  1. We were on the Silhouette the last two weeks. Loved the new shows. Tenors of Rock on week two with a Mowtown tribute in week one. The only time I saw the usual Silhouette dancers was at the evening open deck or Sky Lounge performances. The theatre performances were all comedians, Beatles tribute band, et cetera. Quite a change that we GREATLY enjoyed. We also noticed more live music that wasn't from the 50's or earlier. A very welcome change. We had a great time!

  2. We were on Silhouette 27 Dec sailing. We had a balcony cabin and the premium drink package. The cruise was phenomenal. Cabin clean, room attendant (Jerry) great; the 3 bartenders (George, Christian and Elayna) at Molecular were beyond amazing. Never waited for a drink at any bar. Dining at Murano and Tuscan exceptional. MDR food was fantastic. NYE was more than so much fun. Embarkation and Disembarkation unbelievably fast and efficient. Will be writing a cruise review, however, since there have been a few negative reviews on Silhouette int he past few months, just wanted everyone to know....cruise was fantastic.

Welcome back and glad you had a great cruise! We sail on her Sunday for a B2B and can't wait.

Quick question: What drinks were being server? Molecular? World Class? Ship-specific concoctions? On my August Solstice sailing they had a combination of all three. Just curious!

    Thanks,

    Bruce

  3. I ordered luggage tags 2x and never received. Called the Captain's club today and she confirmed that they were never sent. I do not think that Celebrity's website is the best.

Me too. Ordered twice online and still no tags. I finally printed out tags from my eDocs, put 2" clear tape on them and cut to size. They look great and I'm all set for January 10th!

  4. My January 2016 cruises in CC will give me 35 point for each cruise, plus the 25 bonus points for each totaling 120 points for the two cruises. My wife and I currently have 190 points, so we'll be Elite after these cruises. It's a nice bonus. We didn't use other promotions that came later offering more perks because we are looking forward to the next Captain's Club level.

As for the current email offering 10 points and Elite status. I suspect they meant that the extra 10 points would bring you to Elite faster. If they truly are offering to upgrade you to 300 points and Elite, why mention the ten points at all?

  5. I've found the service spotty at best, and bar service next to non-existent.

I've always had select dining and, while the sommeliers have all been knowledgeable, they are spread way too thin over the dining room.

This has been my experience. YMMV.

  6. While not a Barefoot Beach cabana, I was able to reserve an over-the-water cabana on Nellie's Beach for my January 10, 2016 Silhouette cruise about a month ago. Cost when I reserved was $255.00. For many months they weren't shown as available online and they were to be reserved once on board. They showed up on the website about a month ago (for my cruise anyway) as open for booking so I jumped on it!

Maybe yours will open up as you get a bit closer to sail date? Good luck!

  7. Cash or credit isn't my issue. I can't get the site to recognize my Captain's Club number. Called Sunday and told they were aware of the issue and to wait until Wednesday. Just for grins and giggles I tried a few minutes ago. Not resolved yet. Rather than raise my blood pressure, I'll ignore the Celebrity site for a couple of days then try again. Hopefully their IS hamsters will dig out of the litter and fix this by then.

  8. I just booked Nellies - Over the Water Cabana for our March 20 cruise, and it was listed at $295...I want to confirm only one person in the party needs to reserve it, correct?

Is pricing varying by cruise date now?

It does seem to be by date. I booked an OTW cabana on Nellie's for my January cruise and it was $255.00. This is also on Celebrity.

Yes, only one person needs to be listed on the reservation.

  9. I agree and understand that all of this can be addressed at port. Please understand that some of us (me) like to get as much completed beforehand as possible. Anything to make the check-in procedure smoother is the way I want to go. Not being able to do this, especially when others seem to be successful, leaves me a bit frustrated.

  10. I just did OLCI.

They have completely revamped the process, to me I think it's streamlined a bit and easier to get through now and more "intuitive".

Still some kinks to work out (for me, it wouldn't match my Captain's Club number to my name, but a call to the Club fixed that) but it's a good step forward.

I wasn't so lucky in my call to Captain's Club with the same issue. They told me to wait until Wednesday.

  11. Fun, isn't it?

I tried to complete my Express Pass information yesterday and the site kept telling me that my Captain's Club number was invalid. I called CC and was told that the site was having issues. They seemed surprised that I couldn't enter my information (primary) as they said most couldn't enter the secondary person's information. They said I had up to three days before sailing to complete these documents, but I want to order luggage tags and that can't be done until the Express Pass step is complete. Plus, you need to have enough time remaining before your cruise to have them printed and shipped. I was told to wait until Wednesday and try again.

I love cruising Celebrity, but I truly hate their website.

  12. The good:

My wife in a beautiful black dress with gold piping. Me in my tux with my University of Virginia bow tie. As we walked up to the hostess at select dining we hear, "ooh-la-la" from her. :)

    The bad:

Sitting in the Molecular bar wearing khakis, button down white shirt, and navy blazer being "tut-tutted" by a woman as she walks by in her gown with her tuxedo wearing husband. Yes, it was formal night. No, I wasn't eating in the main dining room and had reservations in Tuscan.

  13. WE think of Celebrity as more of a 'country club' cruise. A friend was turned away from the dining room because he wasn't wearing a jacket. You won't see shorts or jeans in her dining rooms at night. Passengers are more formal. More men wear a tux on formal nights.

Don't remember seeing kids when we were on a Celebrity cruise.

Celebrity just changed their formal nights to evening chic so the number of tuxes will be dropping.

  14. While booking ahead of time will guarantee a reservation, you can usually get a better price onboard. The problem is getting the time/date you want, especially if you're trying to get all five couples together. If that is the case, I'd recommend going ahead and making reservations now. Be sure to link the reservations so that they can seat everyone together.

We love the LCG. Maybe we'll see you there?!? :D
