Is check-in still 14 days prior to sailing?
-
I would be cautious depending on Uber. Upon return in April Uber cost was $160 PC to MCO surge cost. How soon is your cruise; we booked last minute and many transport shuttle companies were full and could not accept our request. We stayed night prior near MCO and used hotel service to go back to airport in the morning and used Carnival shuttle. It worked out OK for us.

I've never gotten a casino offer. Do spend time daily , but not necessarily a bunch of .money. How much does one need to spend?

Frequent cruiser and slightly embarrassed to not know: is there any advantage to pre paying? It will get added to S&S at end of cruise regardless. We've done it both ways. But I'm wondering why I should front the cash....

I usually buy carnivals insurance ever since we had travel interruption due to Hurricane Matthew. I didn't have it on that trip and had to pay $$$$ out of pocket for new last minute flights. So right now we have 3 cruises (2 Carnival and 1 Royal) booked and one land vacay booked in the next 6 months (the joy of recent retirement). I'm considering an annual policy with Allianz. Any opinions on this company vs AON?

Personally for me, FTTF never seemed worth the cost. To each their own

Those specialty restaurants not yet available for reservations for my Celebration booking Jan 2023

No cruise deals on board. In fact the staff at the kiosk seemed clueless

I will turn platinum on my next cruise.... So technically I'm still Gold at this moment. Cruise manager does not reflect the "bonus" 2 additional days. PVP didn't seem to know. No biggie either way, just wondering if any others on here may know

ditto - 2 future bookings not showing and unable to Add to cruise manager. I believe I saw same thing mentioned a week or 2 ago on here. as stated above - probably a software glitch

Why do all of that at all? Why not just buy the e-gift card before your cruise, save it, and when you board, go to Guest Services, and apply that e-gift card to your S&S account? That way, if you don't spend it all, Carnival will send you a hard plastic gift card, for what you didn't spend. You don't lose any money that way.
personally I hate wasting time waiting at Guest services... and those kiosks - forget about it. My next cruise I'll be platinum, do my opinion may change.

In the past I used gift cards to buy cruise cash. I don't see why you couldn't use e-card as well.

As a follow up question - what is a recommended time for a flight out of BOS?

I'm also exploring this port. We booked "late" and all ship Acadia excursions are sold out .... so I saw the option for the free public transit "Island explorer".... has anyone done this? It sounds like a viable option. Just have to plan stops and timing. any suggestions welcome. thank you

We are fairly frequent Carnival cruisers and know the brand and the ins/outs.... However, we just booked a NE/Canada cruise on Voyager because of the itinerary. We have sailed Royal a couple times, but not for a while. We have only 90 days; I know that seems like a lot, but I'm planner and usually have cruises book out a year or more. any hints or suggestions Please??!! These are all new ports for us.
- when do we "check-in"
- all excursions for Acadia are booked, any alternate suggestions. pretty bummed but didn't know this until after we booked. Is this a tender port?
- dining suggestions welcome
- we will fly into Boston 2 days prior... we've been to Boston before and love the city - hotel recommendations?
- Sydney NS - no clue what to do here. none of the excursions jumped out to me
- how does MTD work? do ppl like it? We love this option on Carnival
Thanks in Advance for any tips etc.

Something else to consider is that even if Royal grants an exemption some ports do not. Even if the the person would not get off the ship they would not be allowed on a cruise that stops in Bermuda or Canada. There may be other ports like that.
Correct, and those booked together may also be subjected to vaccine rules of the ports visited.

My understanding is that many people who claim religious reasons for not being vaccinated base that on the fact that tissue from aborted fetuses is used in their production. I'm not making a political statement one way or the other about it - just that it seems to be the reason for religious exemptions and not some sort of crazy "they are coming for us" type ideas.
If you read the Papal statement on the history of the vaccine development, it is quite informative. And explains the position of The Catholic Church. The vaccine does not contain fetal tissue.

I know this topic can get derailed quickly. First of all, my wife and I are vaccinated. However, my uncle (brother of my late father-in-law) in his 70s is not. He did have Covid a year ago, but hasn't gotten the shot due to religious reasons (he's a strict catholic). He would love to come cruising with us.
I am aware of the RC website with the rules, but I can't see there's a lot of information there:
Religious Requests: For religious accommodation, please describe the nature of your sincerely held religious beliefs, religious practice or observance that conflicts with the vaccination requirement.
Question: has anyone successfully applied for this, and if so: can you share what kind of documentation you provided?
I believe the Pope encouraged people to get vaccinated

Sailed Elation in April. Sea was calm entire cruise and was one of smoothest cruises we've had. Food was good. Staff was great. We aren't in to all the crazy activities, so we got just what we expected - a nice and relaxing vacation. I would do it again without hesitation.

There were many many people that got covid on the Wonder. They collected passports from all that had covid. We were one of the first off. The boxes were full of passports.
Any idea how outbreak happened?

If I have a $500 or $1000 GF, can I divide up among 3 cabins? I just want to double check before I buy. Thank you.
As I recall... On the payment tab, select gift card and it asks for security code and amount you want to apply. So yes, I'm fairly certain you can split it up on multiple bookings

Frequent purchaser of Carnival cards... Also Allstate customer with A LOT of points. But considering changing insurers. Will I be able to keep the account and points? Or should I buy a bunch of cards first?
