  1. just realized I had a typo. It's now $50 per excursion
  2. I agree. The comp food is more than good enough. I now do one or two specialty dinners only because they come with the free at sea. Otherwise, I'd have no interest. My next cruise is on the escape, and I'm a little bummed that they don't have a Shanghai's onboard
  3. If you book before the cruise, the $50 is taken off the price, but If you book the excursion onboard, your account will be charged the full amount of the excursion when booked and you'll get the $50 back at the conclusion of each excursion.
  4. That has changed. It's not $50 per excursion.
  5. That's an interesting find. Looks like the T&C has changed. they also removed the language about 4 items in the tapas and sushi restaurants.
  6. Although not your first choice, I'd still recommend the salad bar at Moderno. You can also get meatless options at Teppanyaki. Should have no problems putting together a great meal in the Italian restaurant
  7. on the breakaway, they had a really good Asian wok station where I got amazing vegetable stir fry. I've only ever seen this on the breakaway, though
  8. I like the pasta station. If there is some protein I want with my pasta (shrimp, chicken, etc) that they don't have at the station, I just go thru the buffet and get it and hand it to the chef. The pesto sauce is my go to
  9. I agree. I've only sailed with NCL because I didn't want to cruise before hearing about freestyle. I wasn't thrilled about dressing up or assigned eating times when I'm on vacation. A vacation to me is shorts and slides for 7 days, or more :)
  10. I stayed at the La Quinta in Orlando for my cruise last month. Spent $100 for the room, and they have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. there are plenty of shuttle companies, but I use Cortrans. Their shuttle is $30 each way. So you can have them pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the airport after your cruise.
  11. trust me, it will be way different for you this time. Definitely go to the solo meet up each night, if for no other reason than to go do the shared dinner and/or show
  12. I know they at least have red bull, both regular and sugar free
  13. People are incredibly social!! I travel solo all the time and never have a problem meeting folks. There is a solo meeting each night. Please go to it. It's a great place to hook up with other solo travelers. If you're a gambler, the casino is also a great place to meet others.
  14. yes, you'll have to pay. It used to be a standard upgrade free, but not anymore. Call them to see what the upgrade will be. You can also wait for the upgrade bidding and take your chances. On my last cruise, they quoted me over $600 to upgrade from inside to balcony. I did a minimum bid ($125 total) and won a balcony upgrade
  15. sun pearl breakaway (2) getaway Two escape bookings in 2013
  16. I know it's not on your list, but I'd look at moderno. Of course, that is if you're a fan of endless meat 😋
  17. WOW. I didn't realize it would be so much work to get a picture uploaded. Glad I decided to skip online check-in on my last cruise.
  18. yeah, we skipped GSC on my last cruise. I guess they will do whatever it takes not to skip GSC for this one
  19. Or you can turn on your do not disturb light.
  20. wow. Is there still a foreign port? they have to have a foreign port for it to be a legal cruise
  21. the is the upgrade price, meaning you'd already have to have the dining package which the 3rd passenger doesn't have. They would have to pay the regular price
