  1. I certainly hope they won't attract so many "blind followers" as you call them. They're the ones who can't see the forest for the trees. No sense of adventure! Royal delivers a ship that is a marvel of modern engineering and all some people can see is that their set dining habits have been tampered with? C'mon now. Put some big boy panties on and embrace the future.

    [emoji1] agreed.

  2. Negative comments aside, most passengers I met onboard were having a whale of a time and didn't let these glitches affect their mood. I tell you, when we were partying in the music hall to great live music, or watching that fantastic show Starwater in Two70, everyone was very happy. Seems to me that some people are very easily disappointed! Geez, some people on here take life too seriously! Again, MOST passengers enjoyed this cruise, that was abundantly clear while onboard. And Royal providing an extra $300 and free Internet was a very fair acknowledgment of the glitches, none of which prevented anyone having a great time, if they wanted to.

  3. As eroller mentioned also, I thought it was great seeing all the little problems that arose! More fun for me watching technicians trying to fix bionic bar than watching it work properly!

Hilarious seeing the north star get stuck (and those that got stuck also enjoyed!), all these things I expected and most of them added to the sense of adventure on this new ship, made all the better by the great staff who fearlessly tried their best to cope while still smiling (even in the face of some rude and obnoxious passengers).

One of my cherished memories on this great ship, and appreciated the acknowledgment by Royal in the form of $300.

Great staff, great ship, great fun! How much more fun all the teething problems made it, and thrilled to have been part of it.

Great food, great cabin staff, great barmen in the music hall!

  4. The executives were given comped bottles of Champagne and this lady got into a verbally abusive spat with one of the engineers of the robotic company. She was even on a microphone and said publically that the reason they could not get this to work, as she instructed; was due to the sexism of the male technicians.

As you can tell, this "Lady VP" was a real class act!!:p:eek:

I think she was joking actually. But some people don't see a joke.

When I read your review now, it reminded me of something I posted elsewhere. Did you visit guest services at all?

I thought most of us expected that these sort of things were going to occur on a first voyage. As reported by many others prior to this sailing, maidens are prone to a bit of shaking down.

I think Royal were very fair in giving a future 25% discount and $300 spending onboard to make up for it.

Oh, and refunding the internet package, which, while not great, worked and was.certainly great for free.

Seeing some of the whining about little things by passengers in guest services was disappointing, made me feel for the poor staff who had to endure what was, quite frankly, pure rudeness.

  5. Unfortunately it is their ship and their responsibility. If you accept payment from passengers you need to know things will be working. Just one of many things that was out of order.

  6. Northstar was flying yesterday and the queue was quite long. I've heard wait times from 2.5 to 4 hours. But it was a nice, sunny day. standing about can get tedious, but at least there was sunshine and fresh air. I could see it going up and out from my lovely deck chair in the Solarium. That is a very nice, relaxing space. The hot tubs are cool and have a nice view. I can see myself back in there today.

No way would I wait that long for a one minute ride. Not even Disney have lines that long. Something Royal has to work on.

North Star is about 12 minutes in the air, the IFly is 1 minute.

  7. So, I was in a line for North Star this afternoon hoping to get a second trip in it when it got stuck for a half hour today at full height in the air, with 14 passengers inside giving them a much longer than anticipated ride!!

They got it down eventually but then they couldn't get the door open for another 5 minutes!

So passengers eventually out in good spirits but they think that North Star is finished for this cruise while they check it out.

It's amazing though, I got to do it this morning before this problem!
