About bringing a folding bicycle
S.A.M.J.R. replied to nothappycruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
So they should... not make the complaint? Here's what I can see happened... 1) Previous poster who forgot their user name. 2) "Lurker" who had never posted 3) Previous poster who wanted to create a new user name for the complain (why?) Occam's Razor says it's one of the first two. Regarding the issue the OP posted about, I think it's an unusual situation that crew members (from security to GS) didn't know how to handle, and instead of saying "let me look into it", made up rules. At the same time, I think OP would have helped themselves out by reaching out to Royal corporate ahead of time, getting information in writing (email), then talking to GS on boarding day with a copy of what corporate said. No, they shouldn't have had to do it, but I think it would have helped. Of course, that's hind sight. I do think OP would have helped US out by using paragraphs. -
I would plan on dropping off the car no later than 9:30A on departure day, possibly even 9A. This is to allow for the wait for the shuttle bus (depending how many people are doing the same thing, you may have to wait for a shuttle). Then find out where to pick up the shuttle after the cruise. Easy peasy.

Extension cord for pre-cruise use
S.A.M.J.R. replied to Brandis's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I travel a lot for work and use a CPAP. Most hotels I stay in (Hilton branded) have outlets on at least one side of the bed, often both. While I carry a 6' (?) extension cord with my CPAP just in case, I haven't had to use it in years. Go to a dollar store and get a cheapy extension cord (like this: https://www.dollartree.com/durex-3-outlet-indoor-polarized-extension-cords-6ft/186860?Ntt=extension cord). Here's the Lowe's version: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Source-6-ft-16-2-2-Prong-Indoor-SPT-2-Light-Duty-General-Extension-Cord/3129343 Keep in in your CPAP case and if it gets through, great! If you get called to the naughty room, let them keep it. Or you can just leave it in the hotel room or trash it before getting on the ship. -
My app on my tablet said it needed updated, wouldn't update so I uninstalled. Went back to the playstore to find it, and found the app RCI uses for it's employees. That might be what pp was talking about. It's ridiculous they don't allow it on tablets. Tablets are easier to read the compass. If they want to get rid of paper compass (disagree with, but will accept) and have people go digital, they should have it work on as many devices as possible (maybe something that's 4-5 generations behind not, but something recent, yes).

Thanks @Host Kat I usually struggle with finding things (free) to do when I'm traveling, so thought this would be something different. I did look, and the day I arrive for work, only one ship is leaving Galveston (Harmony- which is actually the ship we'll be on in July). Still debating.
-
I'm going to Houston for work next month. Should arrive early afternoon on a Sunday. Debating driving down to Galveston to watch the ships depart. Is there a good place to do that?
-
um, but that's not what happened in this situation. It's also possible a TA could tackle a price change quicker than one contacting RCI (by the time you wait on hold).
-
But they even did a call with Royal and couldn't get the price. So why is this a "perfect example" of a TA failure?
-
Doesn't Royal occasionally do sales "for new bookings only"?
-
It's also possible the cabin category is different. Look at a deck plan and make sure you're comparing apples to apples. Just because a room sleeps the same number of passengers and has the same view doesn't mean it's the same category.

And we knew that's what YOU were talking about how? If you read the OP, "We just booked a cruise with Royal Caribbean today", odds are they're not within the 72 hour window. (Oh, and at the time I write this post, the OP was 17 hours previously). And considering the OP goes on to say "one name is listed twice, one name is missing", even if they DID book a cruise leaving in less than 72 hours, I would think Royal would be accommodating. Even airline tickets you can generally change with no issues within the first 24 hours following booking.

Harmony comedy show question)
S.A.M.J.R. replied to S.A.M.J.R.'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think it was our first cruise (Oasis) when we went to the both the "Adult" and the "Family" shows. The family show was basically the adult one with the "bad words" edited out. Jokes aren't as funny the second time around. -
Harmony comedy show question)
S.A.M.J.R. replied to S.A.M.J.R.'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
July 14. Getting tired of my questions? LOL I've been on ships where they've done the "Family" show in the Royal Theater on the last night, the reason I didn't think this was it is it's still marked as 18+. Interesting though, I go to the one for Day 6 and the "Reserve" button is grayed out. I wonder if it is the Family show and they did the title wrong. -
Entertainment has opened for our July cruise. There are two comedy shows listed... When you click into either of them, the description is the same (Adult Comedy LIVE). The only difference is when you reserve, what days/times are available. I assume the shows are the same (with some minor exceptions) and they couldn't fit all of the possibilities under a single banner. Can someone confirm?

I would assume the "day times" are for the "no charge" use. -
Harmony of the Seas Review April 28, 2024 Sailing

Great to hear! We're boarding in just over two months. I doubt it, but are you allowed to take GoPro cameras on the slides? Maybe strapped down? -
Are there individual thermostats in Allure cabins?

Yet another passport question

Trip in July, so no need to panic yet. Her husband applied for his first passport two weeks after she sent hers in. -
Yet another passport question
S.A.M.J.R. replied to Candleonwater's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sorry, didn't explain myself well. The government logged it as "received" on 4/10. She mailed it 4/6. This was a renewal/name change (due to marriage), and no expedite. -
Is Group Check-in allowed on RCI?
S.A.M.J.R. replied to CruiseTime10's topic in Royal Caribbean International
With all the issues with Royal IT, I wouldn't be surprised if the system linking reservations for checkins is different than the system for dining. So I thought I'd ask. -
Is Group Check-in allowed on RCI?
S.A.M.J.R. replied to CruiseTime10's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The only place I can see on the app where our reservations are linked is if I go to book something (dinner, etc). Is there somewhere else I should see the other cabins? -
Yet another passport question

FWIW, DD mailed her passport and was received 4/10. Still "In Process". NOT expedited.
