I'm actually a TA. I see 2 cabins available - 7203 and 7603.  Another option is the Central Park view - just 1 available (9179) right now for $2373.06.  You should be able to call Royal Caribbean directly.

Thanks for the help. We really loved the promenade room on Explorer so maybe we will book that. Thanks again.

    You're welcome!!

Actually yes, had one on Explorer but when I go through the mock booking on RCI website it says not available. No idea why though.

And just like that its gone, back up to 3,085 bucks. Whatever was going on yesterday is gone and that is why you don't hesitate. I had my CC in hand ready to book, looked the cruise up and poof its gone. Very disappointed and its all my fault.

Would you consider a Promenade View cabin?  I'm showing for 3 it's $2313.06.

Booked balcony guarantee.  Assigned a D2   (ANTHEM of the Seas)

Receive the upgrade bid email - 77 days until sailing.

    Spacious OV Balcony:  from $50pp

    Junior Suite: from $200 pp

    Grand Suite: from $450pp

All suites are currently showing as sold out.

My balcony cabin still shows GTY on RCI account,  has assigned muster station on sailpass, but TA confirmed room assignment.

We are on the 8/29 Anthem Sailing and received the same Royal Up offer.  We currently have a D1 Balcony.

I would suggest you book with a TA or a Royal CVP.  They have access to available cabins which we are NOT able to see on the website. I just booked a cruise on Saturday for June 2020 and it did not show available to me but it did to my CVP.  Make the call and save yourself the grief.

I was actually looking at RCCL’s booking engine. I am a Cruise consultant...so couldn’t agree more!!

I am trying to book a boardwalk balcony on our next cruise.  For my parents I can pick the room (it will just be the two of them).  However, when I try to book it for my family of four, it forces it to be a boardwalk balcony guarantee.  Does this mean they are currently sold out of those rooms that are available for more than two people?  Or, what would force it into a guarantee instead of being able to choose the room?  (I am looking at Harmony, December 13, 2020.)

Yes it looks like you’d have to book a Category 1I for 4.  Category 2I is only a guarantee at this point.

It looks like you could get cabins next to each other on Deck 9 (9327 or 9323 & 9325) - If you want to be towards the back.

  7. One thing I noticed is you are showing a picture of a Freestyle Machine.

In order to use the machine you must have the "special cup" with a chip in it.  Otherwise nothing will dispense.

You can always take a refillable bottle to a bar or to the water station and fill it.  If there's a sign that's posted to not use your own cup, then use theirs and dump the water in your refillable bottle.

We changed cabins on B2B on Liberty. We were told to leave hanging stuff hanging and to pack the rest. Steward would move everything to new cabin.

Trying to be helpful we packed everything.

Steward has other jobs to do on change over day, so didn't move swiftly enough for us. Didn't want our cases in cabin when next occupants arrived, so we moved our own cases to new cabin.

New steward not happy that we'd felt the need to do it ourselves and went to admonish old steward.

Not sure if that helps. Having said that first steward did not get additional tips over daily service charge as we'd had to do it ourselves. Second steward went over and above.so he did. ( family had joined in nearby cabin for second cruise, same steward, GD caused a little more mess)

You'll get information on what to do on change over day towards end of first cruise. All those doing B2B meet together and are led ashore so the ship can have a 'zero count'. You can choose not to do this by getting off early and treating the day as a normal port day. If enough passengers , there may be a special lunch in one of dining rooms. We got off  long enough for the zero count then first boarding group,  to enjoy few peaceful hours before masses embarked.

Good to know...that was my other question.  We’ve only done a B2B on Princess and we just sat in a dining room and they scanned our cards.  Once done we were free to go about our day, but we had the same cabin.

i wasn’t sure how fast we’d get our new room.

We have a deck 12 Ocean View Balcony the first week and then a deck 12 Central Park Balcony the 2nd week.  (At least for now - Unless something opens up between now & February)

  9. I agree with the other responses.   The Rockin' the Caribbean cruise group shouldn't cause other shows to be cancelled.

There are actually 2 cruises - 2/16 and 2/23 for the same group.

We ended up booking the 2/16 cruise, but only because we will be on 2/9 and wanted to do a back to back.

You will usually see special events for the group around the ship, but all the regular venues should still be available to those who did not purchase the exclusive package.

I have quickly scanned through this thread not realising people were posting their experiences and it is a very interesting reading.

I have had the e.mail for Indie 18th May sailing, twice ! . Declined as we are happy with our balcony cabin GTY result and got a price drop of £300 on the cruise so we are in a win win situation.

I also got the e.mail for the Explorer 31st May sailing. We booked an inside GTY months ago , happy with the deck but not too excited about the location of the allocated cabin. There was a huge price drop but couldn’t get it as for “ new bookings only “ so technically we have paid way over the odds for our cabin. Hubby said in for a penny in for a pound and bid for the upgrade as we had the price drop on the other cruise. So, do you think the odds are for us as RCI already had more money out of us for the inside GTY and we are willing to pay more for the upgrade bid ?  😆.

Will try and remember to report back the result .

Just curious...for your guarantee Explorer cabin, did you check to see if any other cabins were available on the deck you got?  It may be possible to switch locations as long as you're in the same category.  Just a thought.😎

Many people who need an extension cord for a CPAP will also need one to use in the hotel the night before the cruise, if flying in early, as most do.  Then you don't have anyplace to store the extension cord during your cruise.

If you keep the CPAP cord plugged into the extension cord, and then just wrap the whole thing up as one unit, it will be unlikely to be noticed / confiscated by security because it looks like it's just the cord for the machine itself.

If you do this, PLEASE use a non-surge-protected cord, and one that is in excellent condition.

My husband uses a CPAP machine and he's always been able to find a plug in at the hotel pre-cruise.  My thought is the hotel could more than likely provide an extension cord, if needed.  Once on the ship he's always provided with a gallon of water and an extension cord, if needed.
