  1. I would love to do that itinerary. It looks amazing 😍. I don't think I would mind a smaller, older ship in exchange for such great ports.
  2. Hampton Inn Waterloo is a very short walk (under 5 minutes) from the tube and train station. It's a typical Hampton with breakfast included in the price. This same train station (it's called "London Waterloo") is also where you'd catch the train down to Southampton so it's a good choice. I haven't stayed at the Doubletree Victoria but it is also very conveniently located. Walking distance, if you don't have mobility issues, to a number of sites and right next to the train and tube station. If you stay here, you'll want to book on a National Express coach to get to Southampton. Victoria Coach Station, where NE coaches depart from, is separate from the train and tube station but is still just a short walk from the Doubletree.
  3. Can you find a TA in the opposite direction that works for you and match up the return flight with that? Two cruises for just one round-trip flight.
  4. Thanks for bringing us along. Safe travels home. ☺️
  5. Geiranger is amazing. You should have time to hire a twizy electric vehicle or, if you're mobile and enjoy walking, walk up to Westeras Farm. Take a look at this live thread over on the Royal Caribbean board. I think the link should take you to the correct page but if it doesn't Geiranger coverage starts at post #660 on page 27. I hope it helps.
  6. But why should they have to upgrade? If Royal sold them a Balcony GTY for 3 people then that's what they should get, not some hastily adapted two-berth cabin that may not provide suitable sleeping arrangements for the 3rd person.
  7. You're in the right place but there appears to be a recent glitch that is preventing some people from seeing it on some sailings. I have 1 Anthem, 1 Freedom and 1 Allure booked. I can only see the dining on the Freedom booking (see screenshot below). Others have reported being unable to see it on Oasis and Quantum class ships but can see it on other classes so it may (or not) be related to the class of ship.
  8. Hmm. There is another recent thread reporting the same situation. Here's the link if you want to read it:
  9. Glad you caught it before it caught you. 😬
  10. Haha, promise you I don't although I was a travel agent many moons ago and the cruise planning bug still bites. 😂 I'm glad you were able to save a bit. I was very happy to get a decent price for embarkation day lunch on my upcoming cruise on Freedom. ☺️
  11. Just about as bad as going into your room and seeing the dreaded luggage tags laid out on your bed... 😭
  12. Check your Cruise Planners. For once there are some real discounts even on things like hibachi and Chef's Table.
  13. Yes. The steps lead to the footpath that you can take all the way up to the top. It's a bit challenging but the terrain is not at all rough under foot so if you like walking and get good weather it's very enjoyable.
  14. It certainly would. Hopefully some day. 🥰🤞 I'm the mum. 😉 Going with DD. Last year we did the fjords so thoroughly enjoying reliving that through @mil76 's pics. Hope you have a great time too.
  15. No, we're on the 1st to France and Spain. Mum and daughter trip. Are you on the 20th?
  16. They had that when I cruised out of Southampton in September 2022 but not in April 2023 or July 2023. The app suggests it's back so I'm hoping it is and will still be operating when we board in September. It was an altogether much pleasanter and more civilised affair than the WJ and had all the basics.
  17. DD and I were lucky and gorgeous weather. We hiked up rather than taking the funicular and the views were great. Exactly like the one @sandebeach posted.
  18. The funicular. Book the tickets online if you can. There will be a queue at the station. It's a short walk from the port. https://floyen.no/en
  19. Bergen is miles better than Haugesund! That's a great itinerary change. Enjoy. 🙂
  20. Fingers crossed it all goes right for you on the day and you have an amazing time to make up for all this pre-cruise anxiety. 🤞
  21. That would be consistent with a southbound Pacific Coastal repo following her final Alaska cruise of the season, which ends in Vancouver on the 14th. Let's see which way she goes from there... drum roll... 😂
