Yes I do understand that we can buy one day . I think at this point intime ,I will leave all the tech studd behind . We have our cell phines if in a emergency . I was cancelling out e-mails & answering e-mails on cruises we took in March & we got the internet free .It was 2 Celebrity cruises from San Pedrp . We hqve free stuff from the casino deals . Seemed ro me I spent far too much time on a computer .so ,we decided that leave the tech stuff off the ship & enjoy the cruise Cliff

For our purposes the older ships have far less handicap cabins than the newer ships like Koningsdam . however ,neuther if them really excell in numbers of handicap cabins ,so we must book very early vto get the vabin we want . We can never sail on Sandam or Loendam because of the limited handicap cabins & only a suite of those vessels has a balcony which is another begative ofr us / We hope any new built ships will have more handicap cabins

Deck 3 promenade deck has 2 Handicap EE cat cabins by the rear elevators one to starboard side under the stairwell of deck 4 .While the other one on Port side is under a blank area & I suspect that is part of the galley .Thus ,the one on Starboard would be the e cabin imo

Crystal the premium os quite expensive .All we wanted was the ability to cancel e-mails & perhaps forward some of them . Ay that $34.95 per day rate we will just forget the internet & handle cancellating e-mails when we get home . I ask friends & relatives not to send any w0mails while wexzare away . however ,the junk mails are so numerous these days ,on our 18 day Hawaii cruise ,I will come hoome to approc 800 ji=unk e-mails . .We think most people are getting these afbertising type e-mails becuae our e,mail adress gets sold & so does every ones e-mail address when you add yjr e-mail cost into the Havitall with ppf gratuities it makes sense to have the pkg ig a person uses the e-mail part of the phm .jpwever ,that also takes awayfun time on the ship . so I yjonk we will just pass on e-mail .Because we are not alcohol drinkers m the Hace Itall plan does bot work for us .Ocassionally ,I like a soda & pay for it .My DW is a tea drinker ,sje loves ice rea with lots of lemon . If we do want a dlass of wine at dinner ,we will buy it & that also would be very seldom if at all . We never use gard liquor Cliff

The only time I am in the casino is when we do the Fun Dlot Pull putting the odds in ur favor & diubg a Fyn Craps roll again putting the odds in our fabor .Careless about free drinks , Learned many uears afo free drinks in any xasino are Never Free LOL

Can we spend the on board credits in the shops as well as the special restaurants on board ? Are there ant limitations ? TIA

Hurricane Hilary is now a tropical storm hitting the San Diego area with high winds * lots of rain .Because of low areas flooding ,it is dangerous to drive .Here on the coast of San Diego we will het most likely 3 inches of rain but ,the inland desert areas will get hit much worse with flooding ,areas like Palm Springs due to run offs from the mountains We been in the low to mis 70s here on the coast of San Diego county .Have not needed A/C /Feel bad for areas of our country suffering high heat

San Pedro / LA is horrible . First off flying in can be a night mare with ground traffic from LAX on the freeways , If you f=drive there ,it is very expensive to park & to find your car after the cruise is another nightmare .I can personally attest to that as we did B2B cruises on Soltice in March & never again from that location

We remember that time when Ensenada was the bioarding , Yes SD airport is only a 10 minute uber or taxi to the cruise port ,very convenient .Additionally ,SD has so many great things to see & do with the great weather here .Can't understand why X would not berth a ship here .so many cruises & then come late April /early May send the ship to Alaska for that short season .This all makes sense to us

where we dock is all in the hands of Holland's head office in Seattle .We are waiting to gear .Customer service told us they will send out a e-ail to every one .And we wait

Why doesn't Celebrity port a M or S class ship here in San Diego ,There is so much opportunity for Hawaii cruise ,south Pacific cruises ,Mexican Riviera cruises ,Coastal Calif Cruises & even Panama Canal cruises . We really need a Celebrity ship here .San Diego has the best weather in the USA ,it has many many superb attractions ,Just seems to me there is a huge market opportunity out of the port of San Diego

Yes totally agree , After checking into some other lines we always come back to booking a HAL cruise . We no longer can fly because my DW has a inner ear problem & we are active mis 80s . so we sail only from our home port in San Diego now . There are 3 itineraries we book Hawaii , Mexico & Coastal Calif cruises .We have been all over this world on past cruises ,Hal's koningsdam is our next 3 booked cruises with nothing less than 14 days & 2 with 18 day cruises .We book balcony cabins always ,so we can view the tranquil ocean & oh the sleep is fantastic We don't take the HIA promo as we are not drinkers nor do we need the internet .We get enough OBC for early booking Mariner ,CCL stock benefit & what our TA gives us . We always cover our tips with OBCs & left over for special restaurants We do upgrade right away in booking to Club Orange mainly for the special restaurant & cabin upgrade😀

Being Elite Plus with Celebrity & 3 Star Mariner with Holland America .the main differences I see is in the entertainment . Celebrity has Broadway style shows & other music through out the ship in small groups to as little as one guitar player . .Celebrity has entertainment past midm=night .Holland America lacks Broadway style shows uses a dance Team repeatedly for shows & has Music Walk with the Rolling Rock Group--rock music ,Billboard on board 2 pianos with vocalists singing more typical songs & Blues Club which has some dancing & occasionally will have a comedian .They also have a studio for arts .This is on their Pinnacle Class ships . HAL has the Dutch Cade which is excellent The more I think of it they both pretty well match up fairly closely .Then holland does have long itineraries which Celebrity generally does not .except trans Atlantics ie

As far as port we will wait for HAL's announcement

We always have had great service with HAL laundry & very pleased .good to know what to do if one of our items gets misplaced .Of course we hope that does not happen

When & how should we hear from HAL as to whether they will use the Kahului Deep Sea port i the industrial side of Maui in lieu if the horrific fire at Lahania , Our cruise to Hawaii in Jan 30 ,2024

Thanks every one for4 your replies . so we should get $200 per cruise of 18 & 14 days booked very early .We don't take the HIA because candidly we can't make use of the drink or wifi packages & we rather do private tours were we can . I have to book early to secure a VH handicap & the use Club Orange to upgrade ,That is where we splurge is on C,O.

We have 2 cruises ,one is a 18 Day Hawaii cruise & the other is a 14 day Mexico & vCoastal Calif cruise .We booked very early .what should be the Mariner early booking on board credits ? TIA

10 years ago we were staying 2 weeks in a Kekei gated condo ,rented a car & drove over to Kahului .We did go for the 2nd tome to the Needlel . So it seems that wither rent a car of do Holland tours . We been through all the areas you mention & much more like the road to Hana .We been to the Ocean park & I snorkled at Mallkini Reef .So we done pretty much all of it .Perhsps we will just enjoy the ship being empty if it docks in kahuui , We have the pool ,hot tuns snacks all there aboard ship

We hope that this all works well for every one concerned . For us it would be easier going into a deep sea port to go for tours vs tendering . We all will need to wait & see what Holland has in mind about Maui or adding on to another Hawaiian port a day . We are ok with either way

How far id that from Kanapali & Kapalula .Can we get public transport to those areas ?
