Just correcting my spelling of Parintins.

For the second one I agree.

I got misled because when we were there the jetty was about 100 meters upstream, to the right.

For the first one I'm tempted by Belem, but can't find an exact match although there are lots of close ones.

Still no closer to identifying Carl's photo, but the latest clue suggest an immigration port ...

I’m no closer either. In fact I might be getting further away. I had read the clue as suggesting an emigration port, rather than an immigration one. I may have to start all over again.

  3. I'm surprised there wasn't more duplication between @bluemarbleand myself.

I see Port Chalmers on the list (my error?). We've already seem that at post #2290 and identified by @Yaldi.

Was Peterhead Scotland a single scheduled visit by QE2? If so, it didn't happen. Due to the weather she couldn't make it through the breakwater. Of course there may have been other calls that I don't remember, or by other ships.

Just to get it out of the way, this is my last photo before I make a start on the list. I know you don't need any clues but this port is due to make a reappearance this year, as a sail-by.

  4. I'm afraid I don't recognise either of the outstanding photos.

Working on the ports we haven't seen has thrown up a few surprises. There are some well known large towns/cities/ports and it's a surprise we haven't seen them. Then there are others that are a surprise they were ever Cunard ports in the first place.

This definetly falls into the latter category.

You learn something new every day!

    Are we looking for Rosyth?

You’re not looking for it. You’ve found it.👍

South Queensferry, which we’ve seen already, on the south side of the River Forth is in the county of Midlothian. Rosyth, on the north side, is in the Kingdom of Fife.

The photo is not the Forth Road Bridge, but the newer Queensferry Crossing.

I’ll refrain from mentioning the the third port as it may crop up later😁

Some people might disagree but I'm going to claim this as a new port.

TIme for a hint. (Although I reckon @bluemarblehas worked it out.)

The reason some people might disagree is that the port in question is behind the camera, to the right. But a port we have already seen is equally close but to the left on the coast that can be seen. The port in question is not just in a different county, it’s in a different Kingdom!

There is another Cunard port a few more miles to the left but despite having sailed past it thirteen times I’ve never docked there. I have known Cunard to have a ship in all three ports on the same day, so we’re talking about a major city here.

Here’s an alternative view. I wasn’t sure of the rules whether I had to show the port or whether a photo of the town was acceptable.

I didn't have a pic of the harbour area, but I thought if it's got water and boats then it's close enough.😄

The weird thing is I nearly posted mine a few minutes after you without realizing we both had the same port. I decided to leave it until some of the unsolved ones had been cracked.

I think @carlmm still has this one outstanding.

My last as yet unidentified port (post 2619) is an island capital. We visited in 2006. Unfortunately my other photos on the day don't offer any better views. Fairly confident it has been a Cunard port. Located only 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela.

Don’t know how I missed this. I spent a long time trying to fit one of your recent photos into this port.

    Port of Spain, Trinidad.

  9. I'm struggling with the two remaining locations. My first thought for carlmm's is Aden, but I can't get the image to line up with anything in google.maps.

    Is this one any easier?

BTW @bluemarble there's a typo in the list. Dikili is in Turkey, not NZ

If I'd realised Dover was a Cunard port I'd have posted this earlier !

I was thinking that once I’d run out of photos I’d post a list of Cunard ports that I’d been to but didn’t have any photos of.

Then I thought maybe it would be better to wait until we’d all run out and “a volunteer” could collate a master list of unseen Cunard ports, either because one of us had been there but didn’t have any photos, or from @bluemarble‘s list of itineraries, or whatever.

Maybe someone else might have a photo but didn’t realise it was a Cunard port.Like me with Mindelo, or Hattie with Dover.

We wouldn’t be guessing completely blind, but it would be more challenging than one person saying ‘I know Cunard has been to Dover’, then someone else posts a picture and we all go, “Well we all know where that is.”

I’ve a few more up my sleeve yet. Thoughts anyone?

    Thoughts?
