Day three of an eleven day cruise (our first cruise!). At dinner this couple is seated at the next table and both are NOT happy and complaining about how they had no money left to enjoy their cruise. It seems they had gone on a losing streak in the casino the night before and had gone through their eleven-day casino budget in two days. It was obviously the cruise line's fault and they decided they were going to Guest Services after dinner and get their money back. Wonder how that turned out...

Simple answer: no.

I use Luggage Valet every chance I can. It really has relieved the stress of schlepping bags and has worked very well each time I've used it, last on Equinox out of Miami.
-
My vote would be the Silhouette for the longer itinerary, nice ports, more specialty restaurants, and newer ship.
Whichever you choose, I hope you have a great cruise!

The first time Lockie and I went to the happy hour we were not impressed. Too crowded and cliquish. We left before we'd finished our first drink. Tried a second time. Not so crowded but same cliques. The Captain's Club hostess seemed to be simply going through the motions. Our last cruise was the first in a suite. Michael's Club was great, with interesting conversation and attentive bar staff and concierge. Out of curiosity we went to the Elite happy hour one night. Same story as our visits on previous cruises. We'll never go again. Of course we understand that we're comparing an apple to an orange, but the differences were too glaring to ignore.
All this being said, we don't cruise for the perks. We love the overall Celebrity product.

"Flippin" silly review! Obviously they did their homework before booking. Not.

Yes it is refundable. Any unused funds get refunded to your card.

I've never seen menus from Blu provided in Luminae.
Items from the mini bar are technically not included in your drink package. Your butler was going above and beyond and should be tipped accordingly. The mini bar or refrigerator is only stocked with your preferences free of charge in royal suites and the penthouse.
Correct. Our butler went above and beyond and it was greatly appreciated. Yes, he was tipped generously.

It may be a case-by-case situation, but my SS butler told us first day that the refrigerator would be stocked with whatever we wanted. I was surprised, but enjoyed having decent beer and my wife's favorite soda, along with plenty of water, provided and restocked as needed. It was a nice touch we weren't expecting and truly appreciated. We did have the premium beverage package and he was aware of this.
He kept asking what more he could do for us. We're fairly low maintenance, but enjoyed CaB cookies delivered each afternoon.

One more vote for JetBlue. We even opt for the "even more room" seats so that we get to board first and have first crack at overheads. Works great!

My pet peeve is the hand wavers. You know who you are. If you don't like that area don't go through it.
I don't smoke, but agree 100% with you. Pretty sad!

October 2017 out of Miami on the Equinox in a SS we waited briefly with all of the other suite passengers, then Jole came down and walked all of us on board as a group and into Michaels. She took care of everyone in suites with equal skill and friendliness.

If it is the same Rakesh I had in Luminae last October on the Equinox he is indeed very special. Superior service with an amazing personality. He should be training the others, but then we'd miss him in Luminae!

Call us soft and wet but our first toast every cruise is ‘To making it count...’. No matter what room you are in tomorrow is always a gift to be enjoyed!
Excellent sentiment and I agree 100%!

I just saw a facebook video she took using a GoPro as she came aboard the Equinox and went to the bridge. Pretty neat!

Jole and Anka are pretty amazing, aren't they. They are great to deal with on any issue, or just to chat with when free. They helped make our Equinox cruise very special.

We love luggage valet and use it every chance we get. On our Equinox cruise last month out of Miami we were flying out of FLL at 3:40 pm. Worked like a charm and our bags were waiting for us when we got to our destination airport. Wonderful bang for your buck.

No problem last month on Equinox. We saw infants as well as children school age and younger in Luminae. All were well behaved and having a great time!

Funny. The glass show does nothing for my wife and me. On our Equinox cruise last month we never went. We love the Lawn Club Grill on Silhouette. It is our favorite restaurant at sea! We've only been on one M-class cruise, our first cruise on Millie to Hawaii, and we'd love to take another M-class cruise. Frankly, we love the product due to the amazing staff and crew.
Looking forward to reviews of the Edge class before we book. Besides, they still haven't shown us the complete deck plans!

We used it on our 10/6/17 Equinox cruise. Worked beautifully!

Thanks for your report! There will probably be many on our sailing of the 27th with drink packages also, so I know what to expect regarding bar service. Doesn't make it right though.
Two questions: in Curacao, did you dock inside the pontoon bridge or outside?
Also, how was the CC get together?
Curacao was outside the pontoon bridge, which was only a short walk away. I can't answer to the CC gathering as we didn't attend.
Enjoy your cruise! We certainly did!

Is it just me, I'm not seeing the correlation between the Thread Heading "Historical pricing info on cruises post-hurricane?" and the poll questions. Anyone else confused?
Also confused, and not going to answer. Prayers to the islands.

No. Smart casual on all nights. On evening chic nights, you may feel comfortable dressing a bit more formally, but there is no requirement that you do so.

I just saw a new video of Luminae and noticed some of the tables had a chair on one side and a long sofa on the other. I guess this would facilitate changing a two top to a four (or more) top relatively easily, but just how comfortable is it sitting on the sofa side? I've found that I dislike this type of seating in restaurants in my area for several reasons. I find the sofa is either too low or angled in such a manner that it is more difficult for me to eat. It is also sometimes difficult to slide into your seat. Also, if you're sitting in the chair your view is of a wall. Not much fun if you like to see what is going on while you eat!
For anyone that has dined at these tables in Luminae, what are your thoughts? I'm sure I could ask for a table for two with chairs on both sides when I'm seated?
Thanks!
Are plastic water bottles about to be discontinued on celebrity ships?
