  1. Not sure if there's anything you can do about that. Don't think your D+ status would help. Anyway, did you know that one can no longer climb up it? Found this on Google search: Climbing restrictions…why can you no longer climb chichen itza In 2005, there was an unfortunate accident during a tourist's descent down the pyramid's steps, and since then, you are no longer able to climb Chichen Itza.Feb 20, 2024 Can You Climb Chichen Itza? 15 Things You Must Know thewanderingtourist.com https://thewanderingtourist.com › can-you-climb-chichen...
  2. Yes, we have the UDP and are interested in reserving the Royal Railway too! Did you get to or even want to reserve it pre-cruise or on-board? Thanks for taking us along with you and your beautiful family!! Anxiously awaiting your experiences!!
  3. @Jenna wondering if you could organize something like that in the Surfside neighborhood? Here is a video tour of the area: https://www.google.com/search?q=icon+of+the+seas+tour+of+surfside&sca_esv=51d686868d24f363&sca_upv=1&sxsrf=ADLYWIKgtGGsGPqAjGUO1rU5wjW8L5JYAA%3A1725301568522&ei=QAPWZq7GH4fNptQP9NuhiQo&ved=0ahUKEwiu5vyY8aSIAxWHpokEHfRtKKEQ4dUDCBA&oq=icon+of+the+seas+tour+of+surfside&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiIWljb24gb2YgdGhlIHNlYXMgdG91ciBvZiBzdXJmc2lkZTIGEAAYFhgeMgYQABgWGB4yBhAAGBYYHjIGEAAYFhgeMgYQABgWGB4yBhAAGBYYHjIGEAAYFhgeMgYQABgWGB4yBhAAGBYYHjIGEAAYFhgeSLOgAVDZH1iab3ABeAGQAQCYAbsBoAHfGKoBBDI4Ljm4AQzIAQD4AQGYAhagAvgRwgIKEAAYsAMY1gQYR8ICExAuGIAEGLADGNEDGEMYxwEYigXCAgoQIxiABBgnGIoFwgIFEAAYgATCAgsQABiABBiGAxiKBcICCBAAGIAEGKIEwgILEAAYgAQYkQIYigXCAgQQIxgnwgIIEAAYgAQYsQPCAgsQABiABBixAxiDAcICChAAGIAEGBQYhwLCAggQABgWGAoYHpgDAIgGAZAGCZIHBzEwLjExLjGgB6qcAg&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:16bcb24f,vid:iTNSuK_f6N0,st:0
  4. Yep, hope to see you on board @3kidsncats!! If you see my on my rental scooter, please say hello! We originally booked the LA to Tampa portion but, when we saw the 8-night it, we decided to begin in Vancouver (and I really hate flying). Hah, hubby wanted to put in the other previous portion from Hawaii. Not this time, I said, 24 nights on a ship is enough for one trip. We really enjoy Hawaii too but was just there last year for the 3rd visit. Time to move on for now. Now, I'm looking for an east coast cruise from Canada down to Florida but Royal's 2026 fall cruises aren't posted just yet. Happy cruising!
  5. This is a tour of #8164 which is directly across the ship from #8564 in your same category: I just watched the video and saw no obstruction on the balcony (maybe I just missed it). On the ship map, it says it's obstructed too. It's also an extended balcony, so a little bigger than some of the others. Enjoy!!
  6. Same here! Always enjoy the specialty restaurant on embarkation day for peace and relaxation! However, there is lunch in the MDR on embarkation day for The Key cruisers, as well as the B2B'ers, which we also enjoy!
  7. Ours is in February and I try to check everyday! I intend to make and pay for the reservation for the Railway and then hope they delete the charges once on board since we have the UDP!
  8. We almost always book a specialty restaurant on boarding day to avoid the crowds at the buffet. Great meal and calming atmosphere. Or, go for it with the Ultimate Dining Package, and embarkation day lunch, as well as lunches on sea days, are included!! If on a bigger ship, there are a lot more restaurant options vs the smaller ships!
