  1. they don't release all the reservation times online before the cruise, so you should be able to book Cagneys once you get onboard. Just make it one of the first things you do before all the slots are truly gone
  2. it means 2 meals for one person. but you both have it, so effectively it's 2 people for 2 meals. But just know that really you both have 2 meals for one person. And as @complawyer said, you'll get recommendations for all the restaurants. I don't know what ship you're cruising on, but if you're on one with Food Republic, that would be my recommendation in addition to Cagneys. ENJOY!!!
  3. as of now, the 3/25 and 3/29 cruises are cancelled. So, hopefully your friends should be good for 4/6
  4. wow. I'm looking at doing my first carnival cruise and I'm setting on the Freedom in November. googled the ship to see what it's like, and saw stories about this fire. glad everyone is alright.
  5. As is common with NCL, ask two people, get two different answers. Called CAS today to price an upgrade for a sailing I'm looking at. She asks if I want the drink package, and I said "funny you asked....". I asked about drinks in the casino, and she said the only way to get drinks is to have the drink package. I do believe her answer more than the lady who told me you'll still get drinks, but no physical card. I'm on my way to another casino to watch some bball, and they are doing a certificate giveaway. If they have reps there, I'll ask them too. Although it wouldn't surprise me if it's the same crew I just saw. It would make sense to have them hit up both casinos before they fly back home since they are fairly close
  6. Ok. Well, I do. Besides it had nothing to do with my post anyway
  7. Yes, it's been like that forever. It's that well known?
  8. Why you keep saying they are not NCL customers? They are sitting in an NCL casino losing money, so I'd say they are CAS customers. And it's not like they haven't always treated them differently. Drink card came with certificate bookings where jade CAS "customers" didn't. After nine cruises, I'm pretty sure CAS considers me a customer
  9. Right .... Was this in reference to something?
  10. Honestly, this sounded really shady to me and didn't make sense to me. I'm just reporting what she said. And I don't think she lied. I just felt like she was mistaken. But I now have an answer to compare when I go to the other casino on Sunday
  11. I picked up my first certificate. I was told that I would still have free drinks while playing. It's just that you won't get a physical drink card anymore. I'll see if this is the same answer I get on Sunday when I pick up my other certificate. I guess this would stop you from just going back and forth to the bar without playing. I didn't ask if you'd still be able to walk to the bar yourself or if you have to use a server
  12. They will, but it will be NCL's definition of higher value 😆. For our convenience
  13. I'm picking up two cruise certificates this weekend from two different casinos. I'm going to ask the NCL reps about drinks for land based casino comps.
  14. I see you're from NY, so AC isn't far from you. If you have a high tier card at any of the local casinos (diamond+ at caesars, gold or above at MGM, etc), you can go to Oceans and tier match, which will give you a free cruise on MSC. I'm giving MSC a try this summer using this comp. In addition to free drinks in the casino, you won't be charged an admin fee, port fees, or taxes. I do also see the MSC cruises with the group you're referring, but I don't know the details of their comp
  15. not in the US. $1200 is absolutely the threshold That rule about the odds of hitting is for table games.
  16. I think you should be good this Saturday. I believe the charges are slated for April 1st.
  17. thanks for this info. so sad to hear about the drinks. did you happen to ask about the admin fee?
  18. so, I don't see Jade on the list, but I'm guessing it still exists. Or will you just be "nothing" until you reach 4000 points? I've never been anything but jade, and honestly I don't know if it came with any benefits at all. I never paid attention. Looking forward to hearing from those of you sailing after april 1st to see if the free drinks are indeed gone.
  19. I don't know what this is a picture of, but it's just one way to get a MSC comp, not the only way. This is not what I have. And you're not forced to use money on the ship if you really don't want to. You can use the OBC
  20. I am trying out MSC this summer because not only do they not have a admin fee, they also aren't charging for port fees and taxes for their casino comps. They have a form on their website to do a status match. Carnival also matches
  21. I will really miss the free drinks if they are indeed taken away. I would decline the FAS drinks because of the free drinks in the casino. Maybe we'll get luck and they will also get rid of the admin fee, so now taking the FAS drinks will be almost a wash
  22. yes, you can use two cruisenext vouchers, for $500 total. Or you can just buy a $500 cruisefirst when available (right now they are available). Of course, if you plan on cruising within the next 4 months, you can't use the cruisefirst. But you also can't double up on the cruisenext
  23. wow, it certainly looks like the drinks have been eliminated. I hope it's not for the land based casino comps also. I also decline the FAS drinks and just do the casino drinks and really enjoyed the included water and sodas
