Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Also on Dec. 14th cruise, deck 8 port side and putting my hands together praying for repairs to be completed. Ewwww, this could be bad.
  2. We were on Vision in June, and we also like to have a glass of wine with dinner. I was given a wine list at dinner but still could not find a particular wine. The printed list was not the same as what you will find on the RC app once onboard. Later I did find Estancia on the app but it was not listed on the printed list. Furthermore, some wines were ONLY available in the main dining room. At least that is what we were told. Prices per glass about 9.00. Price per bottle is at least 3 to 4 times what you would pay at home and probably comes with a 15.00 uncorking fee (I don't know as we did not buy a bottle). Meomi was listed at 62.00 a bottle, no by the glass option. We can buy Meomi for 20.00 at home and have bought it for 15.00 in other states. If we are driving, we usually bring 2 bottles with us. Hope this isn't too confusing.
  3. You could always use the flashlight function on your phone. That is if you are awake enough and quick enough to think about that in an emergency.
  4. And another vote for Vision. We are booked Feb.24 on Vision out of Baltimore on a 12-day sailing to southern Caribbean, my favorite. We have been on both Enchantment and Vision, similar ships. Enchantment is slightly larger and IMO slightly more elegant. However, Vision has the dry and wet sauna to use for free. Also, one of my favorite things. Showers are available to use in the spa area which may be useful with 3 adults trying to get ready at the same time. The solarium is enclosed which is nice in colder weather. Less walking to get around on the smaller ships and a more personal experience as you will see the same people. Adventure is also a nice ship and worth considering. I am sure whatever you choose you will have a great time.
  5. From our May 2023 cruise It seems like a lot of the trivia was held in Some Enchanted Evening Lounge. Crossword challenge and word finders were Schooner's Bar. Both deck 6 and near the same area. Hope this helps.
  6. May 24th Vision of the Seas, main dinning room. Are you sure those lumps were lobster as our waiter stated it tasted like lobster but was NOT. His words, not mine.
  7. And for my 2 cents about RCL misleading I have another example.... how about the lobster macaroni and cheese that appears on the menu but does not contain ANY lobster. After ordering our server flat out told us it contains NO lobster. He wanted us to know that before he brought it out and we complained. He explained he was trying to avoid any trouble. Ohhhhhhhh perhaps that has happened before??? We of course changed our mind and ordered differently thanking him for that advice. I agree with the poster RCL is hoping we don't notice these cost cutting changes. MY opinion is that it is deceptive and doesn't sit well. I will make my own buyer beware choices.
  8. Perhaps this might help, search for cruisedeckplan.com. Click on the cruise ship icon top left and choose your ship then deck. Some cabins have a you tube video of the cabin, maybe you can figure out from there.
  9. Last May on Enchantment of the Seas we booked last minute and couldn't get a table for two. The head waiter was rather rude and stated he couldn't accommodate a table for two stating we booked too late. We were stuck with a table of eight. We tried the dining room for three nights and then ate at the Windjammer, or Izumi. So that warning could be true......
  10. The do have 9-night sailings out of Baltimore. It does not go to Miami. We will be on Vision of the Seas May 25, 2023, it goes to Cococay, Nassau, and Bermuda. Also, RC has a 9-night cruise to Canada in the fall. As previously mentioned, it does have a 12-night itinerary to Southern Caribbean.
  11. Thank you for posting, I am so excited because my SIL and BIL are on the ship with you, and we keep wondering what they are doing. This gives us a glimpse into their cruise. We wanted to go with them, but work restrictions did not allow.
  12. WOW, thanks for all the information on Coco beach club. I was also looking to book. For our May cruise it is on "sale" for 196. pp and Dec before Christmas is a whopping sale of 283.99 pp. We are going to pass on that is just too much money.
  13. Years ago we were on a cruise with a large motorcycle group. We did not know at the time of booking but were well aware on embarkation as a sea of people in "biker" apparel was present. They did take up a large part of the ships venues. I felt very much an outsider on a cruise with them as they had their own events we could not participate in. We wish we had known as we rode motorcycles at that time and could have packed our biker clothes to blend in. Then another time it was a quilting cruise. Mostly ladies that used the conference room for class, no interruptions at all.
  14. We just got off the Enchantment in June. Yes, she is a bit rusty in spots noticed when standing on land looking up at the balcony ceilings. She did drip water from the angled window in the spotlight lounge and I saw resulting warped floorboards. We booked last minute interior room and found the furnishings the same as our 20-year-old memory. Keep in mind she was sitting vacant for almost 2 years, rust happens. Having said all that, I would sail Enchantment again in a heartbeat. She has such a grand style/personality, I found beautiful details in so many areas even the public restrooms. Windows are everywhere! Easy to walk and get to venues. I adored the Viking Crown Lounge; any seat will give you a great view. The solarium is covered which helps in cool weather. Did I mention the yummy pizza on deck 9, pool deck? I like to say, yes, she is old but very elegant. I have not been on Quantum so I cannot truly compare. Just my honest opinion, I hope this helps.
