  1. If you did choose a Venice to Rome or a Rome to Venice cruise, you could fly out of the same airport on the return flight thus paying for a round trip price instead of a multi destination price. Take a train to Florence from the port and then onward to which ever airport you choose to use. None of those cities are very far apart and fairly with the attraction are condensed for easy access.

  2. My family have done a good many cruises over the last 25 yrs.(around 20) but for some reason we have lost our record of ships, dates and destinations. Can anyone tell me how aside from just calling them to approach the cruise line to get that info do it can be applied to our past cruise credits?
    Thanks for your answers

  3. Another question to ask yourselves is do you want to have more at sea days or more port of calls intensive days. It is very hard to most anything in a day. Even a week in Rome or Barcelona is not enough time to really delve in their offerings depending on what you want to see

When you have full or a 3/4 day stop, you will need to be very selective about the ports you visit so  research the stops on a cruise you are thinking about. 10 -14 days offer you much more flexibility for planning your time.

Scandinavia is a nice cruise and is cruise intensive with shorter calls where Turkey or Israel is an overnighter.

    Whatever you decide, enjoy it.

  4. If it's a smaller ship with less people and that's small enough and able to get you up closer in some tight spots found in some of the bays makes it a good choice for alaska, There are fewer kids on board and tends to attract the more mature drunks instead of the younger drunks. Not true.

Look at the Coral Princess. We were in our mid 50's then and were quite satisfied.

  5. Hello everyone. Strange question here.

When visiting a European country and a spouse dies. Does anyone know if those cremains can be hand carried on the return flight or do they need to be checked in at the luggage counter?  Thanks.

  6. You do not have to check bags but make sure they fit in airlines carryon size limit, which is able to fit under the seat. Personal means like a purse, small camera gadget bag, brief case.

For some, flying with no luggage is a red flag to security.

First, you are likely better off asking this over in the https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/499-cruisetravel-insurance/ forum.

Mrs Bear and I have booked multi segment cruises [e.g. NYC - Southampton - Hamburg - Southampton - NYC] with a single insurance payment for the entire sailing.

Once the cruise starts, you are no longer covered for cancelations that you initiate, say if you decide to skip the second week and disembark on the turn around day.

Getting off is not going to happen I am pretty sure. Thank you and Mrs. Bear,

  8. Our family is taking a B2B cruise ,which we have never done before, in May.  To get our itinerary, I needed to book our cruise as 2 cruises instead of one.   I purchased trip insurance for the cruise but am not sure that it will cover the entire cruising time which will be 14 days  B2B.

Do I need to purchase another set of policies  for that second leg even though we are in the same cabin the whole trip?

that’s quite an arrogant response. Not everyone sees things the same as you or is in the same position as you. What makes sense for you makes sense for you, not everyone else. What about someone who has recently recovered from Covid. Why should they be concerned about traveling without a vaccine?

As it stands right now, they aren't certain how long that immunity will or if it exist under what circumstances it may not. Nothing is standing in your way of cruising except the cruise line.

  10. I'm hooked🥶

RC  just squashed my June 7  Carib. cruise for which  I took the 100% refund.   Three hours later, I got the shakes and now need to find another cruise or else!.

Having faith in our world health system, I'm taking a risk by looking at a Sept 4, 2020  sailing  on a Celebrity  to the Western Carib. booking through their  site.

They are presenting  offers for Drinks and Tips at $200 pp. Has anyone been able to negotiate these or more perks  to a better price with one of their partner agents rather than using their site? At least, any suggestions on how to get a better price than $1,500 pp for the cabin

    Thanks

Apparently Royal Caribbean is booking cruises starting the second half of May.  There must be some very optimistic people out there, or else some very liberal cancellation-with-full-refund terms.

Just got an email from RC informing me that they are canceling my June 7, 20 cruise. I think they say they will start back on June 11.

There are certainly plenty of germs floating around land and sea based casinos, but I dont see how the casino presents much more expsoure than the bars, pool or gyms.

Haven't they closed down bars, gyms, dept stores barbershops

and pools? Mandating 6 ft spacing.

  13. When cruising, I enjoy the gaming tables and slots in the casino.

I am wondering how the sitting at  tables with players that are elbow to elbow,  sometime knee to knee contact, not even mentioning blowing into the air when smoking given  the virus adjustments now being implemented will change or will it. Casino revenue is a large chunk of cruise profit and each chair is part of this generation I'm not sure that want to forgo.

Are there any thought about how this may pan out
