Since you may not be aware here is some useful information.  Royal Suite Class collateral materials do not inform you that Pinnacles have access to Coastal Kitchen.  The big perk on Oasis class for Junior Suites (other than the nice cabin, priority embarkation and double points) is dinner in CK.  If there are many pinnacles on your sailing your ability to have dinner in CK will be severely limited and as others have reported here maybe even zero chance of securing a table in CK.

Well, I won't need to worry about the Pinnacles in Coastal Kitchen... I'll be on Enchantment, LOL.

If I like this JS experience though, I may book it on another class of ship next time!

What is the deal RCL offers for booking a cruise while on a cruise?  Has anyone had problems/ successes doing this? Thanks Karen

I've booked several RC sailings in their Next Cruise office.  Got some sizable OBC, the best choice of cabins, and walked away with a free bottle of champagne as a gift for my booking. Not bad!

  3. Was on the Radiance in June, and dinner attire was definitely different than in the Caribbean :) While some people dressed up, there were also many people in jeans and regular shirts. On formal nights, I wore a dress and the husband wore dress pants and a button up shirt. On other nights, he wore a clean shirt and jeans or dress pants... I wore jeans or leggings and a nice shirt. Never felt out of place :)

    Cool, thanks.

  4. Hubby and I along with our friends will be sailing out of Seattle to Alaska in late August.

Anyone who has done this cruise in August, can you tell me what the weather was like? Is it cooler than in the earlier Summer months? Just need to know how to pack/dress for the season! Thanks for suggestions:). :) :):)

  5. I left for over a year, got tired of people arguing for arguments sake and feeling like this site treats posters like kids ...

But I got cruise fever and its a Carnival cruise I am hoping drops in price. ucck.

But yea it might be a good time to dissapear for another year. People arguing over what is up to the mods to decide. lol. if not for arguments, we might get some information easier on this site.

I can totally relate to what you're saying, and I agree. This is probably symptomatic of what's wrong with the world of social media. Sad, but it is what it is. 😕

  6. I will be going on my very Alaska sailing on Explorer of the Seas on August 31st, 2018. I'm not real sure what the weather will be like on a day-to-day basis, but can anyone tell me whether the temps are warm enough to use the pool/whirlpool on the deck? Is there a retractable roof over the area? Need to know whether it makes sense to pack a swimsuit or not. Thanks for any insight.

  7. Hubby and I are booked on the Explorer out of Seattle for late August/1st wk in September. We're excited and I'm glad to know that there are folks here who did the 7day, roundtrip sailing. As a frequent Caribbean cruiser, we simply want to see some different scenery in a unique setting of the world. If I enjoy it as much as everybody here seems to have, I may do a land/cruse combo at a later time. :)

  8. Was just on Adventure of the Seas 9/16 sailing. I said a LOT of "no thank you's" during the cruise. We had 2 wonderful MDR Waiter/Asst Waiters, however my husband and I had a heck of a time having a private conversation. Between the lengthy description of EVERY item on the menu, constant refilling of the water glasses, and asking if we were happy with the service... it was kinda crazy. Of course, they hit us up with the usual request for a "perfect 10" on their rating. Then the photographers while in the middle of enjoying our meal. Even in the Windjammer, a server bearing cinnamon rolls and bagels wanted to sign us up for a drink package and the Mystery Dinner.

Ate one night in Giovanni's where immediately after we finished, the server wanted to sign us up on the spot for another meal that week. The ONLY place where there was no high-pressure sale was in Chops Grille. Hubby and I enjoyed our steaks in peace, LOL. Whew!

  9. Thanks, that's probably what I will do but I'm worried it will be frowned upon if I'm not individually tipping too.

Hey Ginny, don't worry about what the employees will think. Since they don't know you personally, do what makes you most comfortable and is within your budget. Prepay your grats, or remove them and pay cash. It's all acceptable. As someone previously stated, treat the employees respectfully and thank them for their services. Enjoy your vacation! ;)

  10. Question of a different sort. I was one of the fortunate ones to have been able to sail from PR on Adventure's 9/16 sailing over a week or so ago. Unfortunately, we couldn't return to the port for obvious reasons. All of us passengers were returned to Ft. Lauderdale for disembarkation on 9/24; the residents of PR who sailed with us however, stayed on board the ship. It was my understanding that they were to return to PR on today. Anybody know whether Adventure sailed with those passengers? I know they've got to be absolutely worried and exhausted at this point. :(
