  1. Got an email from them today. Although they aren't on my next cruise, they do offer some things we can use like priority embarkation and disembarkation as well as a private dining table if we wish, a quiet muster drill (which we always get when we go to guest services) and notifying camp staff plus a few other small things. I'm wondering if I sign up for this if I just shouldn't cancel my FTTF.

We love AOTS!! But after a cruising with them a couple times, we now cruise successfully on our own. For us, FTTF is the best! Being able to go straight to the cabin and decompress is well worth the money. Plus your luggage arrives sooner. Also, no line for guest services and priority debarkation. We will continue to buy it until we're platinum. :)

  2. You cannot "fall" overboard. I really HATE when this is written, as it scares the heck out of people and probably keeps them from cruising.

Well, technically you CAN fall overboard but there's usually a lot of alcohol, stupidity or mental illness involved. If you sit on the rail or climb from one balcony to another then you'll most likely fall. But I agree with you that reporting isn't descriptive so non-cruisers understand that. I think they're overly-cautious about reporting a suicide or potential crime.

  3. Do you know if there was a partition between 5346 and 5347? We are traveling with others and would love to open up into a big balcony.

Stayed in 5347. There was a door in the balcony partition that looked like it could be open. But the partition itself is triangular shaped and most narrow near the railing. So if we stood there we could see and talk to our neighbors next to us. (Not very private).

  4. We have four cruises booked on 3 different lines including Oasis of the Seas for Thanksgiving 2016.

We love Carnival but I agree the prices are steadily increasing and we aren't as focused on "getting to platinum". We liked Freedom of the Seas but my kids missed the water slides from the Carnival ships.

  5. Not me! It's neither relaxing nor inviting to have those wild design elements in your face.

I guess I'm part of the "new wave of younger cruisers" because I prefer spa-like and subtle. Maybe it's because I don't want to angle every picture I take to avoid a giant Trojan horse in the background. [emoji38]

  6. We have stayed on decks 5 & 9 and we prefer deck 5. Seemed to be much more central to everything even though we had an aft balcony. It was very quiet!

The taste bar had a small breakfast & lunch sampling that we enjoyed. Trivia in the ocean plaza, also we used the aft elevators to access the Lido deck, Havana bar and Camp Carnival areas. When we stayed on deck 9, it seemed like we were always waiting for an elevator or hiking up several flights of stairs.

  7. From reading these comments I expect that the true size of the CCL insides is a bit smaller than advertised: the same width but 3-4 feet shorter in length.

We are looking at a Vista inside in the Havana section. The balcony is nearly twice the cost. Hard choice to make ... value vs. size.

I think it comes down to your personal traveling preferences and how much time you'll spend in your cabin. We travel with two kids and we "survived" an inside on the Dream but a deluxe ocean view or balcony definitely makes it more pleasant for us. But if it were just my husband and I, we could definitely endure an inside if it meant we could experience the Vista!!

  8. We are sailing on the Sunshine during Thanksgiving this year and according to the Grand Turk cruise center's port schedule, we are one of three ships docked that day. We've been to GT before and thought the pier could only accommodate two ships?? Will the last to arrive have to be tendered?

Such a small island for that many passengers-we hope it won't feel too crowded.
