Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The vendors was extremly pushy. Even 10 no gracias didn't stop them from besieging the people.
  2. We took an Uber. There are a lot of taxi drivers at the entrance to the port who are extremely pushy.
  3. Our cruise on the Norwegian Bliss ends on February 11 in the port of San Pedro and we will spend two more nights in Hollywood before flying back to Switzerland. The Pacific is too cold for swimming in mid-February. But is there anything going on at the promenades in Venice Beach or Santa Monica so that you can have a good stroll there? That's just one option. I've been to the city before and I know I won't get bored. It's my girlfriend's first time. I'm planning to take an Uber from the port to the hotel and I don't think the traffic will be too bad on a Sunday morning. Or do you have any better suggestions?
  4. Thank you very much. Is the Upgrade still available on embarkation day at the same say?
  5. Thanks for all the answers. But it sounds to me like I would do without the discounted purchase of two specialty restaurant reservations in advance and instead see if we can find something suitable during the cruise.
  6. This is our first time on NCL. Is it possible to book specialty restaurants during the cruise? Background: We have three reservations included with Free at Sea and already in November we had difficulty finding any availability at all and if so, then only at bad times very early or very late. We would actually be interested in purchasing two more reservations as an upgrade, which is cheaper. But if we can't find any decent times for availability, we'd rather not. We will start on January 27th on the Bliss. Roman and Daniela Switzerland
  7. Of course, Aida warmly welcomes all international guests. But they only focus on the German-speaking market. For the homepage: Meanwhile, all common Internet browsers have a translation button. And they already work very well. Which browser do you have? Multilingual homepages are no longer necessary.
  8. Thank you for the detailed answers. Our cruise on the Norwegian Bliss departs from Miami on January 27th and we will be in Panama City from the evening of January 31st to February 1st. If you can call an Uber that would be good for us too. With shuttle buses, it would of course depend on where they go from.
  9. Hi Our ship will be in Panama City overnight. The scheduled time is from 8:00 PM Wednesday evening to 3:00 PM Thursday. We have booked an excursion for the day. However, we would like to go into the city in the evening after docking. What do you recommend? We would like to stroll around the old town, have a drink and maybe a bite to eat? Is there anything going on? Are there taxis from the cruise port to the old town? I've heard that the cruise port is still under construction. Roman and Daniela
  10. I don't know if I'm in the right place, at least it's about money.... In various European countries I travel cashless, namely in the North, e.g. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, UK, Iceland. Also in my home country Switzerland I get along practically without cash and I use the credit cards, which I have on the cell phone. Tipping also goes well with the card. In England, street musicians and beggars have already adapted to it. What about the destinations for our next cruise? Even in the USA, where the credit cards come from, it was not possible to travel without cash before Corona. Did Corona also trigger a push in America and the Caribbean? Where do you still need cash? We will be in New York, Florida, ABC Islands, Cayman Islands, Bimini (Bahamas) and Cozumel (Mexico). Do I need local currencies like Aruban Florin, Netherlands Antillean Guilder or Bahamian Dollar (OK, they officially have the US$ as well). I will certainly have US$ with me, but probably only for small amounts. Are the other currencies recommendable or can I rely on the credit card? In general, what is the situation in the U.S. and the Caribbean islands mentioned?
