I want to make a post about some awesome crew members we have encountered so far. I may have already mentioned a few of them, but I can’t remember who I have and haven’t.
I Gede our room steward is on it! Any request we have made (blue blankets, more towels) are handled promptly…like, less than 5 minutes and we have them! He’s also super friendly and always smiling.
Ragu, our server in the MDR last night (we have anytime dining) was so quick and efficient, and friendly. He’s been with the company 30 years and knows his stuff. Any questions we had about menu items he was able to answer, and dinner service was quick.
Setyo at the Ocean Plaza bar in the morning is sooo friendly, makes awesome coffee (and espresso martinis) and by day 2 remembered our names and coffee preferences. She’s awesome!!
Keshore at the Havana bar is here until May 26 and i absolutely love him! He’s funny, remembers his guests’ names and drink preferences (or maybe that’s a sign I drink too much) and just really enhances the fun vibe and experience of the area. He’s joked with us and we’ve had a great time.

That yummy yacht is the M.Y. Faith. She is available for charter, 12 guests in 7 cabins, crew of 31. Costs a bit more than the MSC YC: $1,736,000/week plus expenses. EM
Hey, thanks for that info!!

That’s what I want to know!

It is yummy!!

The lady working at the deli now was also there in December and her attitude hasn't changed since then. She does almost kinda give me a sort of half smile when she sees me, but I also don't make any special requests so maybe that's why lol. I feel for her because she always seems to be the only person working and there are usually long lines of people waiting. They really need another person making sandwiches.
Anyway, my St. Thomas excursion just got cancelled because of rip currents so I have no idea what to do today. Maybe I'll do the Sky Ride since I've never done it before.
Aw, sorry to hear about your excursion! What one was it? We have a catamaran sail & snorkel.

We've done the skyride in St. Thomas several times - you just can't beat the views from up there. In August we were on a Disney cruise with our youngest son and DIL and did some hokey island tour that ended at the pirate museum next to the skyride. I couldn't get out of that place fast enough. LOL We took the skyride to the top and had a few frozen drinks and apps and enjoyed the view. It was the highlight of our day in St. Thomas.
Yikes, that’s bad she has a rep going in the FB groups.

After dinner we walked to Red Frog Pub for a drink and to play shuffleboard, then decided that we were just DONE. The sun has taken it out of all of us, and even tho it’s only 8:00 we are in the cabin in our PJs. Tomorrow is St Thomas, and we have an excursion planned so we gotta rest up!

We spent the afternoon in the Havana area drinking Cuban iced teas and lounging in the pool and hot tub. It was wonderful! We stayed until 4, then decided to take turns using the shower and getting ready for dinner. I love tonight’s menu….the shrimp poke bowl is sooooo good, Girod salad yummy, and Indian vegetarian dish spicy!!

After learning about my steak sauce, I sulked and headed back onboard. It was about 1:30, and we hit up the deli for lunch. I got a veggie burger and then went to Guy’s to get fries and fix up the veggie burger from the toppings bar there. Yum!! I gotta say tho, the lady working the deli is NOT friendly, she’s actually kinda mean (she scowled at me when I asked for cheese on my veggie burger and huffed when I said no fries) and she is SLOW. Expect a long line and to wait 10-15 minutes sometimes.

We hit up Blue Iguana for breakfast about 9:30, and there were no lines. The food was delish, I got an arepa (with the tomatillo salsa it’s YUMMYLICIOUS!) and a burrito. B got the same and devoured it. Mom, being a little pickier, didn’t like the arepa (WHAT is wrong with her???) and unrolled her burrito and picked thru the innerds.

Just wondering where you got that delicious looking steak and cheese sandwich from! The deli?
The deli. It’s yummy!!
9 hours ago, Knights on the Beach said:So good to hear this about the BBQ! It was very inconsistent on our 4 Mardi Gras cruises and just plain awful on Celebration in December. Can't wait to get some GOOD mac & cheese!
How have the lines been for Guy's Burgers, pizza & deli? Just read some comments on FB and they made it sound like 30 minute lines all the time. We usually try to avoid peak times and have little to no issues but we've never been on a Vista class ship so close to spring break either. 😉
I don't think they've had food in the Havana Bars since the restart.
Guy’s line moves quick. Pizza was pretty dang quick too. Deli…ugh. I adore the deli, but it’s slooooow and the girl working there this week needs a shirt saying “I love my job.” Twice now she’s been less than friendly and just…unFunship worthy.

@MObeachbabyi had the cafecito and cordadito which was just like a shot of expresso basically. Not big at all.
No complimentary Cuban food served anytime.

Before I forget, randomness about cabin 5227:
Our a/c unit makes a weird sound sometimes, like this very rhythmic…not a rattle, not a bumping…I can’t describe it. Tapping on the wall next to the bathroom just so shuts it up.
The shower! Oh my! The water pressure in there is CRAZY, I love it! It’ll knock a kid down (wait, no kids under 12 in Havana, so we are good), and the temperature…wow. I’ve never had a ship have the water temp so high that I’m happy on the standard setting, I always turn it up. Not here! It is hooot. So, take that “precaution against scalding” warning seriously if you have this room!

Will be sailing on the Vista April 20. What venues are open for lunch on embarkation day? And which one does everyone recommend?
Much Thanks
Lido marketplace, pizza, deli, pasta, (Cucina), pig & anchor, Guy’s, Blue Iguana…I think that was all.
Chris loooooves the pasta. I’m not a huge pasta eater, so my go to is either Blue Iguana or the deli…BUT!!!…on this ship, Pig & Anchor has redeemed itself and been GOOOOOD. That Mac & cheese….ahhhh….stuff dreams are made of.- 5

I read somewhere that Cuban coffee is available at the Havana bar in the mornings. Do you know what that entails? Do they have a menu you can post? If you like coffee and happen to order it I’d love to hear your impression.
I love coffee and have had a few of theirs, but cannot remember the names. I will make a point to take a pic of the menu next time I’m down there. 🙂

We ended up on Lido for dinner. Pizza & salad for mom, steak & cheese sammich and crab/shrimp cakes for me, and I forget what B got. My steak & cheese was FANTASTIC, and so were the shrimp/crab cakes.
We finished the evening off with some time sitting on the patio. It was nice, we were the only ones on our side of the ship out there.

Today is sea day #2. B and I got up at 7:30, she headed to the gym, I headed to the casino to use my $25 fun play. I love the non smoking casino on Vista. It may be small, but it had a good selection of slot machines and didn’t stink like smoke. I debated between 88 Fortunes or Huff & Puff. 88 Fortunes won out. I started out strong (up $8) then lost it all. Darn it!
I went by the Ocean Plaza bar for an iced caramel latte to drown my sorrows, then headed back to the room. Mum was awake from her slumber, and shortly after I got in B came back from the gym. We decided to go to Sea Day brunch again today, and I won’t bore you with food pics…we got the same thing as yesterday, and it was all delicious.
We went and sat outside the Ocean Plaza area for a bit soaking in the sun and talking, and now we are back at the cabin watching a movie. It’s a nice, relaxing day. I plan to read more of my book and hopefully get in the Havana area pool and hot tub later.

We wandered back to our Havana area after a bit and decided to get into the hot tubs. I also took a quick dip in the pool (it was chilly!) and we got to see a pretty sunset.
We hung there until about 9, then decided to call it a night. First we headed to Lido for more pizza for B (she says it’s soooooo good) and I decided to partake in some tonight too. Margarita, add mushrooms…yum! We went back to the room and started a Reese Witherspoon movie, and I passed out pretty quick. I would say that all in all, today was a success!
