  1. Great questions ! We'll follow those same guidelines with our group in a month. Here's one for recent cruiser pertaining to the main dining room dress attire. Are shorts for men and women acceptable ? Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  2. On a 10 night I assume the first formal night is the second night? And how about the second formal night?
  3. I did just that Jim_lain, thank you. Reading different posts i guess a lot depends on the ship and the restaurant.
  4. Was the musical "LIFE" the main show attraction in the theatre? (your description might keep us away from seeing that show) Do you remember the show times for that one and if they had other Headliner shows during your stay. One more question, assuming you did the 10 nighter which nights were the Formal Nights.
  5. I'm somewhat speechless after reading your reply, oh yes those nuns (Sister's of St. Anne) with their clappers knew how to work them to inflict pain on the boy's knuckles. Why did the boys always get whacked and the most the girls got was a stern voice, they'd have to be doing something really terrible. Lol..peut etre was a word that just rattled my brain having not used it for so long but it came back alright .Lucky for us boys, my high school graduating class in 1965 consisted of 13 boys and 32 girls. Our two daughters never picked up the language going to grammar and high schools which was still ok. They're both successful in their careers while one is 49 the other 52 now, lol..lol.. A bientot, et bonjour.
  6. Bien venue Oceangoer2 ! Many, many years ago attended the french parochial school in our city.My dad was french canadian, my mother's father was canadian. Learning how to speak french was mandatory from grades 1-12. After I graduated from high school the language pretty much left me. Now and then I pick up a few words. Parisian french is much more of a challenge.
  7. Your reply is much appreciated. So, what are these points earned towards?
  8. We'll be on the Silhouette in early April. We're looking for those cruisers who ate specifically at the Tuscan Grille restaurant. I've read some positive reviews without them going into detail. Can anyone else elaborate on the food quality and types they serve that you'd recommend along with the price per person and if you've found it worthwhile. I'm reading that the MDR food is now blah-blah so a night or two at the Tuscan grille might be something to give a try to. Thanks in advance to those who reply.
  9. Ah, ok, so we're Elite status, on a 10 night Veranda (balcony) in April, so does that mean one more point per night or?
  10. Thank you for the link, I checked it out.
  11. On day one will guests be given the option of having a light cleaning or full cleaning done once or twice a day? Is there any benefits to which option you choose? Thank you in advance to those who reply.

  13. You got that right, the average Bahamian wont see a penny to help them and their economy.
  14. Ok I just verified the warnings from the State Dept from Nassau and Freeport. That's good enough for me. I'm sure others should keep in mind when leaving the port to "Exercise EXTREME caution. That's good enough for me.
  15. Something that shouldn't escape this topic of the Bahamian Government looking to implement the VAT tax. It's been a known fact that the US State Department has advised American's not to travel to Nassau ( and the islands of the Bahamas) due to the high crime rate that they feel American's and others from different counties aren't being considered safe. The Bahamian Government should be doing more to protect tourists instead of imposing a tax . There, just about everywhere corruption and greed is everywhere.
  16. Today is February 13th, let's read up on what the cruise industry's response is to that VAT tax in a few days. Myself, I believe it's a way to line the government's pockets. This isn't going to make cruisers happy getting charged more money even if the cruise lines add it to their fee "without notice" to every ship that stops in the Bahamas. Unfortunately there's very few ships that aren't stopping in the Bahamas unless they depart from San Juan.
  17. WOW!!! that disgusting observation had to have got by other "white shirts" first. Some people's heads had to roll as a result. Nice one thanks for posting.
  18. Can you elaborate a little more on that "Go Green" Tell me, how do you receive points once a month with Celebrity without even taking a cruise? I read this from a previous post. So, what about already having paid the pre cruise gratuities on X. It probably doesn't make sense to opt to Go Green now. Right? Anyone?
