  1. I'm sorry most of your group had covid, especially on such a short cruise. We are going on Oasis soon. Would you mind sharing some details about how they handled Covid for your group? Did they feel sick and get tested? Were they moved to other cabins? Did they test all of you since you might have been close contacts? It's terrible that the cruise lines don't have standard procedures for handling covid. They certainly have enough experience with it.
  2. When Oasis is at the Port of Miami, there a taxi line justt outside the terminal.
  3. They probably share a real bed in a hotel which is more comfortable than a sofa bed.
  4. I'm so sorry you will miss your cruise. You mentioned being a no-show. Since you have insurance you need to actually CANCEL your cruise to file a claim. Don't be a no-show. Your internet and beverage packages AND your port taxes and fees will be refunded by the cruise line.
  5. If she has trip insurance and is cancelling for a covered reason, she needs to cancel with the cruise line and submit a trip insurance claim. If her cabinmate has trip insurance, her policy will most likely cover the solo supplement.
  6. They wash in hot water. You cannot specify cold water or special handling. They might allow you to bring the pack n play with you, but all the luggage you don't give to the porters must fit through the scanners. You should put all the baby supplies you need right away in carryon size luggage.
  7. I am also a worrier so I understand. I believe in redundancy, so I carry our passports and have DH carry our passport cards. If one of us has them lost or stolen, the other has documentation that will also allow us to board the ship. (Before we had passport cards, I had him carry our birth certificates and state id cards as a backup.) I print our passes, because I like to keep my phone stored in my cross body purse.
  8. Wow, keep us posted. How long was the power out? Did the ship start moving again? Safe travels
  9. Give your large luggage to the porters. You'll have to keep your carryon bags with you until the cabins are available, which is often around 1:00 - 2:00 Although there are no DIY washing machines, you can send laundry out for it to be washed and folded.
  10. I brought my own masks earlier this year, but guest services also gave disposable masks out upon request. Don't they still do that?
  11. I didn't know that! I bought the "VOOM SURF + STREAM Internet Package" for an upcoming Oasis cruise. It is the only internet option in the cruise planner. Is Starlink a different internet plan? We were on Oasis for a B2B earlier this year. I was disappointed that I couldn't backup my my iPhone photos to iCloud using the ship's internet.
  12. I agree with this. Also, RCL probably still uses huge buses for airport transfers. You have to wait for the entire bus to fill before they leave. That would be a major hassle with 4 young kids.
  13. If you're one of the early groups to board, the muster station might not be staffed to mark you complete. If that happens, just return there in the early afternoon. You can also watch the muster information on the tv in your cabin. You don't have to use the app.
  14. Are you going from the port of MIami? I'd just get in the taxi line and tell them you need a large taxi for our family. I wouldn't arrange any transportation in advance, because you won't know exactly what time you'll exit the port building.
  15. This is the best answer. It might have been better if you had mentioned it to them earlier in your cruise.
  16. We rode the helium balloon in March and loved it. It gave us a beautiful view of everything on the island. Just a warning: It is often too windy to operate the helium balloon. We had tried to ride it 4 other visits, but it was always too windy. When that happens and you have pre-purchased it, they automatically apply the credit to your onboard account. My husband has wanted to do their zipline. But it has also been closed because of wind every time we've been there except the day in March when we rode the helium balloon. He hadn't purchased the zipline in advance and just didn't feel like doing the zipline that day.
  17. Exactly. To the original poster: If your friend's family emergency is a covered reason for cancelling according to their insurance policy, your policy likely will reimburse you for the single supplement you will be charged if you still cruise. It all depends on the terms and conditions of each of your trip insurance policies. It will probably be easier to understand what will happen if you both have the same exact policy. That's why Royal can't give you an answer.
  18. The ship photographers wander around CocoCay and take pictures of people. It's just a matter of finding one when you want one. I've seen their photographers around the swimming pools and the beaches. They've taken some beautiful pictures of us in the water at Chill Island with the ocean in the background. The photographers even go in the ocean (like up to their knees) to get great pictures. I prefer their pictures at CocoCay in a natural setting rather than inside the ship in front of backdrops.
  19. The link to my pictures was sent from this email address: no-reply@royalcaribbeanint.com
  20. I don’t think she’d be allowed to sail. Unvaccinated kids that age need a PCR test. Emed tests are antigen tests so that doesn’t help her. I don’t know if they can find another place to do a PCR test with fast turnaround? Good luck
  21. No, covid protocols can change at any time and can be effective immediately.
  22. You need to make 2 separate calls. I created my account and was able to add my husband as a family member within my account.
  23. On every B2B we've done on Royal and other cruise lines, all the B2B people are told to meet in a specific room at a specific time. After everyone else has left the ship, they bring the B2B people off the ship, guide you through Customs, and right back on the ship before the new passengers start boarding. I've read that sometimes the Customs people board the ship and go to the B2B meeting room, but we haven't experienced that. Pre-Covid, you could go back to your cabin before other passengers could access them, but they're often doing special cleaning in the hallways now and you may not be able to access your cabin until everyone can. Be sure to go to Guest Services early in your first cruise to make sure you're on their B2B list. B2Bs are the best!
  24. I don't think passport cards are useless. When I renewed our passport books last year, I also got us passport cards. I believe in redundancy. I carry our passports going to a cruise and my husband carries our passport cards. That way if the passports that I carry are lost or stolen, we could still board the cruise ship with passport cards. We always have 2 flights and a night or two in a hotel so there is a lot of opportunity to have something bad happen.