  9. We are in the same position with you and also have the UDP. Last time I talked to the executive office, she explained to me that they are currently working on that problem. They want to make reservations first available to those who purchased the UDP, and open it up to the rest of the cruisers a day or so later. That may be the reason why we are unable to book the Royal Railway, as it seems to quickly sell out. I noticed that your cruise is this month and ours is not until next February. I hope this problem quickly resolves for both of us! However, I still check everyday to see if I make reservations.
  10. If you have no luck getting it done over the phone or on-line, just go to the MTD room manager immediately after you board the ship to see if you can schedule your preferred times. Don't wait until dinner time.
  11. We got the same notice today for our Oasis cruise in September, 2025. Never been there, so ok with the change.
  12. Great advice! Our Delta flights are Comfort Plus seats, so are towards the front on both legs. I have a wheelchair ordered but hope they will allow me to walk off the plane with my cane and meet the wheelchair either on the gangway or in the terminal. Yes, our meds and essentials will be in my carry-on but, since our cruise will encompass 24 nights, we will both have one piece of checked luggage. DH will have a carry-on as well, so will put at least one change of clothes each in there. If our luggage doesn't make it to Vancouver, I guess I will need to do a lot of shopping! Wonder if Amazon delivers to the ship! LOL! Thanks again!
  13. We visited the sloths on a ship's excursion in Roatan for my 70th birthday and loved it! My tip would be to book this tour in the morning hours as the sloths tend to be sleeping in the afternoons.😉
  14. I think you'll be fine in the GS! Please check back and let us all know how well you liked or didn't like your GS! Bon Voyage and Cheers!
  15. Thanks for the great advice! I also reached out on that other site to a Vancouver resident going on my cruise and he quoted similar recommendations. Even if we miss the ship, I now feel confident that we'll be able to get to Victoria easily to catch the ship there! Yes, we pre-purchased all of our transfers. Thanks everybody!
  16. If we miss the ship in Vancouver, I would hope that the cruise line would still fly us into Vancouver to get through customs there and then ferry us over to Victoria for an overnight to board the ship the next morning. Our cruise will be heading down the CA coastline to LA, then on through the Panama Canal to Tampa. At least, those are my thoughts. Would this be possible?
  17. We are boarding the Radiance in September out of Vancouver and booked our flight via the cruise line Air2Sea program. Our flight is scheduled to leave Indiana early in the morning of the cruise (I know, we probably should have flown in the day before). However, since our ship's next stop is at Victoria, I figure, even if we miss boarding in Vancouver, we could still go on ourselves to Victoria and board the ship the next day. Since our flights were booked through the cruise line (we bought the ship's insurance too), I also understand that they would help us out if this does happen. Is this doable? Hoping flights go as planned, of course! Thanks!
  18. Day dreaming here: Maybe the westbound newly built ship would make a stop to pick up passengers (me) in Florida, then continue on around South America to the west coast home port. Then, I could hop on another ship from the west coast back to my home in Florida! A dream come true maybe! LOL! Cheers!
  19. I agree that the separation would be nice, probably like it is on Oasis. However, I do like the fact that the CK servers are able to get the HH dinner drinks from the nearby bar. I won't be able to have a real opinion until we experience this personally. Happy cruising!
  20. Thanks @Treacher1! I was wondering if the Grove would honor free drinks for the suites. I usually get the Refreshment Package to supplement our D+ drinks but, if the Grove provides them, I wouldn't need to get it. Hopefully, this will be the case when we board Icon next year! Looking forward to exploring Icon! Cheers!
  21. We like to make MTD reservations ahead of the cruise, since we prefer to eat between 6-7pm, which is a very popular dining time and fills up quickly. Just our preference.
  22. I have no idea and would talk with your travel agency, since they are the ones gifting you. Maybe someone else knows how it might work? Speaking of specialty restaurants, we really like 150 Central Park for special dinners; great atmosphere!
