  1. We all should ask why the Cruise Critic party is still suspended when most cruises are wide open from the heaviest pandemic days ; which are now behind us . Seems to me Celebrity is not wanting to do these parties any longer ,another cost cutting move ;but not customer favorable We know that we can arrange the connections Party (Meet & Mingle ) ourselves ;however ,it was really a nice touch to see the invitation in your State room upon arrival that first day aboard ship
  2. It was much nicer when we could log into the Cruise Critic Party here on line & it was confirmed . Does any one know if or when Celebrity will resume the Cruise Critic on board parties ?😀
  3. Not if the ship stops at Vancouver Island Canada before ending in Seattle .
  4. Try the ABTA in my post above . If this is real then they can get Princess to own up to their commitments . imo , I believe that Princess is purposely holding back people's monies ,if they can get away with it because Carnival corp needs cash desperately . Of course this tactic would never be exposed to the public but ,we have to ask ourselves why is it so difficult to get back what we own ? All that Princess is doing successfully is alienating a lot of customers & potential cruise customers .Seems to us they are experts at that task . All this will achieve is ti back fire
  5. We thank every one for their contributions . We too prefer Seattle R/T for the round trip 14 night cruise because airfares are less costly one & two Vancouver charges a premium at the airport as well . Perhaps our request will start a change if every one requests Seattle over Vancouver .
  6. We never had this problem with any cruise line until now . Holland America makes it easy to place our pre boarding information as does Celebrity cruise line . We have to ask why has Princess gone away from a simple format on line pre boarding to a hugely unpopular electronic system of Ocean Ready & Medallion .The only answer we can imagine is to cut back on labor . But by what cost to their over all booking business ?
  7. We just sent a e-mail to the travel agent involved .we advised the Travel Agency (we are working with a VP there ) that Princess is part of a organization called "ABTA & theri number there is V8764 .They have the authority to negotiate a settlement .We cancelled this cruise of Dec 3, 2022 on September 2 ,2023 in time for no penalties . We have over $1100 due back to us . Either this gets settled with this ABTA organization or it gets settled in a California small claims court & we also live in California as does Princess corporate offices .
  8. Thanks we have cruise many cruise lines including HAL ,Princess ,Celebrity , Royal Caribbean & Carnival .This is the first time we have ever experienced such "don't care attitudes " " from untrained personnel . Seems to me that Carnival corporation needs to step in & get Princess on track before there is a mass exodus from this cruise line . Successful business make their service or products very user friendly
  9. Those are not the ones I was referring to .The one that HAL did a while back included Kodiak Island , Valdez & the port of Anchorage ,along with all the other Alaska ports .We been to Denali National Park & Fairbanks on land ourselves .The 14 day cruise was very unique for Alaska & HAL does a great job up there .
  10. We really tried & the travel agent was also useless . We had to cancel this cruise for Dec 3 ,2022 on Sept 2 ,2022 which gave us adequate time for no penalties . However , it seems that eith Primcess or the TA are trying to asess a $246 penalty . our credit card company has been advised & yjeru eill vredit the entire amount on a tentative basis .My e-mails are all dated ,so sending a cancelling e-mail on Sept 2 ,2022 was more than 90 days un advance ,Thus .no penalties should be accessed .since I live in Calif & Ptiincess is head quartered in the city of Santa Clarita Calif ,they are subjected to a small claims court action should I have to bring that action against them .Truly ,this whole saga has left a bitter taste for Princess cruises . As a marketing professional all my life it is very difficult to understand their lack of trained personnel & telling us we are in penalty . Well perhaps they like to sit in a court room & cool their heals for one or more days .I am retired & have all the time I need to pursue this action if need be .My documents would loose the case for Princess .We also can stay at our daughters in the same city .I just find this so crazy .
  11. Apparently Princess has hired a ton of new Customer service personnel but we came to find out how little they knew about putting into their web site things like pass port information ,emergency contact info ie . We were on the phone recently for over 6 hours getting completely frustrated .Then the other day we ran into a person in the city of Santa Clarita , CA . , .headquarters that was able to direct us to the area to log that info into the web site .Then we got stuck because the last item is a security picture .I said how do you get your picture on their web site ? Well the end result is we cancelled the cruise ,dumped the $924 FCC & Booked a Holland America cruise .Having done 87 past cruises this is the most frustrating experience we ever had with any cruise line . It just seems to us that Princess can & does loose paz do to one untrained personnel & secondly a too complicated web site to put pre boarding information in . We had no problem doing the pre boarding with Holland America .Same with Celebrity for B2B cruises in March Have you also run into this situation with Princess ?
