We were successful in our bid for a penthouse suite, but this is our first suite and I have questions. I found a list of all the amenities and I was wondering how the first-night specialty dining works. Do we just show up? How do we set up the mini-bar? We already have a standing reservation for dinner, but I see that there is a dining room for us, which one is that (we are on the Crown)? Is there anything else I need to know? Thank you!

It was new to me too, but I did find in a search that it has happened to another person one time (not for our cruise).

Our bid was accepted today! We originally had a balcony room on the Crown for July 25th and we placed bids for a premium balcony, mini-suite, and a mini-suite club class. About a week or two ago I received a counteroffer for the Club Class mini-suite to bid on a penthouse suite for $650 a person. We took the counter bid and it came through today!!!

We are going on the Crown in July and I am most looking forward to sitting in the Skywalker's Lounge to take in the views, as well as being able to walk around the entire promenade!

They had it on the Discovery in April.

Our 11-year-old daughter LOVED the kid's program this past April. She never wanted to do it before, but on this cruise she fell in love and always wanted to be there. And yes, she made so many awesome things!

Did they have a formal night on the cruise, or just the "dress to impress" nights?

We saw so many in Ketchikan that my husband referred to them as "freedom pigeons". 🙂

We just booked the Crown for July and we are excited for this older ship. We loved Skywalkers for whale watching, and we miss wrap-around promenade decks. The Crown has those, so we will look past the oldness of it (we were on the Discovery in April).

My daughter broke her arm in two spots 3 weeks before our cruise on Saturday! We have games packed and booked different excursions that do not involve water (we are going on a Mexican Riveria cruise).

Thank you so much! I don't even remember the parking lot from when we were there 4 years ago, so that street view is great.

We are driving to the port. this Saturday and we read it is better to drop off luggage first, before parking. Is this an easy process (well marked where drop off is and whatnot)? The last time we were there was 4 years ago and we had Uber drop off us. Thanks!

I had originally booked an excursion with Princess to go to the observatory, but they canceled it and took it off their excursion list! How did you get there and how much did it all cost? I just now read your second post... hahaha!

I got our bid approved tonight for a cruise on April 1st. We were in a deluxe balcony obstructed, and I bid $200 (per person) for a mini-suite and won the bid!

The reviews on the Princess site say that you can get off anywhere, and the next bus comes every 30 minutes. Some of the reviews mention you often have time at each site to take a quick photo and then hop back on. We are thinking of doing it in April.
