  1. Lemon Drop with grey goose with 18% gratuity was $14.16 on our Feb cruise.

Wines by the glass varied. My friends were able to order most at $12, but without package you would add the 18% gratuity to this price.

I think if you do not have the package and order a soda they will give you a can. (This is only an observation as we all had packages)

As far as additional tipping...it's definitely up to you. I often left an extra tip, but not for every drink.

  2. We were on the Navigator 9 night 2/17/17 and both my husband and I had drink packages. I had booked in October, but every time the price went down, I cancelled and purchased again. The final price for both packages was $807.12. So, $403.56...which I think was $38 a day plus gratuity.

We never gave a second thought to purchasing the package for my husband, as he loves to drink on vacation and can easily get his monies worth...now for me, I went back and forth on it. I can easily drink 3 bottles of water and always get a specialty coffee each morning. (Although, I will say I'm fine drinking a cup of water with ice.) But grabbing a bottle of water each evening to put in the fridge is convenient.

Each afternoon I would drink a mojito (or 2) by the pool. I think these were around $10 -$12. Before dinner I would order a lemon drop martini with grey goose and these were $14.16 each. (I have a receipt as I bought one for a friend). After dinner I usually had 1 drink...either a martini or a patron margarita.

So I figured as long as I had 3 drinks and a few waters and a coffee each day, I would break even or at least be satisfied with what I was paying.

I will mention...I was disappointed on Labadee as they do not have full bar service, unless you're in a suite.

Another tip I will offer if you decide to purchase the drink package...All week I ordered my lemon drop martini with grey goose and a variety of top shelf drinks, not necessarily listed on the menu, and not once was there an upcharge, but the last night in the casino I ordered a cosmo off the menu and it had grey goose...the bartender said there would be a $1.00 upcharge. I said really..why? He said because it's grey goose...I said I've ordered grey goose all week and not once been charged any type of upcharge. He said "oh"...but I told him, that's fine...I'll pay the upcharge, just wanted to try to "figure out" this whole drink package and the varying prices in different venues. So when he swiped my seapass card he said "oh, it didn't charge you extra"...but the receipt said something about an adjustment, so I'm not sure if he changed it or not.

My thought is if you order a drink that isn't specifically listed on the menu with top shelf liquor they just charge you the "basic" price, but if it's on the menu and indicates a premium price, then they "may" charge you an upcharge. The good thing is...they will definitely tell you right away if there's going to be an additional charge, which I appreciate.

  3. I requested an egg crate on our recent Navigator cruise and was told the same thing...egg crates have been removed fleet wide due to sanitary reasons.

The beds were very firm and definitely did not have double mattress toppers. Our room steward added an extra comforter and said he would continue to add them until we were comfortable.

After the first comforter was added, I told the room steward the next day that the bed was still firm. He told me to remind him later and he would add another one, but he never did and I just let it go.

  4. Enjoying your review...beautiful pics!! We were on this sailing with you. It looks like we had the same idea at every port.:)

We went to Cas Abao beach in Curacao.

In Aruba, we took a taxi to the beach and hung out right next to the Hilton.

Next we did a private sail/snorkel in Bonaire (booked through Royal Caribbean's private journeys), we "may" have been right next to you in the marina. The sailing was with Blue Bay Sailings.

I mentioned to my husband that it would've been nice to have a Go Pro for the zipline in Labadee and when snorkeling. Your underwater shots were very good. I'm definitely going to look into purchasing one before our cruise next February. Now to decide...do we want to stay with the 7 night Harmony cruise we booked while on board and do a few days to a week in Key West before or a 12 day on Anthem. Decisions...

Well anyway, thank you for taking the time to do a review!!

  5. I'll be following along...we fly out on Wednesday and board the Navigator on Friday.

If you are able to post cocktail prices and I'm also curious as to what the specialty dining prices are on the ship.

Everything I've read says to book before boarding to "save" money, but I have OBC that I want to use.

We've already purchased our ultimate drink packages and prepaid our gratuities.

  6. I am not sure the days it was offered...as we had purchased the black friday offering of the deluxe drink package with the surf and stream voom package. We would normally not have purchased drink pkg as we are diamond and are in a suite so we have lots of freebie drinks. However it was such a great deal that we could not pass up! I know that on the last few days RCCL has offered (including today) 10 drinks for $85.00. :)

Glad to hear a positive review of the Navigator!! :)

My question is regarding the deluxe drink package.

Just curious if you had to pay extra for any cocktails, martini's, etc?

Also, any drinks you would recommend?

    Thanks in advance!!

  7. Don't worry, I just prefer sparkling for my meals! I will also drink Chardonnay with meals or even a cosmo with Absolut since Gray Goose cosmos seem to be above the package now. I also like a mimosa with breakfast and a mudslide or BBC by the pool. No problem making the package worth it especially since I drink a water between every alcoholic beverage and will get at least one or two lattes a day!

    Thanks for the help!

From everything I've read, Grey Goose is still included without an additional charge.

I will be sure to watch for your update.

    Enjoy your cruise!! :)

  8. If you pre-purchase the package, be sure to ask questions/get info when you get on the ship about how to log off.

Somehow during our last cruise I missed the instructions on how to correctly log off and I had trouble switching from my phone to my ipad, etc until the 3rd day when I finally asked at Guest Services. I believe you just type: logoff.com or something like that.

For our February 9 day cruise I was able to purchase the 1 device, surf only for $81, but it was back in October. Now the 1 device with surf and stream is $107.91.

  9. Thank you for doing this review...man how I wish I would've had this info before our Allure cruise last February!!

We are getting ready to go on Navigator...just a general question as I know drink prices vary ship to ship and month to month, but did you happen to notice the price of martinis? One of my favorite drinks is a lemon drop with Grey Goose. Do you know if Grey Goose is included in the drink package as well? I know it was last year, just wasn't sure with all the changes recently.

I'm hoping Sabor on the Navigator has these great margaritas you speak of as well.

  10. Thank you for taking the time to write a review!

You mentioned having a drink package...can you tell me if you were ever charged extra for any drinks? i am wondering specifically for cocktails. I prefer martinis, Grey goose is my preferred vodka.

Also you mentioned getting chips and salsa from Sabor. Were you able to get a margarita as well? I wasn't sure if they were available for dine in only. Also, are they different than what you can get anywhere else throughout the ship?

  11. As others have said, the ABC Islands are great ports. Personally, the Freedom Class has become my favorite class, but I enjoyed the Oasis and the Allure as well.

I agree for first time cruisers, the Navigator will be a great choice. But the Oasis would also wow them, but many are not too impressed with the ports.

    Have a great time!

  12. Thanks for taking us along! I'm anxiously awaiting till it's our turn in February...so this helps.

I haven't been on the Navigator for many years. Can you tell me if real fruit smoothies are offered anywhere on the ship? If by chance they are, would they be included with the deluxe drink package?

Look forward to more pics of Labadee as the last cruise we took that was supposed to go there, we had a medical emergency and had to divert to Nassau. :(
