I’ve reserved a cabana. So, in order to select one, I need to go to the Shore Excursions desk on embarkation day, right?

    Hi @CruzerDeb🙂

Yes, go to the Shore Excursions Desk as soon as you board on embarkation day to pick out your cabana.

    Have a wonderful sailing!

Perhaps we should ask @ObstructedView2 how they manage to quickly find older threads to link to a repeated question.  They don't seem to have much trouble finding what they need.

    Hey @staceyglow🙂

How are you? My method of locating older threads that have already been created, in my effort in (Helping) any member that I possibly can, via the helpful (comments) that may be in that older or even recently created thread, is quite simple.

But its just not about locating older threads/topics. That's only a teenie tiny minute slice. The bigger picture is searching all sorts of defined searches that can assist or help answer someone's question.

Mainly, Its About The Ability To Search Anything & Everything On Cruise Critic. Threads going back years, months or weeks are extremely easily found.

Also topics & articles created by Cruise Critic writers & staff can be searched & located. So many people forget these exist. Tons of valuable information is right here on Cruise Critic already created by writers & staff members.

But you're inquiring about locating older threads created by members on Cruise Critic.

I use Google or other search engines to (Search Cruise Critic Itself). Along with a lot of semi colons and a lot of various word switching. I never use the search feature here. Results are terrible.

    Topic example, (let's use Hairdryers)

I'll go to Google & type in:

    Cruise Critic: Carnival: Hairdryers

    Results, click below

(Click Here) Cruise Critic Posts - Carnival Hairdryers

Any Cruise Critic topic (Can Be Searched), just not easily on Cruise Critic, LOL! It's best & easiest to search Cruise Critic using a search engine instead of its own search feature.

It doesn't have to be just Carnival, it HAS to be Cruise Critic.

    Cruise Critic: Celebrity: Hair Dryers

    Cruise Critic: Princess: Hair Dryers

Cruise Critic: Royal Caribbean: Hair Dryers

This topic/thread, as well. Go to Google & type in:

    Cruise Critic: Carnival: Pet Peeves

Cruise Critic: Royal Caribbean: Pet Peeves

Any Cruise Critic topic, any Cruise lines.

Cruise Critc: Royal Caribbean: Door Slammers

    Cruise Critic: Carnival: Door Slammers

    Cruise Critic: Celebrity: Door Slammers

    Cruise Critic: Carnival: Cheers Package

    Cruise Critic: Princess: Drink Program

Cruise Critic: Royal Caribbean: Bathroom Outlet

    Cruise Critic: Aruba: Reviews

    Cruise Critic: Aruba: Excursions

And so on & so on.... The search possibilities & results ARE ALMOST ENDLESS...

So sorry I rambled. Take care @staceyglow🙂

I asked this question on the Ask a Cruise Question board but it was suggested I move it over here to the Carnival board.  How do back to backs work if you are doing both cruises on the same ship, in the same cabin?  Can you leave your stuff in the cabin and just disembark then re-embark?  Stay on the ship?  What is Carnival's policy?  We'd be sailing out of Galveston if that matters.

Cove balcony I was able to put on a 48 hour hold.  I am concerned though because I think it is under the galley.  Can anyone tell better than me if Cove Balcony 2392's location will suck?

    Hi @mominwestlake🙂

Personally, I'd stay away from Cove Balcony 2392 on Horizon at all costs. Yes its under the Galley. You'll most certainly hear loud kitchen crashing sounds; thumping & banging; followed by more loud kitchen crashing sounds. I would not rely on ear plugs.

When in doubt, don't.. Unfortunately it's just not worth the savings.

I need to cancel due to medical problem.  I have trip protection.  Any tips???

    Hi @bds611🙂

I'm so terribly sorry to hear this, I hope all will be ok. Unfortunately there are far too many questions needed about your trip Insurance being used (Example: Carnival or Private); the Coverage limitations of your plan; When the cruise is; If its paid off; If the Medical issue is covered, and many more..

There's too much information you'd have to divulge on a public forum in effort to obtain rock solid answers/tips. My best tip is to phone your insurance company ASAP.

