  1. Do either of your rooms hold 3 pax? Assuming that the friend is old enough to purchase Cheers, then she's old enough to have her "own" room. Could you book her into a room and you and your husband and daughter into another room? She'd lose the early boarding perk, but it's something to consider.

The friend would be stuck paying the single supplement.

  2. No I won't. I don't have a problem paying the additional $2.95 on the DSC and will choose what increased fee items I will use. Why would I penalize the crew, even if I disagreed with any of these changes. Better to just not partake in room service, drinks or specialty restaurants if you disagree.

  3. Thanks for your review. In Nov. I will be a first time Norwegian cruiser on the Breakway. I am actually a Carnival fan with RCI being my second choice. I love trivia games and think Carnival does the best with them.

I am grateful for all information I can get on the Breakaway

I appreciate your share of your experience.

  4. You wanted us to sugarcoat or to tell you the truth, only kidding.

Like some already said, 'A bad cruise is better than a day at work'. :D

I have never gotten the "better than a day at work". When I work someone pays me. Whether I have a good day or bad someone is giving me money that I can use to take a wonderful vacation.

I've been lucky to enjoy all 10 of my cruises but I have heard some horrid stories. Broken air conditioning, toilets that don't flush, etc. Believe me I do not want to pay for to have living quarters worse than I have at home. If I did camping would be a lot cheaper.

The thing that would bother me the most if I had a bad cruise would be the vacation days I wasted. Nothing is more precious to me than the little time I get paid to not work. Maybe when I retire I will have a different POV but for now I would rather be home or at work as opposed to be stuck on a bad cruise.

  5. So what?

Why do you care what other people do with their money? Are you suggesting that people who read about your so-called excessive amounts are naive or incapable of deciding for themselves?

I always worry that we are not tipping enough. I don't to be the cheapskate and would feel bad if I undertipped. It does make me worry when people talk about tipping hundreds of dollars that what I give will be considered an insult.

  6. My family is going on the Breakaway and husband and I are thinking of joining. Hoping NCL fans can give me some info

We love trivia and such, will we find it on the Breakaway?

What are the range of charges on the pay restaurants?

Any suggestions for a good location for a balcony room. I have some mobility issues so would like to find something centrally located.

I would be very grateful for any information or comparison between NCL and Carnival.

We are not picking people but after 10 Carnival cruises we may be a little biased.

    thank you so much
