Just wondering if the bathrooms of gem balcony cabins are any larger than that of outside (non-balcony) cabins? Traveled in both but cant remember. Thanks.

In laws were in one but cant remember which. No complaints of noise but i think i would avoid the ones on the end. 9127 and 9627 they may have crew door or stewards room next to them.

Not sure about locations but the sideways inside cabins are quite spacious- nice set up..,also cruising gem ...jan 12...

Just a suggestion... After having had a piece of luggage go missing... I now take a picture of all our luggage before we board so, in case it is lost, the cruise staff have a picture they can circulate in an attempt to find it...

Yes...suitcase last seen when given to porter on dock and was found on the last day of seven day cruise to bermuda as we pulled into port. Letters had been sent to cabins and stewards searched but to no avail. Turns out it was in a nearby cabin but passengers never noticed??? Cabins arent that big.. Lol... The staff was fabulous in trying to help us out... Credit for some gift shop purchases, free laundry service every day, comped dinners and wine...and we did some shopping in bermuda... They made a bad situation into something to laugh about and we made some new lasting friendships with fantastic staff, crew and officers...

Have done the gem and breakaway with 2 20 yr olds. They always found something to do. They loved bermuda in that they could easily navigate transportation system to n from the beach. Also have beach by the pier. Totally enjoyed the shows, games, white hot and glow parties and rope course and plank. Never found them bored on any of the cruises, also went beginning of june and also january... Enough college kids on board if they want to mingle. Enjoy!

Indeed! Jenny is fantastic... So involved in her ship and it is reflected in her staff and crew. She definitely sets the tone and ensures all her guests have the best time! She worked so well with Sean (he is also superb) and definitely earned her promotion to HD...NCL is lucky to have them representing their company....

Looking for your thoughts...is it worth it to switch to mini suite from a balcony on the Gem 9 day caribbean for $700 more (total) for 2 adults? Would the extra space make that much of a difference? TIA

Was on the gem and game was shown on big screen in atrium And on tv at great outdoors... A fun party atmosphere... Beer and wings galore!

Received credit for 7 day honeymoon cruise on Starward from 1985..

It is possible you may not be able to add another person even though there is room in your cabin. If that cruise reaches its maximum number of passengers ( thru 3 rd and 4 th pAssengers in other cabins) you may not be able to add. We were always told its better to book for more and cancel if necessary.

The Gem had a self service laundry back in 2008 but is no longer there. I remember taking a picture of it. I think it was on deck 9.

Were in 16122 haven 2 bdrm breakaway. Terrific location and no noise!

We were in haven last year first week of june...some kids in haven but mostly stayed with their family groups... No issues with unruly kids. The rooms are quite quiet, we were in 2 bdrm family suite on deck 16 never heard any noise from other cabins....

My fAmily was lucky enough to be invited to ice bar complimentary... Yes it was fun and different but would i pay to do it again... No....

I would check to make sure the 2 bdrm on deck 11 gets haven privileges. We stayed in 2 bdrm on 11 and got butler and concierge but no haven or cagneybreakfast or lunch. If $ allows i would go with haven room for the added perks.. X

I bought laminating sheets in staples and just put the paper tags inside and folded them over. They seal nicely and stapled them around the luggage handle. Worked perfectly..

Gem going into drydock Nov 2014 in the Bahamas for about 2 weeks....reportedly the Spinnaker will remain!

Wow... I could have written that first post... The gem crew is awesome... Jenny lim is THE BEST! Always smiling and making passengers have their greatest cruise ever.... Carlos and asst Pearl fantastic ...joseph in cagneys is wonderful....kudos to other ncl favorites sean wurmhoeringer hotel director ... I think he is now on getaway and Lanie was terrific butler on breakaway....the staff and freestyle keeps me loyal to ncl!

Saw michael finney on gem. Enjoyed his show...
