I've lived in California too long! I don't recall ever seeing a pair of waterproof pants. Where would I go to find some online?
Sierra Trading Post, REI, Costco, Sams

Nice new clothes! You're all set for the cruise. Alternate between the 2 pairs of pants and the shirts, add in a little sweater!
I was trying on some of my summer tops and shorts pre-Vegas. It's crazy how things are just big on me now. I used to be able to wear the same things year after year because my body size didn't change that much. Now, even tops that I got last year look too big. Good and bad. I think the Women's Shelter here in town will be getting a donation.
Melody - I had that problem with my hair stylist a few years ago when she had a wrist issue. I asked her for a recommendation of someone she thought I'd trust. See what your stylist thinks.
OOTD: It's a little cool (mid 40s) and rainy today. Just going to be lazy today so just wearing a pair of leggings and a Tshirt. Oh, the turtleneck in the photo from Vegas -it's from Woolx. Light, and comfy. Even comfortable in the Vegas heat. Just thought I'd toss that out if anyone is looking for a nice Tneck for year-round, casual and dressy piece.
Kat, I did that when she first broke the shoulder, Les’s hair looked great. Mine looked great in back but my sides weren’t even & it’s driven me crazy!!! I’ll wait for her

We are Elite+ and my DW will be so excited when she hears hot chocolate is free at Al Bacio, as we will no longer book a cabin with the All Included package and get our bottled water and glasses of wine during Happy Hour!
Best hot chocolate!

Kat, Your trips sound like you had fun. Great pictures.
Melody, Is there anyone else in the salon you would go to for a cut? Or just to have your hair washed? When I broke my wrist, I had a blow out every week. No way could I wash my hair.
She’s a one person shop, I’ve been going to her for over 25 years

Thanks for the many food locations in Honolulu. We’re taking the entire (14) family in June to Oahu. Most haven’t been so Arizona, Mighty Mo, Punchbowl are required trips.

Kat. You look great! I love the tapas idea! We’ll be inVegas a day on each side of Hawaii…
no luck with hairdresser. She just had the same surgery I did. One month before mine. I dearly need a haircut!!

Sherri. Safe trip & good luck to your grands!!! Melody

Having just had shoulder replacement, don’t do a backpack pack. One shoulder sling at max

Plus, you said it was your dominant side too? Are you able to use your fingers/hand for minor tasks yet?
Probably not supposed to but I can barely hold a fork in my left hand. So yes I’m using hand

My husband used to call it the law of diminishing appetite….The longer the cruise the less we seemed to eat daily. After our longest cruise on our flight home my husband and son were discussing what food they had missed/were looking forward to as they returned home…Home made veggie soup won!
Lol. Our fist meal home is always homemade veggie soup!

I have heard that rotator cuff surgery feels like a chainsaw to the shoulder, it's good to hear that replacement isn't as bad.
Keep healing well!
Chainsaw is an apt analogy this has been significantly less painful, just the irritating brace 24/7

You could do the same with a long sleeve shirt. I just rarely wear them.
We don't use pain balls at our out surgery center-we use nerve blocks, and lots with Exparel. It's a long acting medication. It can last up to 96 hours.
Keep up the PT-it's your best bet right now.
I had the lovely nerve block & pain ball because I’m allergic to so many pain meds. I’ve had 4 Tylenol & and Phenergen (nausea) since surgery last Weds. so far this is much less pain than a rotator cuff. Pt & ice are my friends

I’d suggest a one shoulder travelon crossbody bag instead

We only had about three hours, but we walked around (I managed to get us lost, then unlost) and ate a meal. We walked in and I told the host "we're American tourists that don't speak a word of French, but we'd like a meal. Can you help us?" He laughed at me and we ate a danged good meal. The menu was an initial challenge-it was in French, duh-but there was a QR code to scan for several foreign languages. We stopped at the store recommended by our guide to get some wine on the way back to the bus.
When I broke my shoulder, I wore t-shirts. I'd put the injured arm on first, then use the good arm to stretch it over my neck and other shoulder. I took the injured arm off first. I wore bra and shirt for two days too, showering ever second day. Hair washing was the worst, especially since mine is long.
It’s been too cold for tshirt. I’ve got a couple of waffle weave shirts that are working great. Much easier now that the painball catheter is gone. Now I can slide into a shirt. It’s my dominant right arm. Destroyed my biceps tendon too. Pt at home yesterday was interesting. She was surprised at my range of motion.

We knew the retina could detach again due to the size of the detachment with full macular off. He had so much scar tissue too. It’s been a tough couple months
-
Lois, we need to heal!!!

Les had his retina detach again on Monday, surgery Tuesday (his 75th bday). Shoulder replacement for me yesterday. Seems to be ok, but nerve block hasn’t worn off yet. Melody

Home from shoulder replacement yesterday. Long day, 7am checkin. 9-1230 surgery & got home at 6pm. Long time in recovery. Worst part is finding clothes to fit!! Pt starts tomorrow at home as neither of us can drive

Lois, the eye wasn’t done incorrectly the first time, we knew it was a possibility due to the severity of the detachment. Lousy way to spend his bday tho. Melody
