I took a class in college Theory of Calculus in lieu of Calculus. It was very boring.I hated Algebra ,Geometry and Trigonometry.I took Geology instead of Chemistry once I changed from a pre DVMD Major.
Many mandatory courses in college are worthless unless they are related to what one majored in.I completed the majority of required courses prior to my Senior year and was able to take some really enjoyable Electives.
In 1965 a friend of mine left NYC to take a job as a college Professor in Hawaii.Eight years ago he came to NY to speak at a symposium and met me and another longtime friend for lunch. He brought pictures and told us about how wonderful it is to live in Maui.
He retired a few years ago and is still living there.I have been checking the online lists of residents who are missing but so far he is not on the list.
In a few weeks a guy who I have been friends with since 1947 but we only communicate by phone and e-mail is coming to NY from his home in Oregon and will be visiting me.
Every RCI cruise I have been on since 2009 and that is many I have been to Sorrento’s day and night and have yet to find it empty.
Having said that ,everything in life is a matter of opinion .You do not like Sorrento’s and I do.Enjoy the wonderful weather predicted for NJ today.
I am sure that you do not regret your decision to concentrate on your studies.I was just the opposite .I began college with the intent of becoming a Veterinarian but did not concentrate on my studies.I had a good career in another field but regret that it took me a while to become a student.
There are many restaurants in Long Island named Sorrento’s and whenever I am in one they are always mobbed, especially the one that was in the Roosevelt Field Food Court.
I got a call today from a guy who I last saw in 1955.He was on vacation in South Carolina and met another long lost friend The guy he met told him that he was in touch with me and he asked for my phone number .
I saw the name on the caller ID and was pleasantly surprised. He lives in Delaware .We spoke for nearly an hour discussing our lives for the past 68 years.
My problem is that none of the doctors that I have been to can tell for certain if my mobility problems are because of the Parkinsons or the Spinal Stenosis. My in home Physical Therapist is treating me for both. She suggested that I try going to a Holistic Doctor and she is trying to find one for me.
Toby is doing well.Thank you ,as always ,Graham
