Regent Flights - with and without deviation
1982CruzStart replied to Travelcat2's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
if Regent cancels the cruise then in the past they have refunded the deviation fee or if you transfer the booking to another cruise when they have cancelled they will transfer the deviation fee against the new booking. If you cancel, as Wendy said, the deviation fee is non-refundable. -

The pictures and comments have been so wonderful. Can't thank you enough for taking us along. Hope you are fully recovered or recovering well mdunne48. -
We did this as a post cruise trip with Regent. Echo the Spectacular comment. In our case it was the end of a Bejing to Bangkok trip and were able to take this as the included trip and paid for the pre-cruise trip in Bejing. This was part of our Dubai to Cape Town cruise and it was very well done. We missed Goa, 1 day in Mumbai and arrived back in Mangalore so saw very little of it but the trip to the Taj Mahal and just as importantly the Red Fort were well worth missing the other ports. We left Mumbai on the 2nd day there so we did get to tour Mumbai for 1 day. This was alot of fun. It took us 2 cruises to get to some of these ports but they were both well worth it.

What is required and what is the reality can be vastly different. When flying domestically a couple of months ago you would not have known that masks were required. There were almost as many without them as with them in the airport in YYZ and YYC. On the planes, many were not wearing masks but i suspect they were using the active eating or drinking loophole as an excuse. I didn't see any actions being taken by either the flight attendants or desk agents as i am sure they are just tired or terrified of being attacked for doing their job.

Voyager comparison to Explorer?
1982CruzStart replied to BearClaws's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
I sail for the itinerary so the ship is less of a choice for me. Most of our cruises have been on Voyager and really enjoy her but if Voyager and Explorer were offering the exact same itinerary we want for about the same price, I would pick Explorer over Voyager. The F2 suites on Explorer are better than the equivalent suites on Voyager as well I really enjoy going to Pacific Rim and being able to have lunch in the specialty restaurants. At the moment we have only 1 more cruise booked (we had to cancel this year and last) and it is on Voyager cuz it is going where we want to go. I will be looking for a cruise to book using onboard booking for Explorer or Splendor going forward for the reasons stated above. -
Looking forward to whatever reports you send our way during your cruise. Have a wonderful time.

We love ours, happens to be the exact same one as above. It sits on our fireplace mantel and we enjoy looking at it every day. -

Tipping for Tour Guides and Bus Drivers
1982CruzStart replied to doowopbob's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
There are some great online websites that will provide information on tipping in various countries and how easily it is for the people of that country to accept USD or Euros in place of their own currency. I would not expect anyone in tourism to refuse a tip but in some countries, the cost of exchanging anything but their own currency can render the tip almost useless. Do a little research, it will make life easier for those people you are trying to thank for their hard work. -
In the past, based on recommendations from the people on this forum, I have written emails to Jason Montague regarding situations i thought required a response. On both occasions i received a response from him (likely his office and not him personally but who knows) with a satisfactory resolution to my enquiry. I advise that course of action. I don't have the email address off the top of my head but i am sure it isn't that hard to find. Good luck. I think the OP has been treated very poorly.

Thanks mdunne48 for your pictures and commentary. I am really enjoying joining you on your trip. We had a similar itinerary booked for next month but were forced to cancel due to DH's health. Have a super trip. -
How to Opt Out of Regent Brochures/Mailings?...
1982CruzStart replied to rkaratsu's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Mike Moore has written in the past that if you contact him, he will get you removed from the mailings. His email address is posted in various places on this forum, so should be easy to find when doing a search. -
According to the Regent site final payments are: 120 days before for cruises of 14 nights or less 150 days for 15 nights or longer I think the 90 days out were special circumstances because they were still dealing with covid cancelations and trying to keep more people from canceling.

my first choice is right side aisle but if the right side aisle is too far back i will go with left side aisle.
