Two new ships will be the Escape and the Bliss i was told....i think i still prefer the Gem.. Its the perfect size... Breakaway was nice, new and technologically advanced but definitely was glad to have the Haven to escape to. Too many people with too many small venues...definitely miss the Spinnaker ....

We met pearl two week ago. She was training under carlos before he left for vacation. Very sweet, always smiling. Im sure she will be wonderful.

We just went to the beach right there bythe town dont know the name. But was near bar called honky tonk...

Was also on gem few weeks ago. Seven ships in st maarten so Gem used tenders...great thing because we avoided crowds on pier and tendered right to other end of the beach....avoided the stores, just relaxed all day onthe beach.... Couldnt imagine waiting for water taxi with 20,000 plus people....met "sweet michael" on beach.... He provided two nice lounge chairs, umbrella, internet wifi password and allowed us six free drinks and use if a bathroom for $ 25!. Pleasant man who kept checking with all his "customers" and refeeshing drinks or bringing ice....he is very appreciative of a tip And even gave us extra cold boted water for ride back to ship😄.... Nice relaxing beach day....

Dont wait until last two nights. Then it gets booked...

Platinum free dinner includes dinner for two and a bottle of wine. It says lebistro but actual invite on ship gives option of several other restaurants, we had a great meal in la cucina...

Gem still doing cagneys for breakfast and lunch while breakaway has its own haven restaurant which provides breakfast lunch and dinner for suite guests with no upcharge.

Met pearl last week as carlos was training her to cover his vacation... She is very sweet, personable and willing to help. Im sure she will be excellent!

Our non suite relatives were allowed to join us for dinner in haven restaurant a limited number of times. Like two.. They were charged for the specilaty restaurant fee....

Air freshener, extension cord, extra memory card for camera, large plastic bag for laundry, lysol wipes to clean tv remote etc...alarmclock .. Over counter meds, once paid over ten dollars for bottle of nyquil on breakaway...sweatshirt--'ship air conditioning can be cold!

Carlos and jenny both left gem on jan 20 for vacation. I believe both sais they would be back in march.

Been on both.... Breakaway nice and brand new but went back to gem... Much more comfortable ship... Friendly staff.like the variety shows better than the " broadway productions" breakaway requires you to do more scheduling of your time... The gem is more " go with the flow" can decide what you want to do last minute.....and breakaway seems loud no matter where you go. Gem is more peaceful....

Just off the gem. Last sunday they showed both playoff games in the atrium. Thry had popcorn and chips and salsa setup as well as buckets of beer to purchase. Many people brought snacks from blue lagoon. It was also on tv in cabins Fun party atmosphere.....

Sinan is on vacation....

Been on about ten NCL cruises. Dawn gem and breakaway. Was on third bermuda cruise on breakaway. Beautiful new ship. Great technology. Clean. Friendly staff. Was happy though to be in haven to escape crowds At times Do miss spinnaker on breakaway. Too many small bars and venues. Dont like having to reserve shows. If you have a problem. Address it with the officer or director in charge and give them the opportunity to correct it....they wont know unless you tell them....

Just off gem.... Shows were all good especially chip romero. Magician/ comedian... White hot party very lively. Great group of passengers quest party hilarious but adult only.... Great outdoors nice place to relax and have a snack or ice cream. Dan dAn cruise director so funny and surprised all with great singing voice. Behind scenes tour quite interesting. Took tender into samana... Horrible port.... So poor... Quickly returned to ship. Didnt feel safe. Too many natives zipping around on motorcycles. This port is going to be replaced by tortola in the future due to passenger complaints.... Would try excursion to cayo beach if you go there but i heard it was nice but could get crowded. Preferred to relax on ship the rest of the day

While on breakaway. Weather was good so parties outdoors but i also miss spinnaker and great outdoors.... Too many small venues and overuse of atrium for some events which becomes way too overcrowded....

Was previously on breakaway in haven 2 bedroom suite on deck 16.... Gorgeous but just came back from 9 day on gem... 2 people in deck5 oceanview there was plenty of room, not too low....definitely would go with oceanview over inside cabin ....

Just off Gem.... Love cagneys and la cucina.....went to moderno on breakaway and it was awesome, didnt try it on gem but i heard it isnt as good as breakaway...
