  1. I'm going to be on the getaway in October. I'm definitely going to take some food to my room after partying/drinking. But now, I'm going to think of this story and will get busted because I'm going to be laughing soooo hard and not concentrating on my escape
  2. Thanks for posting this. I guess I'll just continue to act like I didn't know and walk fast and deliberate. It's usually 2 or 3AM so there aren't many workers around anyway.
  3. yeah, I think it was about 4 years ago and it definitely was a crazy rule. Glad to see that it looks like it's gone.
  4. anyone knows if they still don't want you to take your food to go at O'Sheehans? I like to end my night (after Bliss closes) with wings and a burger. At one time, they didn't want you to take it togo from O'Sheehans for some reason, so I just wait for no one to be looking and leave with it real quick.
  5. for years, I would never go pick up the certificate, and they would forward them on to NCL anyway. I would then just call NCL and get the certificate details. Seems like that has not been happening lately because I called a few weeks ago to check on what I had, and they told me I had no certificates. It sounded strange to me because I felt like I had some previous invitations, but they could have either aged out, or they now are holding fast to the rule that you have to show up and claim the cert
  6. sometimes they will ask for a scanned copy of your current offer, especially if you're a new customer. A copy of the invitation may work, but I'm not sure.
  7. when I log into my account on the NCL website, It is definitely spelled out that this price ($70.80 including gratuities) is for two extra meals. And I can select it with no problems. It just doesn't seem to work on the Android app for some reason, and the description is a little misleading on the app. If it really was unlimited for this price, I would have jumped on it. $35 per meal is still a good deal, but I don't have any problems with the the including places to eat. I'm going to use my one included meal for moderno. Maybe I'll treat myself and get this upgrade and enjoy a couple of steaks. Not too often (more like never) can you get yourself a nice $35 steak meal
  8. I've been wondering the same because I also keep reading conflicting things. But NCL's website says they dock in Amber Cove, https://www.ncl.com/port-of-call/cruises-to-puerto-plata And cruisemapper shows NCL ships docking at Amber Cove, https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports/puerto-plata-amber-cove-port-1936?tab=schedule As does the schedule on the Amber Cove website, https://www.ambercove.com/Port-Schedule.aspx
  9. Just booked a cruise and when I log into the NCL app, there is a section for offer upgrades. One is the ultimate dining package for $70. I've never heard of this package. It reads like you can do a specialty dinner each day. I'm only getting one with the free at sea. Problem is it throws an error whenever I try to select it. Anyone heard of this package before?
  10. I just booked a cruise for October and I'm looking at Go Port. This does look like a pretty good deal. Just the convenience of paying one price and having the hotel and all transportation included. I'm sure I can save a few bucks by booking a hotel (with free shuttle from airport) myself and just booking a shuttle to/from the cruise port, but it won't be much of a savings
  11. LOL. I thought it was just me. I had never heard of it too until reading cruisecritic. so I googled it yesterday to see that it was champagne.
  12. hmmm, you should be getting a drink card. I also book thru using my Caesars player's card, and always get a drink card. It's the low level card, but I do get it. I thought it was standard. Definitionally if you're using the comp certificate that Caesar's gives out.
  13. do you find that you getting drinks on the drink package that you couldn't get with the casino drink card? I also book thru the casino, and I've always declined the drink package as I felt the casino drink card was good enough, especially since it includes water and soda.
  14. I'm going to 2nd that you won't/shouldn't feel any type of way eating solo. I cruise solo and I've never had an issue or felt funny in any way. that being said, please do go to the solo meetup each evening. There is always a group going to dinner together. The solo host reserves a table each night in one of the main dining rooms for the solo group. I noticed you said non-studio ship in your subject. They still have solo meetups on ships without studios/studio lounge.
  15. Anyone on a recent NCL cruise remember what the max line bets were for the craps tables? My next cruise is on the getaway, so any news specifically from that ship would be great, but I'm guessing the min/max are pretty standard across the ships
  16. I didn't see it mentioned in the posted letter, but they are refunding the port fees for any skipped port, right?
  17. I do the same when I'm using two cruisenext certs and I'm short
  18. premium plus upgrade is $29 per person per day. Gratuities would be 20%, so $5.80 per day
  19. as a solo, I'm seriously considering this upgrade, especially since it's been reported that the quoted prices include gratuities. I like Macallan, which NCL charges $30 a shot. Just three a day makes the upgrade worth it for me, and I'll have at least 4 (two doubles) with my daily cigar
  20. there are much better things to argue about. Like "HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!" 🙂
  21. it says for guest 1 and 2, so I'm reading it as you'll both get 2 more meals.
