Besides the Acropolis, no I don’t know what other tourist sites are in Athens. I’m not into history that much. When I think of Greece, I think about the beautiful blue water and those beautiful white building along the coast. For dh and I, we enjoy a little history, but we also love to see beautiful places, and I love a beautiful beach. I’m Rome, we will focus on history. In Naples, we would prefer the Amalfi Coast over Pompeii, but will do both of we have the time. I guess we just want a mix of beautiful and interesting things. We will spend whatever necessary to do the excursions we want to do. We do not have a suite booked with NCL. Our friends didn’t want to spend the money on one, because same as you, they said this cruise is all about the ports. We just booked a veranda. Our TA said our balcony will face the ports. I hope he’s correct! Italy is the perfect cruise for our 30th! I’ve always wanted to go there. Adding the NCL cruise with our closest friends would just be the icing on the cake. They are like family. We celebrate special occasions like birthdays and holidays together. We are going to a winery with one of them today to celebrate Father’s Day. We pretty much have Italy and Barcelona planned already. Pages printed and in a binder with our itinerary. As you say, I have a year to plan the others. We’re excited about Croatia on the NCL itinerary as well.

Are any bars considered signature venues? I know there’s a place that sells a chocolate martini that isn’t included, but is that all?

Thank you! On FB several people are saying the Europa YC is too crowded because they have too many YC cabins for the small space. It’s nice to hear a different opinion because we’re looking at possibly sailing on her next summer. We wouldn’t eat that late, although I know many Europeans do. I look forward to reading about your experience as well!

Similar question as mackfam. I’ve heard some find the YC layout poor on this ship and that the yacht club feels crowded because there are too many YC cabins for the size of the pool deck, lounge, and grill area. What are your thoughts on this?

We watched a YouTube video last night on a few of the top rated ports in Greece. Some of the were absolutely breathtaking! Made me want to go even more, but didn’t seem to phase him.

They need a lock on it like Celebrity does to enter the retreat deck.

You may have mentioned this already, but I’ve you been on the Seaview as well? We are looking at one of these ships for the Mediterranean next summer.

true They aren’t open for then yet. I’m not sure how much difference various seasons make in the cost between one airport and another. Can’t wait to hear what you decide! I am!! I’m going to feel like a Princess with it being our first time in a suite with benefits. Lol This could be dangerous territory though. When we first started we booked portholes or ocean views. Then we got a balcony and never looked back. Then concierge class, and the last one was aqua…it’s a slippery, expensive slope! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I do love the overnight in Livorno with Celebrity! However, MSC seems like a much better value. Our cruise is a week from tomorrow. We will have to see if we like it well enough to book with them again.

I’m sure I am overthinking it. It a trait I just can’t seem to shake. Sigh. We live in Charlotte, so we are used to hot summers. 🥵 Hope you enjoyed Paris!

I see it hasn’t been refurbished since 2017. Does it look old? I’m not too concerned about entertainment because it’s 9 days Athens to Greece and has a different port every day! I think I will be exhausted after dinner!! Speaking of dinner, how’s the food? Does it have the pub with the good food?

Being a teacher, I’m not able to travel then.

I’m not even going to start looking for things to see and do in Greece unless/until he gives the ok. I wouldn’t want to be disappointed!

That wouldn’t ruin my cruise but would certainly make my yacht club experience a major disappointment!

We could do that with either cruise. Is there a lot to see there? I haven’t researched Greece at all!
