passengers, well worth it, no wait for the bus to fill up.

  5. Although I have never sailed with a gold card I have friends that I sail with that have. You have several perks that go with that card you have not mentioned. Use of the concierge loung with drinks and snacks for a couple of hours in the evening. Use of the sun decks at the side of the sky bar. Usually special blocked off seating in the theatre. It might be too early in your cruise but there also should be a suite party that I understand is usually very nice.

I will be interested to know how many formal nights there are on a 24 day cruise. Again thank you for taking the time to let us all know about this cruise.

  6. Was hoping this April 2018 transpacific from Sydney to Seattle would become available with the Australia releases that should have been released the week of March 22nd. So far the Australia cruises only go to February 2018.

Does anyone have any ideas when this transpacific cruise will be released. Thanks for any insight cc may have.

  7. Hey There! We are on Adventure B2B in September for John's birthday. Been a while. Are Guy and Lisa going with you? Tell them hello......I sure miss them! We will be in Venice in June.

    Again....thanks for the nice comments' date=' everyone.[/size']

No Lisa and guy are not going with us on this one, they are on liberty of the seas this week and last week. I know they are taking a cruise out of Venice but don't know if it is June or July. I won't see them until after we get back from adventure. Maybe you are going at the same time, I will find out.

  8. It is a tradition for me to order Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for sailaway. Now I am concerned that we won't be able to get any Champagne until we get out to international waters because of the restrictions in Galveston. Has anyone had issues or can I bring on a bottle of Champagne? I believe we are allowed 2 bottles of wine to bring on board, I assume Champagne qualifies.

    Thanks!

Yes, champagne is ok, take it onboard with you

  9. Depends on the ship decides to do it. We usually try to keep the same room and we can come and go as we please with our in-transit slip of paper. You are required to run your old sea pass card thru the machines. This allows them to record an empty ship. Sometimes you are taken off then allowed to re board using your new sea pass card. If however you are changing rooms you should let your stateroom attendant know since he will move your packed suitcase and your garments from the closet to your new room. You do not have to take your carry on items with you. All I ever take is our two sea pass cards and our passport plus any items from the safe. Sometimes they provide a really nice lunch in the dining room with wine included.

You should get the ships instructions and your new sea pass card the evening before. enjoy

  10. I have sent my dining request so now I am curious if I get what I requested. Thank you for the information, I will post again when I have results

I see that greenb has results already. We are sailing on adventure April 2 and 9, b2b and I sent my request same day as greenb but I have no response as of now. I will wait til the end of this week then I might resend.
