  1. Celebrity gave us a check-in time of 11:30 AM-3:30 PM for a 5 PM sailing. Curious what time passengers would probably start to line up. Can tagged luggage be dropped off prior to 11:30 AM? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for your post. We were given an 11:30AM-3:30PM check-in time for a 5PM sailing. Do you know if luggage (with Celebrity bag tags) can be dropped off prior to that time? We'd like to wander around the harbor prior to boarding without being bogged down with luggage. How far ahead of check-in time did people start to line up?
  3. I would make the reservation as soon as you have your schedule set. Easy to make the reservation on its website https://www.alaskarailroad.com/ride-a-train/route-map . It can get crowded at the station so I feel more comfortable only having to walk up to the counter (and wait in line) to pick up our tickets. Would be a shame to have everything planned, but not be able to buy a ticket.
  4. We have taken AKRR train. We have also done it by coach (part of a Seward boat package). For next southbound cruise, I guess it will depend on what we decide to do in Seward prior to boarding ship and what time we need to be there. We enjoyed the train ride better.
  5. Is that an everyday happening, or just on a certain day(s)?
  6. I agree that the scenery is very good on the train. Have done that trip and also the coach trip in the past. We have done a couple boat tours in Seward, visited the SeaLife Center and hiked Exit Glacier. The ACT coach has a drop off right at the Anchorage hotel we are considering at the top of the hill. Train drop off is the train station near the old Comfort Inn at bottom of hill. Still have some time to make a final decision. Thank you.
  7. I may have missed it in this thread, but where is the Elite breakfast served on the Summit? Thanks.
  8. Thank you for all of your replies. I think we may end up doing the coach transfer (ACT) with the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center stop, and then get dropped off at our hotel in Anchorage. Will probably spend a day or two in Anchorage before flying home.
  9. Waiting to hear back from our Celebrity vacation planner, but what kind of options does Celebrity offer in the way of post-cruise transfers from Seward to Anchorage? Thanks.
  10. Thank you. Have already printed out dinner confirmation times for the week. First time on Celebrity for us.
  11. When we booked our cruise, we downloaded the app and then made dinner reservations. Pretty easy to do. We'll check in at the MDR to confirm as soon as we board.
  12. Do you find on Celebrity (we've never been on) that one show time is better attended than the other?
  13. I just read the alcohol policy on Celebrity website. 👍 Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard one (1) 750 ml bottle of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest.......
  14. Have not be on Celebrity before. Can you bring these drinks into the MDR? Tip jar for these complimentary drinks? Thanks.
  15. Just got off Princess with its "Dine My Way". Hostess always asked (even though we had made reservations) if we wanted table for two or shared. Did both. For this Celebrity cruise we decided to do select dining with same time for all but one night, and a later time for our late port (Juneau) night.
  16. I guess so. At home we are easily finished with washing dishes by 6:30pm.🙂
  17. I thought a passenger could only carry on two 750ml bottles of wine at embarkation.
  18. We like a table for 6 to meet different people, but in our experience we have found that with a table for 2 (at 5:45pm) we have a better chance to make it to the early shows. Have you found this to be the case also?
  19. Thank you for the all of your replies. Is there a place on app to choose table size?
  20. Have not been on Celebrity before. If we do fixed seating for 6 nights, can we do anytime dining for the 7th night (Juneau has late departure)? Thanks.
  21. Curious why someone would make reservations for one level of the Summit's Cosmopolitan Restaurant over the other?
  22. Again, thank you for your time with these questions. Very much appreciated! Once we get to Waterfront Road in front of the cruise terminal, I assume (maybe I shouldn't) that it is well marked for pedestrian entry and to the luggage drop-off. We should have ample time. Light bags not too sure----each with medium size suitcase with rollers, 1 carry-on with rollers and a backpack. Now will look into Canada Line from YVR to Blue Horizon. Have never used it. What is the closest drop off to BH? Thanks again. You have been a big help.
  23. I think my wife has settled on the Blue Horizon. I read that it takes about 17 minutes to walk to Canada Place from the BH. With luggage on wheels, would that be an easy walk? Downhill? Sidewalks? You are loaded with information! Thank you again.
  24. Thank you for all of your comments. Glad that we picked out a few that should be fine. I noticed that the EXchange is only a 6 minutes walk to the pier. Each of us will only have 2 pieces of luggage and small backpack so that may be her choice. I was looking more at the BH. Now will let my wife take a final look before decision is made. Thanks again!
