  1. Further to comments a few days ago.... Waitrose released Christmas slots here in Kent (possibly all South East), this morning,. I managed to grab one for 22nd. Apparently they can go in minutes🙂
  2. Such a good idea Lincslady and so simple. It can be such a rush around in the morning with everyone getting ready for school or work this simple trick puts minds at rest in sometimes pandemonium (well it was in our house sometimes!😀) Hope all goes well Purdey and you can have your holiday x
  3. mmmmm they look like posh finger sandwiches!😀 Hope you enjoyed them in those beautiful surroundings.
  4. Two lighthearted things that are puzzling me. Someone might have a comment on them or actually agree with me!!!! 1. What is a bungalow???? We needed everything on one floor and joined various online websites. and then found they were sending us 'bungalows' with two or three bedrooms upstairs. I can see why people extend upwards, but in my brain that would no longer be a bungalow. We did find what we wanted and love it here.. so good result in the end but lots of wasted time!😆 2. Mr. Previous Owner built a lovely conservatory.. the weather has been ok the last year or so so we didn't get round to furnishing the lounge. We have now ordered a couple of sofas from a well known firm and make (PK/KN). We thought we would treat ourselves to something nice. BUT delivery is 26 weeks minimum. Does anyone know why furniture takes so long to deliver. I know they don't want to have big storage problems but 26 weeks minimum seems ridiculous! April at the very earliest. Now my brain 'urts.. all this thinking. I'm going off for a rest!!!🤣
  5. I just wondered if it could be a bit scary for the kids. I know kids like a thrill but feel it's worth mentioning.
  6. Oooh... I pay monthly too for deliveries but Waitrose, when I go into it, says they are not releasing dates here till the first week for November. They also say that they could all go within minutes! I don't know what my daughter wants so on "the other site" where I have saved a slot I have ordered £100 of cat food and will edit later!! Well I didn't want to lose the slot!!!🤣
  7. This Christmas, as we are not away, my daughter has invited us again for a lovely day of absolute chaos. The inlaws will be there and they insist on buying the meat so I will also contribute with either an Ocado or Waitrose shop. Waitrose slots aren't available yet but managed to grab an Ocado. I pay a monthly sum for off peak deliveries, Tues to Thurs. This is one of those days but they are charging nearly a tenner for the Xmas delivery on 22nd. Bit hefty and a bit of a cheek I think.
  8. When I was a day patient on Wednesday they decided to give me full sedation instead of just being whoozy. Well, when I woke up I was so comfortable and sleepy it was lovely. I expect the other patients just wanted to wake and be alert, but I was so relaxed and comfortable I could have stayed there! Then my daughter , who works there, arrived and that was the end of that!😂
  9. I'm here too. I'm a terrible insomniac and have been for years. Tonight I am trying to research meditation as when I am in bed my brain wakes up totally and although it's usually nice thoughts, I just can't shut down. Has anyone tried meditation.. could it help a long term insomniac who would be quite happy going to bed at 6.00 am. All other avenues have been tried.. ie Drs, etc
  10. I wouldn't chose Pearl or Coral. We found those very light and airy, even in the evening. We are all different and some love that, but we prefer a more intimate ambience in the evening. Have a lovely time, wherever you decide.
  11. I had the hip procedure today and all is well. I knew that these injections have to be done in theatre, but didn't expect all the caboodle that goes with that. Saw some small theatre rooms on my way down but we turned right and I found myself in a huge room swarming with people in masks. But it went well. I fell asleep screeching with laughter as the anaesthetist told me a bit of a funny joke which I found hilarious at the time. What a place, they made me feel like royalty. I may hurt for a few days then hopefully all will be fine. White coat is real. It happens to me all the time. At home top number about 140 today it went up to 203 at one stage. I feel a little bit too happy at the moment.. sedation still lurking.😀🤣
  12. Ooooooooh just realised. No longer have a teapot either 🙃🤣
  13. Oh dear..I am really mixing with the elite. I haven't got a gravy boat or a milk jug!!!! Will you let me stay on here and talk to you!!!!! Further to the accident a couple of years ago that has left me partly disabled, because of my gait now limping it has irritated my hip. To say it hurts is an understatement. I cling to walls and furniture in the morning. I went to see a hip expert as my ankle man doesn't do hips. I was expecting a hip replacement but he said he could do injections. I was overjoyed. Then I found out they are in theatre, sedated, and have had two pre op assessments, with ecgs etc. He will do two, possibly three, procedures. Its all happening tomorrow, and I should be home about 6 pm hopefully. Being an insomniac I will enjoy the sleepy feeling Just hope they don't give me Entinox... that makes me laugh at everything, very loudly. ps. all my laughing emoticoms have disappeared
  14. We felt that both Coral and Pearl were too bright which meant there wasn't any special ambience associated with dining out.
