  1. Trying to decide between 3 hotels in Vancouver for wife and me to spend a couple nights prior to cruise. Wondering if you can help us out. Looking for safe area and near restaurants. EXchange Hotel, Blue Horizon Hotel and the YWCA Hotel. Thank you.
  2. On northbound 7 night sails, what nights are "formal"? Thanks.
  3. Thank you for your reply. More questions if I may. Looking at the Celebrity app, I didn't see anything about table size for a choice. Are there tables for two? Made reservations for times, but no mention of table size. Looks like different opening dinner times for decks 4 and 5 of restaurant. Disregarding times, did you prefer one deck over the other? Were you able to order a couple entrees, desserts for a meal? We saw maybe 3 guys with a tux and several with jackets on the Sapphire. Thanks again.
  4. My wife and I signed up for the Summit to Alaska for next year--- sister ship to Millenium. First time doing a Celebrity cruise. Wondering if you could post a copy of one of the daily "Celebrity Today" newsletters. Did you have a favorite scenic viewing area on ship? We just got off the Sapphire Princess and show times were 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. 45 minutes long. Why did you have no choice but 6 pm dining? Nice that you were able to bring some alcohol onboard. Princess allowed only a 750ml bottle of wine per passenger at embarkation. We were able to pick our embarkation boarding time. On formal night, did many guys wear sport jackets? Several did on the Sapphire. Thank you.
  5. Lower Dewey. Also Laughton Glacier (https://wpyr.com/excursions/product/skagway-to-laughton-round-trip/).
  6. We are staying at the Captain Cook in June and have a train transfer the next morning to Whittier leaving Anchorage at 10AM. Package is through Princess.
  7. Curious how far in advance do most make pre-cruise hotel reservations. Will be leaving from Vancouver to Alaska. Thanks.
  8. I just sent you an email. Please email me back with your phone number. Easier to talk than type. Bruce
  9. My wife and I have flown with Michelle 4 times, including one trip to "Anan Wildlife Observatory" to see bears. Plan to go with her again next summer.
  10. If you like Mackinac Island fudge, you'll like the fudge at the Alaskan Fudge Company. Owner is from northern Michigan. https://alaskanfudge.com/about/
  11. Curious why Princess medallion has our countdown at 35 days to sail and the Princess online website has the countdown at 37 days on the Cruise Personalizer. Then after clicking on the "Manage this Booking" it shows the countdown is at 36 days.
  12. Will watch for the other entertainment as sail date approaches. So far the 2 production shows are the only shows/entertainment on the app schedule for the theater in the evening.
  13. The medallion app shows only two nights that have after dinner theater activities (production shows) for the upcoming AK season. Wondering if more activities/shows are added as sail date approaches (6 weeks out). Looking back at Princess Patters from last year's Royal sail, activities were scheduled in the theater all seven nights.
  14. Isn't there a video to watch before heading to muster station?
  15. Wondering what month you did this excursion. We will arrive in Ketchikan on June 12th, 3 days prior to dungeness crab season. Trying to find out from our our Princess Planner how this excursion is offered prior to the season start. I don't see anything on the Princess website, so thought CC may be faster. Thanks.
  16. Thank you. A few years ago we flew up to Glacier Bay and over to Juneau--five nights total. Stayed at a B & B in Gustavus (Blue Heron). Enjoyed the visit.
  17. Wondering if the Summit has plenty of space for outdoor viewing. The Princess and RC ships we have sailed on in Alaska have had sufficient space. We have always done the north to south itineraries, so wanted to try a south to north sail (2024). Have never made it to Sitka in the past so we are considering this itinerary. We have been to Glacier Bay on cruises in the past as well as independently, so missing GB is not a problem. Will be there again this summer. Thanks.
  18. Wife and I got off the Royal on Saturday and tested positive at home two days later. Fortunately we took the Princess coach transfer to SEA (no testing needed to cross border by land travel at the time.) rather than the transfer from ship to YVR. Didn't want the 10 day Canadian quarantine if positive.
  19. Talked with Princess today. Said our voyage was exempt from new ruling. He was pretty tight lipped about it when I asked for explanation. Impression I got, maybe right or wrong, was that June sailings would not be involved with those tests. Anyone out there that has a June sailing that is being tested prior to AK land cruise?
  20. No message on my cruise personalizer and we leave for Anchorage in 2 days. Hope to get through to Princess tomorrow-hope open on holiday. The person who posted that "new protocol" is administrator for that Facebook group said she did not know the effective date. There were several members who opened their personalizer and the new protocol message popped up.
  21. Princess Cruises will be doing Covid testing for those on an Alaska land tour prior to embarkation . Wondering what type of test will be done--PCR? NAAT? rapid antigen self test? Not uncommon for some tests to have false negatives. I talked with Princess and the fellow said he didn't know. His response was "whatever they have on hand at the time."
  22. Curious if passengers take a camera on the Princess Nenana River Raft Scenic Wilderness Run excursion. Company does not recommend it, but from videos I have seen, it looks like a pretty tame run. No dry bags or day bags are allowed. I have a small Canon underwater camera that has made several trips down the Colorado River, but easy to store it when need be. Thanks.
  23. Wondering if passengers were able to get off ship right after docking in port. We have a non-ship shore excursion one half hour after scheduled docking in Skagway and will be met at the dock. Has worked out in the past for us, but now may not be staffed enough to make things run smoothly. Thanks.
  24. From the ridebooker website for the Quick Shuttle: Additional Bag | $20.00 USD | Per Additional Item Per additional piece of luggage over and above the 1 regular bags + 1 carry on limit + 1 personal Item
