I would not recommend walking. It seems a bit far and part of the area seemed a little unsafe. Worth taxi fare in my opinion.

We've been to cozumel numerous times. One of the funnest excursions we've done with my son was the passion island by twister. Passion island is just an island with an all inclusive beach. ..nothing extravagant. The exciting thing was the boat ride there and back. The twister boat goes really fast and does 360° spins. The one thing I didn't like was the time on the island is very short. Hope this helps.

No resorts with soft sandy beaches due to rocky shoreline.
Hotel resorts with day passes include Hotel Cozumel and Cozumel Palace - email for current rates. Beach bars/ restaurants with loungers include No Name Bar, Jeannies and Margaritaville.
Use google images to see if any offer what you are looking for.
Thank you very much for those suggestions.

I have been to Cozumel about 15 times but never noticed if they have any beach areas or Any Resorts with a beach that offer a day pass downtown. Any suggestions?

I did end up going to Coki beach and it was gorgeous. I would NEVER go there with children. Everyone was smoking weed everywhere. I guess it didn't help that I was there on national weed smoking day back in April, lol. I would recommend megans bay with kids.

Ok I did the tour last week. It's impossible to see it in vieques if you are staying in san juan because that's on a different island. If you are in san juan you can see bioluminescence in Fajardo which is an hour ride from san juan.
Bioluminescence was a huge disappointment. 1st off, I wanted to do the tour by power boat but those companies do no provide transportation there from san juan and I did not want to rent a car and drive around at night in another country. Which turned out to be a wise choice.
The late kayak tour was booked so we had to go early. That's where the disaster began. The tour began in daylight so kayaking to the bioluminescence area was not difficult. The problem was it did not get dark enough to see the glowing water. Right as we were leaving the water finally began to glow. We literally saw it for 1 minute. The tour company is ripping people off for this early your.
Kayaking back in the pitch darkness was also disastrous.
So the bottom line is.....if u go early you don't see any glowing. If you go late you will see the beautiful glowing but kayaking is nearly impossible because you cannot even see your hands in front your face. Good luck to those who try it.
The kayaking begins in a park with tons of people around so it definitely felt like a safe area.

I saw a video once of a beach in Puerto Rico where huge waves crash over a rock wall. Does anybody know the name of that beach? And is there a way to get transportation there besides renting a car?
-
I'm planning to do a bioluminous tour that is only available at night. I have friends that did it and they say it's absolutely gorgeous and considered one of the natural wonders of the world. I'll be there next week so if you are interested I can provide feedback when I get home.

I'm really just interested in swimming in crystal clear water. I've been to ports where so many people were in the water stirring up sand that the water appears to be murky. I just want the clearest water I can find.

I bought antibiotics without a prescription at a pharmacy in the shopping area (not at the port), for only $4

When you get off the ship they will have several vendors offering an all inclusive beach resort for $35. I'm not sure what they charge for kids. I did not take the offer because I wanted to walk around and see the area. Several people on my cruise did go to the all inclusive and loved it. Next time I'm there I will definitely go to the resort.

I'm trying to decide which beach, Coki or Megans Bay? I would like to know which one has the clearest water??

FYI all balcony partitions cannot be opened. We had a spa room on the Dream and was told the balcony partition could not be opened to the neighbor on the right. It could only be opened to the neighbor on the left.

Believe it or not I called the hotel and nobody could answer my question. I just asked if I could buy 2 wristbands for guests and nobody knows. I really don't want to tell them 4 are in a room in case they object.
-
Can anyone tell me how strict the InterContinental is with issuing pool/beach wristbands? I am booking the hotel with visa points and it will only allow me to book 2 in a room but we plan to have 4 in our room. Are the wristbands issued at check in or out at the pool with a room key?

I would also like to know.

I've done it before during the off season and carnival was ok with it. They will not allow that during holidays.

Thanks for the info. Going in 2 weeks :)

I loved passion island but I felt rushed. As soon as we got there and ate it seemed like we were turning around and going back. Not much beach time.
Personally, if you are interested in Chankanaab, you should do it on your own without booking through the cruise ship. You can catch a cab there, its $21 to get in at the gate (I think $15 for kids), and you can just buy your own food and drinks. They have a few different restaurants there. Also, if you sit out on the beach a waiter from one of the restaurants will come take your order.

I know the bar hop will bring us to Punta Morena, Coconuts, Play Bonita, and Rastas. Which place has the best food?

That should help you determine which pier you will be at. I've seen people swimming at a little small beach area right next to the road between Puerto Maya pier and the downtown area.

Well, how low did the price get? I went 2 years ago and got an hour massage for $20. Is that still offered?

I was in Progresso 2 years ago in February on elation. It was sunny and 85°....beautiful weather. Progresso is not a beautiful place but it's worth getting off the ship even to just walk around. I loved relaxing on the beach and getting an hour massage for $20. That alone was worth getting off the ship. While walking around many restaurants offered 2 margaritas for $5....beer was also cheap. I enjoyed my relaxing day.

I bring a nebulizer for my son. I've never needed an extension cord. The mouth piece has a long hose (along with the electrical cord) was plenty long enough to reach from the plug to the bed.
Mykindaparty. ...didn't we cruise together before?
