  1. Flying to Boston Sep 30. Cruise departs Oct 2. Need that Darn covid Ag test on travel day. Impossible to schedule before we leave home due to timing. Considering proctored self test but having technical issues with both phone and laptop (it figures). Looking for a back up reasonable option in the Seaport area for same day results. TIA.

Considering you name, I find that you might be able to shed some light on a question I have. I've booked my first balcony room ever and it's on the Freedom. By chance would you know if it's possible to hang a hammock on one of her balconies down the side of the ship?

    I  believe hammocks are prohibited

What happens when parents stay in one cabin and the kids stay in a separate cabin.

Carnival needed to stick to somebody over 21 being in each cabin, rather than just allowing them to switch cabins after boarding.

Regardless of which family member is in each cabin, parents still need to be accountable for their minor children on  board

    • I just don't understand given all the technology available, why Cheers can't be purchased by one person?  Seriously?  They are able to prevent children from ordering drinks because of how their card is coded.  So why can't they truly have it assigned to just one person S&S account?

The whole "both parties have to buy it" just always seemed like a $ grab to me.  What about those who are pregnant?  Or traveling with a recovering alcoholic?  Or diabetic?

So who would be responsible for verifing claims for medical exemption? More costly paperwork and more overhead expenses the rest of us would have to bear? Maybe if Carnival charged a $200 processing fee, then maybe I would change my thinking on this topic.

EXACTLY. 3 people in a cabin, maybe. 3 people to one (very small) bathroom- absolutely not. I truly don't know how people with kids and families do it, their cabins always seem so cramped.

As a fairly neat couple who've learned to pack light and don't bring a lot of excess items..... I've walked the hallways and peeked inside some cabins (don't judge the door was opened) and it looked like a cyclone tore thru there. I could never imagine having a friend - no matter how close share a cabin with me and DH. Likewise I would never impose the same on someone. But everyone travels and cruises differently. Feel bad for the friend but its not your obligation to subsidize his/her vacation. jmho

  6. I requested for our January 2023, and the only response  I have so far is due to overwhelming number of requests, they are taking far longer than in the past. You will get an email from guest relations when your OBC is issued. I'll wait until a month prior if I don't see it. Note: credits for my November cruise were issued within a few weeks.

Thanks all  for the information , especially the elevator input. MIL is doing well with her cane, but I don’t think we want to test it if she might have a long wait, so I think we’ll bring along the walker that has a seat.

I really enjoy reading reviews, watching videos, etc pre-cruise. I can’t wait and it’s part of the excitement and anticipation for me. Thank you again for your input.

I was trying to be ‘cute’ with my title, but truly any cruise is Paradise!!!

As mentioned above, we've sailed most classes and honestly have never had a bad time on any cruise. We first sailed on Paradise when she was a relatively new ship, and boy did we think she was the cats meow back then. She's been on my radar for a few years. We decided to go ahead and book a B2B on her next year after the scheduled dry dock in October 2023. I was surprised to see many categories are sold out or limited already! So she's apparently still a popular ship. Happy cruising!

  8. Following. I like fantasy class ships. But I like  others as well. We sailed Elation earlier this year, but also have Horizon and Celebration in the coming months. I looked at Paradise for next year solely for a noon to 6pm stop at Key West. On Elation we had what we needed, great staff, good food and its very navigable. The Paradise doesn't have an Alchemy bar and I would miss that.

  9. Its a tough call. Would Carnival risk negative PR calling out a service dog vs. a support animal? I'm pretty sure those certificates can be purchased on-line, just like a marriage officiant. Also, why would Carnival risk an animal bite or a passenger who has allergies? Whatever the case, no animal should be permitted to freely roam around or be sitting at a bar.

  10. Yep... Port fee adjustment. When pre paying, cruise lines base the charges on an estimated passenger count. When final boarding is done, the estimated is converted to actual. We've had this on multiple sailings.
