  1. Don't know anything about an app.

Yes, there is an elevator (there are a number of elevators all over the ship - not all of them go to every floor but don't worry you WILL find what you're looking for)

No, not ALL cabins sleep 3 but you can look at a deck plan to see which ones officially accommodate 2, 3, or 4 people. Having said this.....of course everyone must have an official cabin/berth......but there are no bed checks. If there is a couch or you want to make the beds into a king/queen and everyone wants to sleep together, or someone wants to sleep on the couch even if it isn't an "official" bed....(you may not be able to get a complete set of bedding) but no one is going to come around at night to see who is sleeping with whom or where LOL. (I would only personally worry that 3 little boys would have a little too much wild fun if left alone....hopefully someone has the cabin next door and can "supervise/oversee - a good time) - having said that.....keep them busy during the day and most of my little ones were exhausted by the time it was bedtime and fell right to sleep!

It would be 2 15 year olds and a 17 year old with a dad and an uncle in the cabin next to them.

  2. Leaving next Monday... hip, hip, hooray

    Some last minute questions:

Someone posted about an app for Splendor. I would like to get more information on that.

Lots of post about the Rotissere above the Lido deck. My mom will be on a scooter. Is there an elevator to that level?

    thanks in advance.

One other question. Can all rooms sleep three. We have three grandsons that want to be together and one 25 year old grandson who does not want anyone in his room. Can I just switch the grandson that is with the 25 year old to the room where the other two grandsons are located?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  3. Oh PULEEEEZE! Part of the fun of being on a ship is going to your cabin each night after turn down and finding, along with the towel animal, the FUNTIMES for the following day and reading through it and planning. I would be most disappointed if the cruiselines did away with this. The FUNTIMES also make a good souvenir.

    totally agree

  4. Some fun things I have done or experienced when cruising with a large group

    Slot pull

decided an amount of money for each person (I particpated in from $5-20)

    Pick a machine

    have everyone put their money

    cover up the credit amount

Depending on the money and machine decide how many spins each person gets

After the last person spins split what is left.

Most I've ever gotten back was $34 for $20 and the least was $6.90 on $15

Crazy hat party. Tell everyone there will be a hat parade. On the night of the Lido party have everyone wear their hats. Have some funny categories (the largest, the most likely to worn by a politican (****) depending on your crowd, the ugliest, the fanciest, etc)

Ask some fellow passengers to be the judge (people always love this)

Give out some silly prized (whistles, blue ribbons, a box of cookies, etc) We always buy the grand winner a drink.

Glowing home party- last night the entire group meets in a club with glowing necklaces, bracelets etc. Vote for the best glower. Give them a crown or some light up prop.

Pick a dress up night (not formal) where everyone dresses to a theme. The fifites, Pirates and wenches, cowboys and cowgirls, senors and senoritas. Something to represent their home port, etc

Tee shirts are really a great idea as they become excellent souveniers.

    have fun

  5. I received an email saying my promotional gift card was being mailed. At first I was confused because it said total cost $100.95 I thought I made a mistake and asked for a gift card for $100 instead of $1000. The next email told me gift card for $1000 was being shipped.

The promotional card does total charged 100.95. I hope it is only the .95.

  6. My 15 year old went into cardiac arrest 2 weeks after our cruise in April,no warning!! Never thought a that could EVER happen in a million years!Thank God it didn't happen on the cruise as he wouldn't be alive today!! That being said I will always buy insurance because "people plan and God laughs"!!Best wishes for your dad!

That must have been a terrible scare for you. I hope everything is going well for your son.

  7. On 7 cruises I purchased insurance. I booked cruise #8 and planned to buy insurance. Life stuff happened and I forgot. Fast Forward 1 year 2 months later and 2 weeks before our cruise my 32 yr old daughter who was fighting breast cancer received devastating news that her treatment was not working. She kept telling us to go she would be fine but when I didn't go I could tell she was happy.

I didn't even beat myself up for not buying insurance.. it is what it is and somethings in life are not worth worrying about. Especially when your world is falling apart.

I called and canceled my pre-paid tips and excursions were refunded. I wasn't even counting on that. OP I am so sorry about your dad and I hope things work out.

My daughter was with us for 4 more months and I will be forever happy with the decision I made.

  8. That's a matter of opinion, and I do not agree that platters are easier to manage than trays. You put stuff on the table and then someone takes the table and you are stuck looking and retrieving again. By the time you make all those trips your food is cold!

And klutzes are klutzes and they will find a way to a mess trays or platters :)

I bought trays for $1.29 each at the Christmas Tree shop - they will be coming on my next cruise - Sept 1 - yay!

I will check out my Christmas tree shop. My problem is that I will probably walk away without the tray.

  9. My vote is for G & M or Olive Grove which is a block or so from G & M. They are owned by the same people. I think Pappas are good but not as big as G & M. 7West in Towson's are pretty good also.

Love the Olive Grove. Had my daughter's rehearsal dinner there and they couldn't be nicer and the crab cakes are ootw.
