  1. I read this thread earlier today and it got me thinking (worrying) about the monkey portion of our Victor Bodden tour. We were really excited about seeing and holding the monkeys, then I considered rabies, etc.

I emailed Victor today and quickly got a reply. I asked if his monkeys received vaccinations or vet care. He said they are seen monthly by a vet and receive boosters regularly. He even gave me the name of their vet and said to feel free to contact them.

Doesn't mean they won't bite, but at least it shouldn't make you sick.

Just wanted to share the information.

    Yes, thank you!

  2. Do you think having food helped, hurt, or wouldn't make a difference in regard to being bitten?

My son was bitten by accident. He was feeding the monkey and it accidentally bit his finger trying to eat the fruit loops. Even though it wasn't a bad bite I still worried myself sick that he would catch a disease.

  3. We held the monkey's at Victor Bodden and one bit my son. I freaked out. I was so worried he would have a disease. We went to the doctor on the ship and he said people get bit there everyday. My son was fine.

They were precious. We brought a box of cheerios and a box of fruit loops with us to feed them. Once they tasted the fruit loops they pushed the cheerios away with their itty bitty hands. :)

    I would go there again.

  4. I was on the sunshine for thanksgiving and, I too, had the smallest room I've ever had. It was unreal. I had the very first room on the lido deck which was one of the brand new added rooms. I only used my room to sleep & didn't spend much time there so it's not a big deal but it was disappointing that they would add such a small room. PS I always get interior rooms on the lido deck on other ships.

  5. The only thing exciting about Passion Island is the speedboat ride there and back. It's quiet and relaxing but basically just a beach to a child. I think the 11 year old would have fun on the inflatables but I think it may be to strenuous for a 6 year old.

I have not been to playa mia but I have seen pictures. I think kids that age would have more fun at a water park

  6. I've been to Roatan at the Carnival port in mahogany bay and just stayed at the port on the beach. Can somebody tell me what is available across the street from the port? Someone told me it's a monkey farm....is that correct?

  7. I'm a local and I LOVE Katie's. The pizza is awesome and so is the "barge". The barge is a poboy about 3 feet long with fried shrimp, fish, and oysters on it. It's wonderful and feeds about 4 people for $40

Also, a little mexican hole in the wall in new orleans is Felipe's. It's freshly cooked and good.

Thin fried catfish at New Orleans Hamburger is really good too.

  8. I remember seeing a picture of the surfing thing at the port in Grand Turk. Does anybody know how much it cost to do it and do they normally have a long wait? Also, is that something that is booked through carnival?
