  1. Pictures of every person I converse with on a cruise
  2. This is so true.People moved from my block after their children got married and were out of the house. Some to NJ,some to LI and several to Westchester .My older daughter got married and moved to Li.We followed her and moved to the same town.Several people followed us . My nephews and my niece who lived in Brooklyn all live in Westchester now.
  3. Toby did it .She knew that I would not be able to go to a restaurant anywhere and she knew how much I will enjoy it.She is preparing all the food for everyone.
  4. In 1983 Toby and I bought our first house after 16 years of living in apartments. The house was owned by an Architect who had to sell because he was relocating to NJ.We paid $80,000 which was a lot at that time.It was a 4 story house with two full bathrooms and one half bathroom. The area of the house was absolutely beautiful and we had wonderful neighbors.By 2000 we were the only people living on the block from those who lived there in 1983. We kept in touch with several neighbors by phone and e-mail but aside from an occasional lunch or dinner with one or two couples were last together with everyone that we knew close to 20 years ago.A few weeks ago Toby reached out to those we are in contact with and suggested a group get together . They are all coming to my house tomorrow. Some are coming from NJ and the others from various parts of NY.I have been looking forward to this reunion for so long and it is finally here.
  5. I normally have to book two years in advance.Prior to my last cruise I overheard a conversation in which a person was saying that even though she and her husband are not handicapped they always book Accessible cabins because they are larger. The ship that the cruise I desired to book supposedly did not have any accessible cabins .I wrote a letter to the CEO of the cruise line stating the conversation I overheard .A few days later I received a call telling me that there was a cancellation and that I could book the cabin.
  6. I also need my walker 24/7.I cannot cruise without an Accessible cabin and it is usually a verbal battle to get one because cruise lines tend not to ask for proof of disability. I lost my parents when I was in my 30’s.
  7. I avoid the aggressive vendors by wearing a Labadee tee shirt and saying out loud that I have been there before.
  8. I had a doctor who is still working at age 90.He stopped his practice at age 82 to become a medical consultant but missed treating his patients and resumed his practice.
  9. My younger daughter runs in Marathons all over the world including the New York Marathon but she is skipping it this year.
