There were two canvas tote bags in our IV balcony stateroom on the Ascent three weeks ago. We have always received tote bags on Celebrity, varying in quality by the category of stateroom booked.

Last year when we were in Falmouth we thought we would stroll into the town and see the historical sites and community. We could not walk more than two minutes without someone pressing us to take their tour, or visit their shop, or something similar. As soon as we could politely get away from one person, another one was there to pick up the pressure. We finally just turned around and went back to the ship. We realize times are extremely difficult in most cruise stop communities, but we just wanted a casual walk around the town. I suggest booking an excursion of some sort before you arrive, or just staying on the ship like we will be doing in October.

I just did this same thing. We booked an Infinite Veranda guarantee on the Ascent for Jan 2024 and the room was assigned within 24 hours. We were assigned a partial view IV and I contacted our agent to change our room from the assigned room to another in the same class/type of room. She said it wasn't allowed, but I have done this in the past and asked her to check again. She came back, apologized and changed the room with no problem.

On our March 2023 South America sailing from Buenos Aires to Santiago, on the Infinity, naturalist Celia Garland did several lectures on marine animals that we might encounter along the way. She was absolutely amazing! She was lively, knowledgeable and very entertaining. I particularly enjoyed her talk on whales, as well as her talk on dolphins ("What's the porpoise?") and sea birds. If you get a chance to attend one of her presentations, do not miss it. We were surprised to learn at the end of the cruise that she was actually from our home state, New Hampshire (small world).
