  1. My best CCL memory is our first cruise with our son of 2.5 years of age. To see all the wonder and his looks of amazement when on board. he's 16 yo now and I wish so much that I could turn back time and go back to when he was 2.5 again.
  2. She actually likes the food choices
  3. Yep, thanks for all the post, Getting dressed formal for me is usually a nice pair of wranglers a button-down shirt with a tie and a sports jacket. But the DW was wanting to go all out on our upcoming cruise on the Glory.
  4. We started cruising in the early 2000s, and way back then I remember Carnival use to have Tuxedo and suite rentals available on board. I realize that Formal night is enforced as much as some would like, but is the rental for formal wear still available
  5. Any differences in boarding protocol or requirements between NO port or Los Angeles
  6. when I first joined CC almost everyone had a countdown clock attached to their post or profile. What happened to them?
  7. Not lost but the 1 thing that did happen at the Port of NO was it was a torrential down pour and we received two out of three bags soaked to the bone, new luggage was bought shortly after that cruise.
  8. I always have my go too orders from the MDR when were on a cruise, but I never pass up a chance at escargot. It's the only place I have ever had them and love them, so I'm sure there's land-based places that have better, but I'm happy with Carnivals.
  9. Were booked on the glory leaving that Sunday, everything that we researched was booked in NO so were staying in Baton Rouge. I guess all is booked due to the 4th of July weekend,
  10. I I guess it's like any port the cruise ships mean a influx of money to that city.
  11. We will be in Key West on the 4th but will probably be too far from the port to see any firewor ks.
  12. We will be on the Glory on July 4th. Does Carnival do anything for the 4th celebration. I know that there will be no fireworks, but I was wondering if there would be a theme party are something.
  13. Ordered the red velvet 😃
  14. The simple answer is that we love to cruise, and we only cruise from ports that are with in a days drive due to the reason that my wife refuses to fly. We live on the Texas new Mexico border and key West is about a 30 hr drove and would use up the majority of my vacation time driving. Thanks for the question.
  15. Weve only sailed to the Caribbean and Bahamas and are used to that kind of atmosphere on the ship kind of always upbeat. Is an Alaska cruise more laid back with less of a party atmosphere? Do the casino and the rest of the ship stay lively at night, or do they roll up the carpets and everyone is in their rooms by 9pm?
  16. USMC in the 80s, been their done that
  17. Was going to order a 9" cake for DS B-day, just wondering if they are any good. Thanks for any comments
  18. Thanks for all the great responses with the pros and cons of the ports that have been mentioned
