  1. Top Chef is gone. It was an attempt at attracting cruisers. It failed. Too many people including me hated that menu. While on paper, it sounded interesting. The actual food was terrible. I don't really think that Celebrity intended it as a ploy to get more people to eat in the specialty restaurants. On Top Chef night, the Buffet was busy.

    It was a joke.

  2. Just venting...while I love Celebrity cruises, I truly hate their website.

I've long ago completed check-in (100% according to the site) and printed my Xpress Pass. I log onto the site today just to see if eDocs might be ready yet and the site tells me, "You must complete items before checking in." Wait, I've already checked in 100% and printed my Xpress Pass. Am I missing something, other than that their site stinks?

It sure doesn't leave me with warm fuzzies about my upcoming cruise. Ah, well. Just venting...thanks for listening!

  3. Very few in my experience. School is in session for most everyone, which limits the number of children.

I had a great time interacting with a child I saw many times on the elevator with his parents on one January cruise. We must have been on the same schedule! He took great delight in asking which floor we wanted and pressing the button for us. Nice family and I'd love to run into them again.

  4. Never, I repeat, never get a burger from the buffet. Over-cooked hockey pucks that have been sitting in the same pan of grease for who knows how long. Nasty.

I've gotten so that I grab a napkin to use to pick up the tongs/spoon/whatever when at the buffet. Too many times have I seen someone lick their fingers then grab them.

RE: Eggs. I always get the omelette station to scramble or fry them for me. Fresh and tasty!

  5. Greetings everyone!

We will be in our first suite (Sky Suite, Equinox, Miami) in October and was wondering about embarkation and disembarkation.

Are embarkation procedures the same as we've experienced with our other Celebrity cruises, just with a different check-in line? Are escorts just for the top suites? Should we go to Michael's Club and/or Luminae? What about our carry-on luggage?

Is disembarkation via Michael's Club and they escort you off or do you go through the same procedures and lines as we've done previously with our concierge class rooms?

I know the top suites get extra care, but was wondering what was included with the "lowly" Sky Suite.

    Thanks for any help!

  6. They have already added it to 2 ships. At first I thought they would give it a longer trial on Constellation before adding it to any other ship, but seems Equinox was not far behind.

I'm curious what they'll do, if anything, on the Silhouette and Reflection. These two ships already essentially have this in place with the burgers at LCG. Solstice class ships already have different venues (glass show -vs- LCG), so this wouldn't be much of a stretch.

  7. Does that include beers?

For example a Heineken is included in the standard package at at $ 6.00 and want a Red Stripe @ $ 7.00, over the six dollar max for beer on the standard package, I'd pay one dollar for the difference in price?

Beers are included, but if you have the standard package you'll pay full price for your beverage. Paying the difference currently applies to just classic and premium packages.

  8. Frankly, I'm tired of Celebrity giving us tastes of the new ship instead of full plans. It's like they don't quite have a handle on the design and are creating on the fly. Quite frankly, I think it is time for me to simply stop checking and wait a year until (hopefully) they've finally figured out how they want the ship to look and have fully released the deck plans.
