Escargot. I love them on Celebrity, but have had terrible experiences at local restaurants.
-
On Celebrity we've had one on the first formal night of each cruise. On our first cruise we did have kissing swans on our anniversary as well.
-
We've never done either early or late, opting for anytime dining instead. Early is WAY too early, and late can be too late. We prefer to eat around 7:30pm. Ah, well, there is something for everyone! :)

Add us to the list of those who tip after each segment. You never know what can change at the last minute.

Ours occurred before we even set foot on board the ship!
First cruise Ensenada to Hawaii on the Celebrity Millennium. They bused everyone from San Diego to Ensenada to board the ship (thanks PVSA). As you checked in at the SD pier you were given tickets with your bus number. We were number 11. Anyway, they start announcing numbers and people began boarding buses. Everyone was milling in the same general area waiting for their number to be called. Once they called 10, those of us on 11 moved up to be checked onto the next bus. My wife and I were first in this group. We noticed a man and woman working their way through the throng of people behind everyone(pushing, actually), until they were immediately in front of my wife and me. I just smiled and laughed lightly. This was our first cruise and I wasn't going to let anything change my happy mood. Apparently my smile and laugh caught the eye of the woman from Celebrity Cruises in charge of letting people through the line. She smiled and opened the line for boarding. When the two line jumpers started to rush by, she asked them to please wait as these people were first. They turned several shades of red as my wife and I walked past, thanking this wonderful Celebrity Cruises staff person. She said, "you're welcome, and have a wonderful cruise!"
Thus began an amazing cruise. We were hooked!

30th wedding anniversary celebrated on our 2012 Hawaii cruise on the Celebrity Millennium. Our first cruise and every day was perfect. The constant smile on Lockie's face said it all. Fell in love with cruising and deeper in love with my wife. :)

Cellar Masters on the Solstice. They've moved the "better" beers there as well.

I'm going to ask again, if someone orders a double house vodka on the rocks, is that considered TWO drinks or one?
Technically, yes, that is two drinks. That being said, on my last cruise I was asked if I wanted a double Macallan by the bartender and I told him I was on the premium drink package and couldn't get doubles. He said "okay" and poured a double anyway. :) You'll probably be fine, but it really depends on the bartender.
-
I've always had the premium package and probably always will. That being said, your post is excellent and well written. Thank you for posting!

Have done both. Enjoyed both. Caribbean is laid back fun, while Alaska is for the experience. I'm for Alaska in summer and Caribbean in winter!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the glass partition would latch if there were wind/sea issues. Did you happen to take pictures so we can better understand how this would work?
Thanks! :)

Escargot (MDR)
Cheesecake (MDR)
Warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream (Lawn Club Grill)
Any of the meats - they are all great! (Lawn Club Grill)
Filet (Tuscan)
Onion soup (Tuscan)
Lava Crab (Qsine)
Tombstone (Qsine)
Wow. The list just grows! -
Another vote for smoking on the port side. LOL! I book starboard partially for this reason.

You can also redeem them on line. That's the way I do it.
Go to the Celebrity Home Page.
On the bottom left, see the Celebrity Visa credit card logo. Click on it, even though it says "apply now" and you already have it.
On the next page, below all the ads for the two types of credit cards, under "Already a Cardholder" you will see "redeem MyCruise Points"
Click on that and you are taken to the redemption site. Sign in there and follow the steps to redeem your points.
Be sure to print out the page showing you have done this, and take it on board with you, just in case.
Good advice. Worked seamlessly for me for my Alaska cruise a few weeks ago. The OBC showed up on the first sea day (day 2) of the cruise.

Still on the Solstice a couple of weeks ago. I think it is a nice touch to start the cruise on the right note! :)
-
Yes, it is a memorable dining experience. I do not order the wine pairings but have the premium beverage package and get a variety of wine with that.
The cheese course is outstanding! Be sure to order the Velveeta slices and Triscuits! Excellent!!
Funny! :D:p:D

Got off the Solstice to Alaska a couple of weeks ago. The trip is amazing, even though the weather wasn't cooperative for our cruise. Highly recommend the catamaran trip which takes you to both South Sawyer and Sawyer glaciers. We got up close and personal with both!
The ship is in great shape and the staff top notch. It was my DB and SIL's first Celebrity cruise. They enjoyed themselves so much they booked a cruise for next summer while onboard!

As of two weeks ago it was a blend of Molecular, World Class, and personal creations from Loida, their main mixologist. The Molecular selection was greatly reduced and only a sampling of World Class were available. Our favorites were the drinks created by Loida. Personal favorite was the Velvet Revolver! Our group met here each evening before dinner for drinks, and frequently after dinner as well if we didn't end up at the Martini Bar.
Enjoy!

Lawn Club Grill is easily my favorite. I love that it is "outdoors" and you can be as involved as you wish in the preparation of your dinner. Their steaks, seafood, and chops are wonderful. Don't forget the warm chocolate chip cookie dessert! It is delicious!
I also enjoy Tuscan Grill for the views and wonderful food. Wonderful staff as well.
Qsine is fun with a group, not as much if just the two of you. That being said, my wife and I've enjoyed our tapas. We especially enjoy the presentation!

I rarely let things get to me, and I know I will have a great cruise no matter what, but this really bugged me.
As stated in the title, we are Carnival cruisers, because we qualify for a great rate with them, and have enjoyed all of our cruises with them so far, but, had an opportunity to book with Celebrity that I was really excited about. I (Jen) booked the cruise myself, over the phone, DH (Sam) is my guest on that booking. Got an email from them today, to my email address, trying to sell the drink package. My problem you ask, IT WAS ADDRESSED TO SAM, Dear Samuel!!! Again, I'm the one that booked it, and paid for it. I know Celebrity is supposed to be higher class than Carnival, but are they that old fashioned that they must only communicate with the gentleman? When I look at my reservation online, I'm listed first.
Sorry to vent, but hoping some of you might have some insight. Is this what I should expect on the cruise as well, am I subservient to my Husband? This has to be some kind of mistake, just has me a little worried about what to expect.
Geez.
If it makes you feel any better, my wife gets all the emails, not me, and I book everything.

In case anyone is interested, Cellar Masters is also where you can find the premium beers now that they've been moved out of Michael's. Good selection!

We have a list ready when we get to the stateroom:
1. Isotonic pillows for both of us.
2. Empty the refrigerator.
3. Ice service 2x each day.
If we don't see him, we leave it on the bed and everything is taken care of by the time we retire that night. We've been blessed with amazing stewards!
Our last cruise also included opening the dividers between staterooms as we had four in a row for family and this gave us a huge balcony!
To answer the person asking about emptying the refrigerator. We have it emptied so that we can store extra waters. It doesn't keep anything cold anyway, so a place to store a few cool waters is great.

I truly enjoyed your review and hope to meet both Mark and you on a cruise!

Sorry, no. S-class ships Silhouette and Reflection have cabanas that rent by the day, but none of the other ships have them.
Is it possible to book Blu by paying an extra fee?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
I think the solution is to book a suite. You can have all three of you in the room, eat in Blu on a space-available basis, and even have you own dining room for suite guests if you don't want to use the MDR or buffet.
But then again, I am diabetic and haven't gained a pound on my cruises or had blood sugar issues. I eat well in the MDR and specialty restaurants, and even the buffet (gasp!). It is all about choices.
