  1. The child was running around Club C in his socks which caused him to slip a little to much when he was running and it was my daughter who got hurt - she will be fine we have already taken her to her normal doctor luckily we have been thru a broken collar bone before so we knew it was not a grave emergency to jump off the ship

Just curious how old are the children in Club C? Isn't there supervision in Club? What did Carnival say about the accident? Just curious

  2. You can sign up for the text alerts while doing your on line checkin. But since you are the first trip after drydock, the ship will be dead heading into Baltimore so the chances of a late arrival (unless of some sort of delay at the drydock) are minimal.

In 2015 we were on Pride and Saturday afternoon we started getting texts from Carnival about a delayed arrival and not to show up before 3pm. Well, 3pm became 5pm and we boarded after 6pm (talk about a mad house in the terminal!!). Didn't sail until 10 or 11 I think.

OMG. In 2010 my daughter got married on the Pride. She had her wedding before the ship departed and many guests came to the wedding and reception that were not sailing with us. That kinda of delay would have killed us. OMG what a nightmare for anyone getting married on that cruise.

  3. Not really, that's what they say. Same as saying you can't smoke in the casino unless you are playing a machine. I've seen many do both. Especially after a day or so on a new cruise, as the servers get to know who their DOU patrons are, they are eager to bring you a beverage. Now a waiter may ignore or delay getting an order to someone who previously didn't tip them, that's another story.

I thought they stopped smoking in the Casino a few years ago.

  4. Since you brought up "cutbacks", here's something I've thought about. I know I'm not in the minority when I say that the Playlist Productions are basically crap. Obviously, Carnival is doing what they can (whether we like it or not) to keep cruise fares affordable for the average family. However, I would not be too upset if Carnival raised their prices a few dollars per person in order to afford a live band and some better entertainment in the theater. I don't care about not having chocolates on my pillow. They weren't that good any way. I don't care one way or the other about having or not having tablecloths in the MDR. But I do miss having a live band and good entertainment in the theater.

    totally agree.

  5. Matt and Ashley, job well done. Excellent review, great pictures. We live in Phila and Baltimore is my favorite cruise port. Easy drive straight down 95. The Pride is my favorite ship and I have sailed her 3-4 times. My daughter actually got married on her.

Because my Florida mother and sister always have to fly to Baltimore to cruise with us, we decided it was our turn to fly. So we are on the Pride in 2 weeks out of Tampa. Your review helped get me excited about the cruise.

Thank you both for sharing with all of us. It is true generosity. I look forward to your next review.

  6. We have reserved a Cabana at Mahogany Bay. The excursion says it's good for four people but we have six. Has anyone had experience getting two more people in that area?

I would like an answer to this question as we have the same situation.
