  1. I personally would never even consider a flight at that time after a cruise in Seattle. My parents have a 12:30 flight and that makes me nervous (they are slow, do not have TSA-Pre...). My flight is at 2:55 and I know I will have some waiting time but I'd rather have that than be pushing it!
  2. I highly recommend them as well. We went out with them in 2018 and it was awesome. We were scheduled to go out tomorrow on our NCL Sun cruise but the cruise was canceled due to the iceberg. We rebooked on the NCL Spirit later in the month and Glacier Winds was very helpful in moving our tour over to the new cruise with the super short notice. They are fabulous.
  3. It's not NCL's program, NCL just participates. It works for many cruise lines and airlines. I've used it twice (2018 and 2019 on HAL through Southwest). It's really a fantastic service and it's free! We always signed up for it on the ship. They brought the forms to your room on one of the last few nights (this was HAL). https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free
  4. Well the age of my son (17) had to be input when I booked so I assume they allow him. Wouldn't it have stopped me from booking?
  5. Over do, not overdue! Darn autocorrect.
  6. I do admit I did overdue it on my explanation but I did it, not to play a victim, but to prove a point to how he could have scrolled on by instead of scolding me. I also wanted to point out that you never know what is happening in the background of a simple question and it may be better to scroll by with a little grace than be "that person" that has to act holier than thou and scold everyone instead of just moving on. I am not a chronic poster who doesn't search and you can see that in my history of 45 posts in 11 years and 7 cruises! My issue is I am crunched for time and juggling a lot of balls in the air with little time to search and research. I thought the whole point of these forums was to help each other out. That is how I have always conducted myself here. I always help when I can and I scroll by what annoys me (well until today!).
  7. Thanks for confirming what I suspected. It's so hard to find clear information on the Spirit as it seems so much written about it was pre-refurbishment. My son will just have to be happy with us! 🙂
  8. Wow, sorry that I inconvenienced you so much that instead of just bypassing my annoying thread you stopped and spent time scolding me about it in multiple posts. I hope this made you feel really good to be able to make me feel like crap! Mission accomplished! To explain, we were booked on the Sun on the 5th and did not have adjoining rooms. I did a ton of research for that cruise as I had the luxury of time. You can look at my posting history to see that I wasn't posting non-stop annoying posts but took the time to search and research because I had the luxury of time! Our cruise was canceled on Thursday afternoon by NCL. We quickly worked via text/email with my elderly parents who live 300 miles away to rebook on the Spirit on the 18th (only 17 days to research and prepare). I have a hearing loss and have a cochlear implant and cannot hear on the phone so this all had to be done via text/email with older people who are not quick movers in planning or in the use of tech. This time our rooms are adjoining and I saw a comment in a Facebook group about opening dividers, as well as comments saying it might be against the rules so I was confused. I did a Google search "Can the balcony dividers be opened in adjoining rooms on NCL" and Google spat back a CC post but it was in the RCCL group. I read that and then I posted. Yes, I admit I committed the evil crime of not searching the NCL group with the exact term you, the expert, used. Again, the last 48 hours have been a craze of trying to rebook a cruise and all the excursions from the 5th cruise to the 18th instead. I am so, so, very sorry to have bothered you in such a way. I hope you can forgive this horrible transgression on my part. I will make sure to keep my mouth shut from now on and only read here and not post. As the other poster said I have only made 44 posts in my time here since 2011 and sailing on 7 cruises so it's not like I have a habit of posting frivolous questions all the time! I am so glad your 3800+ posts were all perfect and not a single one could have been answered with a search instead of a post. Congratulations.
  9. Is there is a teen club on the Spirit? We booked kind of quickly after our Sun cruise was canceled. While looking things over I am not seeing a teen club. It's not a huge deal, but my 17-year-old might like to meet some people his own age since he's cruising with mom, grandma, and grandpa!
  10. Thank you. That makes more sense in preventing the spread. I was trying to figure out how having it open would cause a fire!
  11. If that's the rule okay, but I am honestly curious how it is a fire hazard? I am not sure how that divider prevents fires? I have seen they do it on other cruise lines.
  12. Our Sun sailing was canceled for next week so we were able to rebook for the Spirit on the 18th. My son and I are traveling with my parents. With this new booking, we were able to get connecting balcony rooms next to each other. We'd like to open up the divider on balconies. Our bookings aren't connected (two separate reservations). Is it possible to get the divider on the balcony opened? I see here in a search that they do this on RCCL. Do they do it for NCL? Do we have to call ahead or do we just ask once we get to the ship? If at the ship, who do you ask?
  13. So it's a guarantee that it would be $40 in a cab from Pier 66 to Seatac after the cruise? Do the cabs there hold 4 people? We'd be using Port Valet for our luggage so would only have things we're carrying on.
  14. I hadn't heard that but could it be related to the rock slide that took out the dock in Skagway that docked the larger ships? How big is the Encore?
  15. I actually kind of envy you. You got to hit my favorite ports (Sitka and Icy Strait) and then Hubbard. Sounds like you're headed back through the inside Passage? With a full refund and a 100% FCC. Plus, you get to say you were on a ship that hit an iceberg! We're on the Sun sailing on the 5th wondering if it'll get canceled and sounds like we'd only get a refund and 50% FCC and no vacation at all so I kind of wish I was on your sailing!
  16. Thanks for posting that. In June 2018 we were supposed to stop in Victoria on a HAL cruise and it was too windy to dock so we just anchored out in the bay for a bit and then headed back to Seattle. Never got off or tendered at all. I think they do make exceptions, especially for your situation!
  17. The report on Facebook by someone on board said they just left Juneau and are going very slowly straight to Seattle. All the rest of the ports are canceled and they get a refund and future credit. Not sure how that bodes for those on cruises coming up. 😞
  18. Yikes! Please keep us updated. We're scheduled to sail on 7/5. Good luck!
  19. Thank you for the responses. I should elaborate. I already have a hotel booked (Courtyard by Marriott/Lake Union). We're there on the 4th of July so plan to watch the fireworks from the hotel the night before the cruise. I am thinking on cruise day it would be easier and maybe cheaper to have our Uber drop us off at either the Waterfront Marriott or the Edgewater and then just walk over. Likewise for disembarkment, just walk to one of those hotels and get an Uber to the airport. Is it difficult to cross that street? Is there a benefit for one of the other for an Uber drop off/pick up?
  20. Between the Edgewater Hotel or the Marriott Waterfront Hotel, which is easier to walk to Pier 66 to get on the cruise and to get off again?
  21. I am trying to get things planned and wondered if anyone can give me a ballpark figure for what an Uber cost would be around 11 AM on Monday, July 4th from the airport to the Courtyard Marriott in Lake Union? 2 people, 2-3 suitcases. I've never used Uber in Seattle before. Thank you!
  22. Can anyone give me an idea of what an Uber cost would be from SeaTac to the Courtyard Marriott in Lake Union around 11 AM on Monday, July 4th for 2 people and 3 suitcases? I've never used Uber in Seattle and wondering if the Premier Shuttle would be more economical for us?