I hope all is ok, I'm so sorry

For those that have sailed on Christmas Day, does Carnival do a special Christmas meal, or is it a standard menu?

We have to arrange special transportation for my disabled child and Carnival guest services said that as a result, to just disregard my arrival boarding time and find the “embarkation supervisor” asap when we arrive at port (we should arrive at 11:30 am, so not too early or late). On the phone, they weren’t sure exactly where to find this person at the Long Beach port and told me to just “ask around”? Anyone have a more direct location so we are not wandering around?

    Hi @Onlyoneash🙂

The best advice I can offer is this: Agents at port terminals all have work phones & or walkie-talkie's with them. Since the Embarkation Supervisor will most likely be floating all over & most likely not in their office, after you enter the terminal, simply have the nearest agent reach out to the Supervisor at that time, and have them come to you, instead of you searching for them.

Best wishes & have a terrific voyage!

    Hi @Jenny in TX🙂

I'm going to drop a couple links below that might offer you some assistance. Hopefully soon you'll hear from Cruise Critic members that have sailed Mardi Gras that can offer you a wide range of balconies that are covered, look straight down, and that can explain the hump balconies. Click below.

Thank you so much!  This helps a ton.

    Hi @Jenny in TX🙂

Oh, I'm so happy that information was able to help you a great deal.

I'd like to offer one more piece of advice to assist you, that being: Try to get a stateroom with cabins (above & below) you. A cabin sandwich, so to speak, a noise buffer.

You don't want to end up with a cabin with a kitchen above you, or a lounge, a theater, and so on.. Avoid possible banging, thumping,  loud music, crashing kitchen sound areas, at all costs. Look at the deck plans extremely carefully.

Since they were just changed 2 months ago, maybe they will be the same.

    Hi @helene109🙂

No worries for your two cruises in June & September 2024 at all. The probability of these new menus being the same, are extremely, extremely, extremely high. There's still a handful of ships that didn't even roll them out yet, LOL! They'll get them this month, next month, December & in the beginning of 2024. Take a peek below.

Tomorrow is dressy night, and unfortunately I will not be able to have access to the dining room, suit and tie required but I knew that going in.

    Hi @jam19872016🙂

I'm glad you knew that going in. Your voyage on Cunard is 14-nights, which means you'll have Four Gala Evenings. I wish you could experience just one. Even if it were just for the food alone.

Gala evenings on Cunard go beyond the dining room a lil bit and will have four different themes. Your sailing will have all four since its a 14-night. Black & White Theme. Red & Gold Theme. Masquerade Theme & Roaring 20's Theme.

You'll find these themes throughout the ship on Gala Evenings. They'll be ship decorations; Musical acts performing throughout the night; Signature cocktails & dishes to the evenings theme in bars & restaurants, and so on..

They'll always be some passenger's that don't participate, so I certainly wouldn't sweat it at all. You won't be alone.

Loving what will eventually be, when completed, a 56-Day adventure! You're doing a terrific job with this review! WOW!

Happy sailing! You're making wonderful memories!

The tram also goes out farther than the picnic pavilion area, out past the water sports center.  We caught an outbound ride on one from our cabana (#11) years ago and got to see a lot more of the island than we dreamed we would see.  It was pretty nifty.

    Hi @Pellaz🙂

I meant to add to my reply above; There are certainly other Trams that do go further, but they are (Not Free) & are scenic-like tour trams. The only (Free Tram) is the one below on the map that only goes back & forth from the Food Pavillion to the Welcome Center.

    Valor Fun Times. Not Glory.

The OP's thread & title is in regard to Valor.

Yep, Glory Embarkation Day Fun Times isn't listed. But insignificant to the OP of this thread.

Valor Embarkation Day Fun Times is listed:

    11am to 3:30pm

    Thanks🙂

I'll fix to add the one hour difference between (Port & Sea Day Hours)

But my point was, they are open on Embarkation Day.

    Embarkation Day Hours Are:

    11am to 3:30pm

    Sea Day Hours Are:

    12pm to 2:30pm

    Port Day Hours Are

    12pm to 3:30pm
