  1. Leaving Quebec. After dinner in the lido we watched the second Cantare show. Not bad but once was enough. After the show we saw a double rainbow.
  2. Good Afternoon, we walked up to the Citadel this morning. They haven't done the changing of the guard ceremony in three years, thanks to Covid. Today however we were there in time for the 21 canon salute. Very nice to witness. Walking back we saw the following on the outside of the Citadel.
  3. Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report. I'm with @dfish and will pass on today's meal suggestion. We are approaching Quebec and should be docked by 9. Thunder storms were in the forecast for today. So far the weather looks good.
  4. So far I haven't seen them. It didn't occur to me to look for them.
  5. Tonight we had dinner in the Canaletto. We had reservations for 6 pm. At the 50 minute mark we finally received our entrée. We were a bit surprised that the service was so slow. The manager said it was because they had a large table. We weren't the only guests disappointed in the service. We made it just in time for the 7:30 show. It was the One Step Dancers with the Piano Bar singer and someone from the Ocean Bar band. The show was better than last night's show. However, the dancers added nothing to the show. We both thought that we would have enjoyed it if it was just with the two singers. Tonight was also Chocolate Surprise night. Chocolate never disappoints. Our second towel animal.
  6. This morning we were invited to a Mariner recognition event. It was for five star and President Club members. No awards were presented. Champagne and mimosa flowed freely. We also gor our pictures taken with the captain. After a brief rest we had lunch in the Pinnacle Grill. I had the chicken lemongrass soup and it was very good. It may have been the mimosas but I ordered the Alaska Black Cod sandwich. DH ordered the beef tri tip sandwich. We cut them in half so we could try each. The cod sandwich was OK, DH liked it.(I'm not a big fish eater) The beef sandwich was very good. I then had the lemon sorbet. Then off to the dining room for the wine tasting.
  7. Good Morning from the Zaandam as we head to Quebec. Thanks for the daily fleet report. Today's meal suggestion sounds interesting and I'd give it a try. Lunch will be at Pinnacle, dinner at Canaletto and sandwiched between is the wine tasting. I hope everyone has a good day today.
  8. Last night's Orange Party wasn't as well attended as hoped. It was held in the Crows Nest and they played music for dancing. Snacks were served and the ones I tried were good. It was held at 9 so we watched the sunset.
  9. Tonight was the first time we saw long lines in the lido. The mussels were a hit with those that like that sort of thing. We went to the Step One Dance Company Musicology show. DH thought it ok while I thought it more like a high school production. The dancers are talented but all music and vocals were prerecorded. The Orange Party is at 9 tonight and has a happy hour attached to it.
  10. The current future cruise deposit. On board booking versus at home booking is interesting.
  11. We took a private sale offer on Eurodam in March. I was offered an upsell and took it. Our current sailings, B2B. On Zaandam and I called in for an upsell and was offered a reasonable price for the two cruises.
  12. We walked around town today and picked up some chocolate covered potato chips. Also got some chocolate covered ginger. @dfish two views of the terminal
  13. There are shops in the terminal. Probably about half of the previous years.
  14. Probably just walking around town. None of the excursions appealed or we had already done them. It is a beautiful day.
  15. I expect two Gala nights. Next one is the sea day. I think the first one was second day. On Gala nights we are doing specialty dinning. Can't speak to MDR or club orange. We are in a Neptune Suite.
  16. Good Morning from Charlottetown, thanks for the fleet report. I'm not sure about today's meal suggestion. The lido is offering mussels tonight, that's a hard pass for me. Hopefully something else will appeal. Waiting for a bit to get off the ship. Don't expect much to be open before 10.
  17. Good Evening, after dinner we watched Cantare and we both thought the performances were good. Happy Hour strikes again with a beautiful view.
  18. The current system is the old system. No on demand movies or shows.
  19. Some observations up to this point. Tuesday we put laundry out by 9 am. When we went to the room to get ready for dinner it was returned. Quick good service. I'm used to see Canaletto and Tamarind staff pushing their dinners. What surprised me was the Pinnacle Grill pushing the lunch on the one sea day on this cruise. We took the bait and are giving it a try. We've both had random dinner reservations appear on our daily itinerary. We check each day to keep it accurate. The Effy store was too hot every day. The staff, who we met on Eurodam, asked us to complain. During 9pm happy hour we submitted feedback through Navigator app. Today the shops temperature is comfortable. The TV service that we are used to on the newer ships is nonexistent on this ship. Definitely a step back in time. Tonight we had another nice dinner in the lido.
  20. After we went back to the ship I stopped in the lounge for a drink. A woman was watching tv. From the side my first thought was that you made it onboard!
