  1. Wow! Could you imagine thinking you were good for Vibe purchase and then getting bumped if you didn’t prepay???? Holy smokes. I prepaid, simply because that’s what the lady from NCL instructed me to do.
  2. Gary, you’re not creating controversy or fear. I’ve learned that some people just like to “go there”. Overall, I’m very happy with all of the advice and communication, especially in this particular post! The takeaway here is this: when you book your cruise, book Vibe. Make it a mantra!
  3. I was teasing my wife and friends that this took the competition out of it! Checking to see who was wearing tennis shoes vs flip flops (bad for running!), who was eyeballing the roped entrance, who was trying to bribe the port guy who takes the boarding group cards, who’s lining up way too early at the front only to see them get angry when Platinum went first, listening to the strategy sessions of others around you in the terminal. Going to miss those days.
  4. I think we’re going to start seeing some sold out Vibe Beach Clubs.
  5. Good, glad to hear. Of my five Vibe experiences, I’m only aware of single day passes being offered on board once. Encore in February 2022. I’m sure many others can chime in here, I just haven’t seen the day pass option for others.
  6. Will probably have to call NCL. Single day passes might not be offered based on demand and advance sales.
  7. Ok, I can see a few being held back for the Haven guests and concierges; but I’m not sure if NCL will hold back if they can sell them out. Still think this is a way to generate revenue and improve cash flow for NCL. Seeing now that some people are able to add it to their bill instead of ore paying before final payment date. I truly thought NCL was trying to improve their financial position right now.
  8. Nice! I paid $229 for a 7 day. That’s about $32 per day. You’re at $24!
  9. Vacation44, my sailing is Prima March 5 2023. Weird, all these inconsistencies. It’s the luck of the draw who you get on the phone. The NCL rep I called was aware of the Vibe pre purchase policy, took my payment, and I received a confirmation email before I hung up. Then my TA sent the same confirmation email to me within minutes.
  10. Good for you! And I think your service will be better since there are always at least two bartenders assigned to the Vibe deck. Enjoy your trip!
  11. You usually get a day bed with two side tables, some form of wall separating you from each cabana. $100 OBC for a seven night cruise. Not sure about your 10 day. Pros are a little privacy and the option to still use a lounge chair if you like. Cons are the cabanas get HOT! Wind is blocked but you can roast in there!
  12. I haven’t used wristbands the last 5 times in Vibe. Those bartenders know who’s supposed to be in there and who’s not. A few years ago on Bliss some guests who brought unpaid friends ” into Vibe had to be reprimanded by the GM and security after not listening to the bar staff. Great people watching that day!
  13. It will either be on cards already or (God forbid) we have to go the dreaded Guest Services new card route. I mean, dining and beverage packages are already on the card; hopefully Vibe will be stamped on it too and wristbands can be distributed at the actual Vibe bar.
  14. Doesn’t appear to be an option to purchase it in advance. Interested if they let you use OBC. As I said earlier, I think this is a way for NCL to generate some cash flow. They’re not broke, they’re not shutting down….I just think it adds some revenue.
  15. I don’t think so. I think this is a way to generate cash for NCL; people with lower cost cabins or latitude status can now spend more money on their cruise they otherwise would or may not have spent. Cruise is already booked and paid for; the cost of Vibe is the additional bartenders for NCL. The more they fill Vibe, the more it’s a true profit dynamic. The deck is already allocated. The chairs and hot tubs are already in place. If they can fill it (and have the cash infusion literally months before sailings), it strengthens the NCL financial position. Encore in particular did not fill its larger Vibe for Carribean sailings this past spring (limited capacity on board definitely impacted the numbers). Now, there is a greater chance Vibe is full, resulting in better cruise experience for pax who may have not wanted to run for passes, get to the port early, etc.
  16. Gary, some good news. You can now book Vibe in advance, just call NCL. And, like so many others, I enjoy reading your experiences. And, like you, I try not to forget where I came from. Sparing you the comparisons of necessary thrifting upbringings, I love the fact that after your busy work life and stroke, you seem to be truly enjoying your family and the cruising experience. We all have so much to be thankful for, don’t we? Blessed to be on the ocean with the views, grabbing a Cheeseburger for lunch , and enjoying some outstanding whiskey now and then! Have a great rest of summer!
  17. Sorry, my answer is for the Vibe part; I am unsure for Haven.
  18. There is an elevator. But only one (not kidding) that goes to the actual sun deck.
