This was part of my analysis as well. We booked using a promo offer that included OBC.... Which we could apply when pre ordering Cheers. I think that must be a new option, and kudos to Carnival for that change.
-
We are light drinkers, and usually don't buy cheers. But we've developed a liking for high end craft cocktails. Cheers also includes coffee from the Cafe on board, bottled beverages, soda. Weve opted to get it for our sailing next week. We don't drink soda much but I think we will get value this time... We are celebrating our retirements, so an extra libation or 2 may be in order. Good luck on your decision and have a great cruise. Btw I actually put the drinks we are likely to consume on a spreadsheet, and we will potentially breakeven with 3 or 4 drinks, 2 coffees and a few bottles of water daily.

Elation staff is outstanding, ship not so much!
We have reasonable expectations for $90pp plus OBC.

I did end up getting on Elation April 2 on a Fab promo. Really looking forward to it. Love those Fantasy class ships.

Thanks for sharing your cruise. I'm sailing her April 2. Its been a while since we last sailed from PC. I love fantasy class and fear they will slowly all be fazed out. I'm looking forward to my trip, and your summary.

Its really not up to Carnival. They must comply with CDC in order to stay operating.

What is passenger count on board?

Following.... We will be sailing her April 2. Last time on Elation was 2012 out of NOLA. Looking forward to your review. How was the Carnival shuttle to PC?

I'll suggest again...Cruise Control (888) 416-8830
Their shuttle times are not optimal, but there is available slots. so I may have to take a chance. Seems to be that all these companies are experiencing labor shortages with lack of drivers. In future ill probably stick with Miami where taxis are available

Cortrans shuttle....$50/pp Round-trip from Orlando airport hotels to the port Canaveral pier. On time, good drivers, clean shuttle. They have several pick up times you can choose from.

2 Adults. Hotel offers 3rd Party shuttle with 11:30 pickup. We prefer to head to port sooner. I've read reviews of several transportation companies. None stood out. Any recent experience with Uber? Or other recent shuttle service recommendations? I really don't want to spend more on ground transport than I did for the cruise!

I was able to modify my flight to noon this morning. No sense in stressing. We are TSA but flying home a couple months ago from Orlando was awful even with TSA so I imagine this will be similar. Thanks all!
Good choice. I would never chance it. MIA in November post cruise had huge security lines

I tried to downgrade once, but was led to believe that is not allowable by my PVP. But maybe a TA can do that?

Yes, effective March 1. from Carnival site (Hve Fun, Be Safe):
Effective March 1, guests who are up to date with their vaccines may take their test within three days prior to sailing. Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccinations, including any booster dose(s), when eligible. If a guest is fully vaccinated but not up to date with their vaccines (i.e., is eligible for a booster but has not received one), they must take their pre-cruise COVID-19 test within two days prior to sailing.
More clarification: did I miss something? Is only a PCR test acceptible? We are fully vaxxed (2 jabs + booster). This past November we only needed Ag test. I don't see that mentioned in the most recent update
-
I heard this rumor that these ships will be switching ports in March or April. I would more likely believe Elation will sadly see same fate as other Fantasy class ships. Does anyone have any inside knowledge of this possible move? I really want to sail Elation before its too late, but hesitate to book in the event it may change.

Something similar happened to us when we decided to upgrade our cabin. Prior to upgrade, was pd in full (using credit from previous cancellation). Upgrade left us with a small balance($250) which we would have gladly paid had PVP told us to pay immediately... But since it was within 90 day period, carnival cancelled entire booking for non payment... Including drink pkg we got on a Fab promo offer. I was so angry... Isn't the job of the PvP to know the rules and keep us informed when changes are made? Needless to say, no longer use that PVP... Especially when the response was something like ..... Oh well, not my fault.

I remember the calendar. Was very useful. I now use alternative cruise sites when needing to search by date.

Why assume the positive test is false? Retest if needed.

Did I read that right - no smoking in the casino? Wow, I hope that is one rule they never reverse!
True... Last month on Horizon, smoke was so bad we spent only 10 minutes in the casino the entire week. Saved us money; I guess smokers spend enough that they don't need it from us non-smokers?

May be too soon to know for sure... That's 6 months way. With variants etc the covid situation is still fluid.

Saw it. He seemed optimistic about the future of CCL and the Cruise Industry.... But then again, that's his job. Not much earth shattering new revelations. The corporation will adjust as needed to fuel prices, covid, world situations. Bookings are up. They hope to have 100% of the fleets sailing by 2023. Yadda yadda.
One final note: he did make a gracious comment re': all the Ukrainian employees in the organization