  12. Now that Soltice is out in the LA marketing area doing Mexican Riviera cruises ,wonder if Celebrity would consider doing Round Trip Hawaii cruises from San Diego or Los Angeles ? These were very successful for Holland America from San Diego .
  13. At one time HAL was doing a 14 day Alaska cruise ;which included Kodiak Island & Valdez & Anchorage .Does any one know if HAL will go back to doing that cruise in the future . We have been to Alaska 5 times but missed taking that one cruise ;which seems to be a more inclusive cruise for Alaska
  14. At one time HAL was doing a 14 day Alaska cruise ;which included Kodiak Island & Valdez & Anchorage .foes any one know if HAL will go back to doing that cruise in the future . 15. Today is Saturday Sept 3 ,2022 ,Yesterday I spent many hours trying to get any one at Princess to help with this new technology wizard , however ,none of these foreign so called customer service people have ir will ever have imo any clue . I now believe that Carnival corp is hold ing on with a thread financially as they recently had to issue a billion dollars in new stock to stay afloat ,so customer service is taking a long hind position . Because I can read financials I decided not to cruise with any Carnival corp cruise line .For all I know I be holding the bag during a bankrupt situation ,like a case many years ago & the creditors forced the cruise customers off the vessels . This is how I read todays financial woes of Carnival corporation . Therefore I decided to cancel my princess cruise & loose the $934 in future cruise credits which will expire Dec 31st ,Save the aggravation & my cash from further harm
  16. We got it on 2 cruises in March but not the Dec 11th cruise on Soltice from San Pedro .LA county sailing . Imo it is never consistent . The Net 60 deal was the best .
  17. Carnival Corp is in bad shape & their stock price reflects that .imo they will do anything they need to get more people on ships including longer cruises no testing required .This will be coming along in the near future .Sad but true ."Follow the Money "
  18. Wow they really need the money so here goes more people coming back with covid . BTW we know people who got B5 on a cruise & they were vaccinated . He took 3 weeks & told me that every day coughing & very difficult to get any thing up . His wife is still ill after 5 weeks . The cruise lines will be hard pressed to attract many older people . Thus ,they will have to cater to the young . Watch out below .
  19. Hank covid variant illness is rising in San Diego county once again . I don't tell people not to cruise ;but there are people getting sick on cruise ships & worse . From what I read on this thread all the posts are mainly from people who will cruise regardless . However ,Carnival stock is below $10 per share & RCL is in the $30s .This in its self tells a lot about the future of this industry . This forum represents such a small fraction of the people who cruise & have cruised . Thus , the above selling prices of their stocks speaks volumes With all the medical science & technology that is available now & in the future ,we can only hope that there is a safer way to cruise . It just seemed to me that any one who must fly to a cruise port would take a test prior to flying in & then test again in the port city. It is absolutely correct that even one person with this virus will infect many on any vessel . We dearly miss cruising but we consider out health more of a priority . Thus ,we will travel more locally by our own car & protect ourselves accordingly We wish you safe voyages . This is my last post regards to this topic .
  20. We are 83 each & have enjoyed HAK & other cruise lines for a total of 87 cruises when there was no virus danger Just Seems to me that the cruise lines would benefit by testing at the pier because getting tested 2 or 3 days prior to boarding DOES NOT mean that a person could be asymtomatic ,not showing signs of the virus yet can infect many other pax ,on the ships Is there really any reason why all cruise lines could not test at the pier to lessen the probability of serious cases .They could even stager arrival times to lessen back up crowds Unless cruise lines take a more proactive approach ,we & probably many other seniors will not cruise .Who wants to get sick or worse ? With Princess we have over $1300 in future cruise credits & will loose them the end of this year if we do not cruise before Dec 31st , We decided our well being was more important
  21. We have over $900 in FCCs which expire the end of this year , Because of many cruise cases of the virus & flight problems ,we can not cruise ,We are both 83 with undelying medical conditions Is there any way to salvage the FCCS for the future ?
  22. Does anyone consider the problems of flying in todays world to get to any cruise ship . Thousands of flight delays & cancellations .Thus ,how do the cruise lines deal with this on top of a virus that will never disappear like the yearly flu ?
  23. A major problem which has not been addressed here are the airlines who are delaying & cancelling many flights . How does this impact the cruise industry presently ?
  24. Your experience is very detailed & we appreciate your efforts here .This just adds another reason for us not to cruise any longer .Ships are petrie dishes & imo dangerous to the elderly & those with underlying medical conditions .Additionally ,crews seem totally unprepared to address covid isolation cases
  25. Unfortunately we are 83 with medical underlying conditions .Therefore we no longer feel safe on any cruise ship . We did our part during pre covid with taking 87 cruises . For those who feel confident in their safety we hope that they enjoy all their cruises
